I arrived at Lewistown Hospital's ER yesterday morning in the midst of a roaring kidney stone attack. I was seen immediately, had an amazing nurse and the doctor stayed involved through the entire process. Everyone I had contact with was compassionate, friendly and caring.

The nurses don't wanna inform the family outside very well to there loved ones inside as a patient. They say there gonna call and fill you in they don't. They say they will tell you what's going on they don't. They say they'll get the drs to keep in touch with you to fill you in on a loved ones condition or whats the current situation and they don't. Not satisfied at all. Not happy.

My father was being treated at the VA, but they had a deal where you could pick your own hospital and the VA would pay for it. Cool I guess. Every hospital visit he had, they refused to send the bill to the VA, so all in all I think I spent about 200 hours on the phone with VA reps taking these hospital bills to them. When talking to the people at Geisinger they informed me that in their opinion my father was not a vet, incidentally this is a phone discussion I had with them the day we got back from laying my father to rest in Arlington.

I've had enough talking with the Geisinger billing department for one life time. Their customer service is at the point where if I had a life threatening condition I would choose to travel further at the risk of my own life rather than saddle my family with having to deal with them.

Came in 3 months ago finger almost cut off more worried about insurance intake then numbing it up and fixing it. Now back in her again both daughter's up throwing up all night fevers, more worried billing insurance company within first 15min of us being here and after an hr still haven't seen a nurse or a doctor yet. Geisinger cares more about money then taken care of patients and childern, that's obvious.

I've had too many bad experiences to share all of them right now. The worst yet was when I was taken to the ER after a car wreck. I had head trauma and had fractured my neck. However, dr oulaf never did concussion testing, and actually told me I broke a completely different bone in my body. It took my nurse walking in with a neck brace for me to realize he was totally wrong.

I waited in a hospital bed for five hours, with a nurse checking on me one time when I ran my bell to get up. Glh, the er especially, is a mess and most of the staff is only there for the paycheck, it's very obvious. If you live in Mifflin County, I recommend paying extra to take a trip to mount Nittany or literally any other hospital. I give one star for the very few and far between help that actually care about their patients.

Nurses are disrespectful and rude 24/7 I have yet to meet a decent nurse or doctor. I am 9 months pregnant with my second and have been treated with nothing but disrespect here all because I am a young mother (19 yo) I won't begin to explain how they messed up my first born's Circumcision after he was born and how they took hours to even bathe the poor kid.

I was treated terribly for my first pregnancy as well as the second looking into going to a different hospital pretty soon unless they fix their attitudes and start treating people equally because it's highly ridiculous! They even screwed my back up from the epidural they had students do. I hope somebody sue's this hospital because they don't deserve to stay in business if they can't be respectful it's sickening.

Worst hospital ever. Er Doctor tells my wife something is wrong with her heart and promptly walks out the room with no other explanation given. Nurses are rude, doctors are rude and what choice do you have because geisenger pretty much has a monopoly on health care in the area. The dont help at all, they bounce you to different specialists, who then send you back to your family dr and then back to a specialist. Meanwhile they take forever to call you with test results (if they call at all). they will call the very next day for payment though. Absolute joke

Im on a mission to let everyone know just how bad geisinger is. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. Not at all. Every doctor ive ever seen from geisinger acts like you should be graced by their presence and treat you like you dont know your own body. Dr.okoye, in particular, is definitely one to avoid. They have an actual disdain for the patient. Monopoly on health care. Im working on a class action suit if anyone is interested.

Had to go to emergency room I fell down the steps at work & needed my left foot checked. The emergency room doctor Dr. Oelhaf and the nurses were great. I needed a cat scan done. The woman that did this cat scan was never trained on bedside manners! She was very rough! She snatched my foot and put it roughly where she needed it! So therefore I did yell & cuss it hurt really bad!

She just carried on about her way. She had me put my right knee up & when I was being moved I to the machine my right knee was hit hard off the machine! I also had bruising on my right knee from the fall. When I got the cat scan results it showed I had a broken foot! She needs trained better!

Went to the ER with an ovarian cyst measuring 8.19 cm with torsion. The on call ob/gyn released me saying there was nothing they could do. Said my white cell count was fine when it was over 14. Was running high fever over 100. Horrible abdominal pain. The PAC told me they were releasing me but if I wanted to be admitted they would because she obviously couldn't make that decision on her own.

After pumping me with morphine I was made to walk to my vehicle instead of being wheeled out. I ended up having emergency surgery the next day at Mount Nittany where it turned out I had other problems and now my white cell count was 18.9 and I was septic. This hospital is absolute trash.
