Hackensack University Medical Center (HackensackUMC) is a 900-bed non-profit, research and teaching hospital located seven miles (11 km) west of New York City, in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey, providing tertiary and healthcare needs for northern New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area.

Each patient is evaluated using a multidisciplinary approach and a team of cancer experts. Minimally invasive surgical techniques are used to decrease post-operative pain and speed up recovery. Individualized care is offered based on the patient's co-morbid conditions, their tumor type, and its location.

Metastatic disease to the liver from colorectal cancer constitutes the highest volume of Dr. McCain liver resection volume. Patients generally stay only 1 to 2 days post liver resection in the hospital. For patients with less aggressive tumors that only require microwave ablation same-day laparoscopic surgery is available.
