Horrible attention. I know hospitals are short staffed but come on people what is this? I arrived with my mom and sister at 9:10 p.m and the doctors saw my sister until 2:50 a.m. We finally went home until 4 a.m. It is truly unacceptable that a children's hospital has this kind of attention. My sister had a seizure that night and that's why we brought her.

I thought the attention would be way better but 7 hours waiting. that is just not right. Besides, the waiting area was filled with children coughing and vomiting all over the place. Very unsanitary. They didn't even try to separate the children that were coughing from the others. Isn't COVID still a thing? The doctors are great but the attention overall isn't great.

Considering this is a well known children's hospital you would think that they would be more professional and that they take your emergency serious but Nowadays they hire whoever to take care of your kids. There's So many young employees who have no idea what they're doing and have no basic manners. How do you have these types of people caring for our kids? There's so many terrible reviews that should tell you enough about this place. Do better!

Got at the ER at 2 a.m. My son had croups cough. He was COVID positive too. They had a full house and only 2 doctors on duty. What good is it to have a state of the art facility and staff if they are not available? 8 a.m. and son has yet to get the steroids that he needs so we can go home.

I can say the nurses are okay, but when it comes to communication it's very inconsistent. Child was supposed to go home today (at least that's what I was told) and instead of telling me they needed her to stay another day just for a scan, they insist she was good to go home until a different nurse let's me know, they didn't approve of her coming home, because they don't do scans on Sundays it would have to be tomorrow morning but before I was told she can get it done today.

As frustrating as it is having your child stay in the hospital when you see them doing better and well enough to be discharged they waited till the very last minute to start doing the important stuff when they could've did it on the days it should've been done. The communication and planning could be done a lot better.

My child is 3 years old has asthma, we came with referral from pidoatric for nothing, we had a 4-5 hour wait and decided to leave to Larkins hospital. In the waiting room at Nicholas children there was over 65 people my advice go somewhere else and get transferred, because in my case my child could have died and they wouldn't have cared. Now just an update no rooms available my soon has to sleep in emergency room

If I could give -100 stars I would listen to all the negative reviews. I came with a referral from my pediatrician for my 2 month old son since we suspected he has an intussusception. We been here since 10:12pm and it's about to be 3am. We still waiting for a doctor and no nurse is available at the station. Me and my mom had to walk outside looking for help cause they don't ask you If you need help.

You can tell is very understaffed and I don't know how they allow this at a children's hospital. They don't even show care with little babies. This is unbelievable what this country is becoming. How does HR even allow this? Any baby could've had an emergency and they wouldn't even know, imagine coming to the emergency and having to wait way more than an appointment. Never ever returning to this place again.

My experience had been horrible. I am currently still sitting in the lobby (5:21am) since 2:00am and my daughter has yet to be called. I have never been through this in this hospital and all they can say is that they have high acuity patients and it's been extremely slow per the triage nurse. I saw a parent come out of the ER in anger and tell the receptionist after waiting an hour inside, that she was leaving because a doctor hadn't passed by to see the patient.

There is a higher volume of patients leaving than what there is up walk in( being seen by a medical professional). Below is a picture of the ER lobby. The second and third picture is in the ER Nurses Station when I was finally called at 5:50am

Went in with my daughter for a cyst on her lower back she was in so much pain. Got called into one of the rooms the nurse that placed us in the room didn't communicate as she should have. Got In the room at 6:10 pm. No one came into our room. No nurse no doctors. After 3 hrs of waiting I just walked out of the emergency room. All the nurses were at their station just talking as they are watching me walk out no one stopped or asked me or my daughter if anything was wrong.

Never have I ever experienced this kind of treatment from any hospital. And my daughter was in so much pain. They seem like they had no care or concern for my child. Never again.

I'm curious to know if people are being paid to give 5 star reviews for this hospital Took almost 5 hours after my son was admitted to get his IV in. No restraints were available in his size. So I had to bring my own from home so baby wouldn't pull on his IV Nurses said call if you need anything.call light/control did not work. No extension to call on the white board.

I literally had to walk around the floor looking for someone at 1am. Didn't even know the staffs name until morning shift rolled around that the first nurse properly introduced themselves and updated the board. The crib for the baby looks as if it was bought at a goodwill that an abandoned hospital donated. No size 2 diapers.so I either had to size down or size up.

I'm sorry. This is a childrens hospital and they don't have diapers? No Specialty feeding bottles were available. Apparently NICU didn't have enough to spare. There was no where for the parent who was staying overnight to sleep. Only a chair that was broken. When I mentioned this to the nurse. Someone brought a recliner chair that was also broken.

Parent lounge was unavailable. So you had to go down to the cafeteria. Okay, you'd think no big deal. But it was. Nursing ratios are insane here for kids and staff wasn't able to stay in the room with the baby while I stepped away momentarily. I rather drive 4 hours to St Petersburg at John Hopkins All Childrens Hospital for care next time my son needs to be seen or have surgery.

I feel terrible families come here to have those children be seen in the emergency room and wait HOURS to be seen. Nicklaus Childrens Hospital needs to change their mission statement to "where your child matters the least" or actively make changes and improvements to your WHOLE hospital.

Best place to take your young children when they are sick. High quality staff and all of the latest technology. The ER only allows 1 parent in right now because of the pandemic.
