The Presbyterian Medical Care Mission is a Christ-centered community ministry with one primary goal: to serve those in our area who are in need by providing access to affordable, quality primary medical to low-income and uninsured adults. Our purpose and our ministry is hope, healing, and compassion for those we serve. Mission Statement: The Medical Care Mission exists to provide, in a Christian setting, quality health care to persons in the Abilene area. Mission Scripture:.I was sick and you looked after me.whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
Services
In 1983, a community committee, many of whom were physicians from First Central Presbyterian Church, recognized a critical unmet need in the Abilene area - affordable healthcare for a segment of the population they described as the working poor. Although employed, many individuals in this group were simply financially unable to afford health insurance, were too young for Medicare, and generally ineligible for Medicaid. As a result of the absence of health insurance, their access to medical care was limited and medical care delayed.
The Presbyterian Medical Care Mission provides access to primary medical care for low-income and uninsured adults, ages 18 - 64. Patients who have private health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, do not qualify for services. Our medical staff includes one physician and two part time nurse practitioners.
It would be impossible for the Presbyterian Medical Care Mission to successfully provide vital care to our community without the help and support of local businesses, universities, foundations and churches. Thank you for your contribution of time, talent, and service in bringing hope and providing care to the citizens of our community! If you are interested in supporting our mission through goods and services, please contact the Mission at (325) 672-5601 for more information.
A grateful patient stopped by to thank the staff of the Mission for their care with hugs for all! As a non-profit entity, the PMCM is dependent upon private donations and foundation grants to provide affordable medical care to patients. A generous grant from the Community Foundation of Abilene assists in sustaining the medical clinic operations.

Great place except for a woman that works there. She is very unprofessional in how she treats my daughter and I.

They are super sweet and helpful! The nurses are very friendly! But when it comes to answering the phone well. They never do. So if you are getting labs done and are trying to call in to check on that. Don't get your hopes up. Because you can never get through to them. Can't even schedule an appointment over the phone you have to go up to the office to do this.

This place, and Dr. C in particular, has changed my families life. Before going to the MCM I was not able to work for two years or so and we could find no help with no insurance. until we found MCM and a caring and understanding doctor called "Dr. C" This place and this doctor have played a big part of me returning to work and now able to provide financially to my family. Thanks to Abba for leading me there and thank you to the MCM, a place that cares!

The care here provided to patients is wonderful. It's great for people who don't qualify for welfare yet can't afford private health insurance. The diabetes management clinic and lipid management clinic is top notch.
