In 1972, Tom and Mary Shields owned and operated the Madalawn Nursing Home in Brockton, Massachusetts, and committed themselves to exceptional patient care and clinical excellence. Over the next 10 years, Tom and Mary established the largest regional dialysis center in New England. Bringing exceptional care to the local community was a model they would repeat with the opening of the first independent regional MRI center in 1986.

Today, we've expanded to more than 30 facilities throughout New England, offering MRI, PET/CT, and outpatient surgical services with an extraordinary team of caring professionals-while remaining a family-owned and operated organization.

I have been scheduling appointments for an MRI for a few months now. They have changed the appointment on my numerous times. I showed up for an appointment and was turned away because they scheduled me for the wrong type of exam and they were unable to do it at the location they placed me at. I finally got an appointment for a day and time that worked around my schedule and they called to tell me they scheduled me too early and had to move it. If I didn't need the scans I wouldn't have kept trying since the first time they rescheduled me months ago.

Went for two images and was told that I could do both or return for the second, which is what I chose to do. Then I was told it will cost an additional $100 for the second, but no one had informed of this. They say there's nothing they can do which is a laugh.

Make sure you clarify with Shields when they tell you what the cost is going to be for an MRI. They told us what the cost would be to us - that they checked with our insurance. And we paid that. But they did not tell us that we would then be charged an additional $200 for someone in another company to interpret the results of the MRI. So when they state a certain amount is all you are going to pay, it is not true.

They do not feel it is necessary to give you any of that information since it is technically not their company charging you. But if you ask them what the total charge is going to be, they should be sharing that information and they do not.

Shields MRI Chelmsford. When I scheduled the MRI (for my foot) I was asked how I would pay, so I said with my credit card. The woman then said she needed the details, so I gave them. She did not tell me I would be charged immediately, $748, one week before the MRI. I called to complain and have it removed and was told this was normal procedure to pre pay and why should I care since I would be paying for it later anyway. My MRI was cancelled and they have billed me again, another $748! Terrible service from the billing department.

When I worked here I experienced the worst kind of racism and discrimination there is. People in this establishment like to walk around as if they are better than everyone. They attack and belittle you through emails, passively. They try and make every mistake seem like it's so dire and heavy when even superiors are making the same petty and minor mistakes.

They discriminated against me so badly for no reason because I asked a client" to please not be rude, I'm only trying to help". I provide excellent customer care and have for 10+ years, as well as having many Doctor's opinions/testimonies to prove my efforts. Many other individuals who were not of my skin color, and whom have said worse and done worse to clients are still working there. Calls are recorded and if audited it would be very apparant that discrimination and racism resides in this establishment.

The better business bureau needs to investigate fully into the treatment of employees at this establishment. With my training inside the country and outside the country this establishment is not one that upholds the value of equal opportunity. It's sad that I was used, per the director of this branch, as an example. because I am a upbeat and happy person i was categorized as different and treated as such which is wrong.

I came to work and got my work executed in a very speedy and diligent manner and was always willing to offer help or do more but they blatantly disrespected me and belittled me at every chance. It was like high school. Talking behind backs and snickering, the constant emails passively attacking someone else. Administration is no different. This is not what a healthcare facility should act like, neither should an individual of hard working background be subject to such cruelty.

Several times I asked for more hours and was denied because I was different, whereas people who were hired alongside me were given the opportunity and when I asked why they said because I was new. now is that not something funny, when people who were hired with me were given overtime upon overtime (are they not new too). This is something that needs to be checked and fixed. Promotions go only to people who are friends with each other and not the people who truly deserve them.

I know multiple people who have quit since I left from multiple branches (not just this branch). This company as a whole needs an internal audit because their treatment of employees is beyond reasonable and should not be upheld by anyone who has a just bone in their body and believe in equal respect amongst all living things despite race, color or creed.

The behavior of this establishment as a whole is disgusting. This is my honest truth. I was treated unjustly as many other have been by this establishment and still are and I think it's only right to voice my opinion in this free country called America where I was born and still have to deal with injustice like this.

I would Not recommend going to this facility. I went here for my MRI appointment on 11/7 and the technician refused to do my MRI scan. Before this appointment, the medical assistant called me and asked me medical questions before hand. I had told her that I had heart surgery and that I had a valve replacement and it was safe for me to have this MRI because it wasn't metal and that I had a MRI less that 5 years ago with no problems.

I even called my cardiologist on his cell phone and he told them that I had a stent and it was safe it wasn't metal and would not melt. After speaking to my cardiologist the technician asked me the make and model of my stent? I told her that I didn't know this but my doctor had just finished telling them what I had for a stent and the procedure.

The technician refused to do the scan so I got dressed and told them all that they were unprofessional. If they wanted to know the exact details of my surgery, then they should have asked me for my records from the heart surgery before I arrived for my appointment. I wasted 2 hours there only to be sent away! So my advice to any patient is to stay away from this facility. This was a waste of my time!

My doctor ordered two MRI images, and Shields MRI contacted me to schedule it. At that time, they quoted me an *estimated* price for both images. I had them double check that price, and it was confirmed. Less than 24 hours prior to my appointment, I received a standard, automated reminder call citing an incorrect appointment time. Upon calling in to inquire, I was told, "Oh, someone should have called you!" They had changed the appointment time without consulting me or notifying me. That's not a big deal.

And I took the opportunity to have them triple-check the price they had previously quoted to me. The price was confirmed again. But when I arrived for my appointment, they cited a price that was *TRIPLE* the amount quoted. Triple! They have tried to blame the insurance company, but the insurance company did not quote me any price; Shields MRI did.

They double checked the price. They triple checked the price. And then when they thought I was too committed to back out, they tripled it. It's a sleazy bait and switch. If you deserve better care from a health insurance provider than sleaze tactics--and you do--you'll have to go somewhere other than Shield's MRI to get it.

I was sent to Shields MRI (Woburn) because of a spot on a CAT scan. An MRI was needed and because of previous back surgery and implanted metal plate I was apprehensive. The staff made me feel comfortable and reassured me regarding the implant. I am also mildly claustrophobic and the Staff did everything in their power to help me through the procedure.

I will be using Shields in the future ( I'm sure) and will look forward to another pleasant experience. From the front office staff, to the Radiologists and Nurses doing the tests, Shields MRI at Cummings Park has the most professional, knowledgeable and empathetic staff I have ever met.

If you are a patient within the Winchester Hospital system this is a great place to know if you are in need of diagnostic imaging. The waiting area is bright and comfortable, the check-in process is smooth and efficient and all of the staff members are so kind. When a person is in need of these services it can be filled will all kinds of anxiety and fear. The environment is warm and inviting. Thanks for having a good bedside manner.
