Founded in 1923 as the Charlotte Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, CEENTA has grown to become one of the largest multispecialty practices of its kind on the East Coast, so patients don't have to travel to receive top-quality care. Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, P.A. (CEENTA) has nearly 140 providers in almost 20 locations bringing specialty care to the community. CEENTA provides comprehensive pediatric and adult eye, ear, nose and throat care, and highly specialized care, too. These services include but are not limited to: audiology, allergy treatment, cataract surgery, cochlear implants, cornea diseases, diabetic eye care, glaucoma treatment, head and neck cancer, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, optical and contact lenses, pediatric airway care, sleep medicine, thyroid treatment, and voice and swallowing care.
If you currently have or recently had a fever, cough, upper respiratory illness/shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell, please call the office where your appointment is scheduled. We will need your current insurance information in order to schedule a visit, so please have it available.
Medical Records: HealthMark Group fulfills all patient requests for CEENTA medical records at no charge to the patient. After logging in, select "Submit Request" from the menu options and complete all required fields to provide authorization directly to HealthMark. A notification will be sent via mail or email once your request is processed and available for download. Very accommodating experience. Checked in today for post op check up. Waiting room fills up and I was the first one called. Nurse examined me, quick eye temperature and eye test. 2 minutes later Dr Mathys examined my chart from nurses comments and he was very pleased with the healing. He then explained what to expect over the next 2 weeks, and the eye will heal like new without any recognition of surgery or scar. Never any discomfort. Extremely pleased to have a surgeon who is dedicated to helping his patients with all there eye care needs. Thank you Dr Mathys and your entire staff.

This place canceled my appointment and 3! Others behind me. All for same day 5/16. My wife took the day off to take me since once they dilate my eyes I will not be able to drive. Office Manger KAYLA RAY! SAYS WE'RE SORRY. WE CAN RESCHEDULE YOU. REALLY WHO PAYS FOR MY WIFE LOST DAY PAY/ PERSONAL DAY? They tell me I have an appointment for today but they are having computer problems.

Then tell me they canceled it 4/18 with a phone call or proof they did. Someone reached out to me the next day to tell me the Dr had a emergency. That's new bc I was told they canceled it a month ago. So he knew in 30 days into the future he was going to have something come up. I WAITED FOR 3 MONTHS FOR THIS APPOINTMENT BC MY DR SAID THEY ARE THE BEST. STAY AWAY!

So after me telling this place I would rather die then let one of them butchers touch me. They send me a letter saying bc of the way I acted the day I found out (on property) and the phone call where they kept asking me to come back. Telling them cold day in hell before I would use them. A termination of patient relationship letter. Remember we live in one of the busiest cities. You throw a rock and hit 10 Dr's and hit another 5 before it stops skipping. Good luck and YOU have been WARNED to stay away.

I arrived on time and was promptly helped and led back to the examining room. The nurse Simone made sure our information was correct and had a great attitude. Dr Hoover and his assistant were quick to enter the examining room and do his initial examination. The whole experience brought great confidence to me and my wife. Dr Hoover and his assistant were very thorough in their explanations of the whole process, both pre- and post-op, as well as the procedures themselves. Thank you very much!

I've hit my limit with them. It's an assembly line. If you want to feel like a number, this is the place. You can't reach anyone. You call, get placed on hold, and it's "24 people in front of you". You can't simply just reach your own doctor. I saw my doctor on Monday for a severe sinus infection after my surgery, was told I'd get getting a prescription, they called in wrong thing to a compounding facility that will ship it to me for a cost (though I was told it would be free by CEENTA - it's not) to arrive in 2-3 business days. 1: there has to be a compounding pharmacy closer that I could pick up from and 2. making a patient wait for a week to get needed medication is wrong. and then 3: it's not even the right medication but I can't reach my own Dr. to discuss that in a timely manner because it's just a giant operation with one line to call in on.

My Dr. is nice but this place makes you feel like you're not even human and the runaround is extremely frustrating. I haven't event gotten to the part about being quoted one amount for surgery, pre-paying that amount, and then being billed $700 more?! So now I owe more money, billing is rude and seems to know nothing when I called (and had to wait on hold forever), and now I'm sick again after surgery was supposed to help stop that and I can't get the right medication in a timely fashion or even reach my doctor to try and clear it up. Most frustrating medical experience in my life. Go ANYWHERE else.

Dr. Browning, is a wonderful, knowledgeable and patience doctor. No matter how busy he is, he will take time and explain the situation to you. I have known him since 2008. I am happy to have him as my doctor.

Unprofessional in every sense of the word. My son's appointment with Dr. White was canceled days before we were scheduled due to "unforeseen reasons". The cancelation message stated that I should expect a call from office staff to reschedule. I never received a call, instead, I received a letter in the mail with a random date/time in sloppy highlighter.

We couldn't make that appointment they decided for us. After waiting on hold for hours to reschedule, an office worker made me an appointment with Dr. Stewart at a different location. That appointment was also canceled (this time 10 minutes before the appointment) after I'd driven an hour to get there because he doesn't see children. The office worker should have known that.

We still don't have an appointment and it's been MONTHS of waiting to get an exam. Looking elsewhere for a better office and staff and should there be a possible cancer diagnosis down the line, contacting a lawyer.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Hoover and his team are. I drove from Mobile to see him. He listened and scheduled my surgery. My surgery was painless and he was wonderful at post op visits. I would highly recommend him. I know why he was voted best doctor in Charlotte.

Dr. Gibson was very friendly and personable. He treated me accordingly for my double ear infection and further prevention. I didn't feel rushed, and he made sure all my questions were answered before I left! The nurse was also very friendly and asked many questions that may be related to my visit.

I wish I could give zero stars for their abysmal customer service. My mom went to the South Park location of Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat for a routine eye appointment this morning. She arrived at 10:30am for a 10:40am appointment. She was then left to sit in a crowded waiting room for TWO AND A HALF HOURS with zero apologies for the wait. When she was finally taken back to see the doctor at 1:00pm, she was met by a rude nurse.

When my mom expressed her frustration with waiting for well over two hours, the nurse only said that someone called out that day (no apology) and that it wasn't her fault. Wow! When my mom finally saw the doctor, she once again expressed her frustration. and yet again received no apology, just more excuses about being understaffed. At that point, she decided she didn't want to spend one more minute or a dime of her money on this provider, asked to cancel her appointment, and she left. She won't be back, and I thought other people should know about the terrible service. I certainly wouldn't have the time or patience to wait over an hour, let alone 2.5.

You cannot get through on the phone. It's NOT due to Covid. It was this way before. Dr Moss was sarcastic to me. I can't get through to the optical department. Thank God I have my Rx. I will say Dr Atlas is nice. And his assistant is extremely nice. Does anyone care about these negative reviews?
