The Doctors, nurses and staff are wonderful. My problem is with the GREED OF NOVANT. I recently went in for a routine post cancer check. I was in the DR for a very short period of time. I went into sticker shock when my bill came. NOVANT changed the way they bill and called a routine office visit outpatient care. Instead of costing my $80 copay I had to pay out over $400. Please complain to Novant or you'll receive these outrageous bills for a DR visit

I was a patient of Dr Nusrat Chaudary two years ago. Anemia was my issue and she (first) insisted on an iron infusion of a mixture which (I discovered after the fact) was not recommended for a person with a cardiac history and high BP problems (my condition). The nurse in her clinic who installed the infusion line was haphazard, blew a vein, tried again and the process was quite painful.
When I finally said, "STOP! Please! that HURTS!" she could not have cared less and ignored me, kept scrounging in my vein with the needle. (I have a quite high threshold of pain, actually.had never complained before though I had had many a stick). She ignored me from then on. I had zero improvement from the infusion, ($$$ wasted). Fortunately, I had no adverse effects except heart palpitations. Whenit became clear that the infusion was worthless, I asked that she prescribe the same type infusion my primary had arranged previously which had yielded positive results.
She refused, said she didn't stock it, then refused to order it, then reluctantly --and sulkingly--agreed.and then I advised her I wanted to schedule the infusion at Presby Main (not wanting another go around with Nurse Ratchet). Annoyed (no doubt at the money loss for her clinic) she then scheduled EXACTLY the same ineffective and potentially harmful infusion she had set up initially, this time at Presby Main, without advising me she had not kept her word and prescribed the preferred infusion mixture.
Upon discovery of that fact when I arrived at Presby clinic, I refused it and left the clinic and her practice. Waste of money, waste of time, FAR too much of both. Not to be outdone when I left her practice, she sent a letter 'withdrawing" her care. I got the distinct feeling the watchword overall was 'profit'. That the patient had little say in treatment was abundantly clear. I say, "Patient, beware."
