Michael G Howard OD Your eyes are continually changing throughout your life. The vision you are born with (20/20 vision, nearsightedness, farsightedness, etc.) will not be the exact same vision you have later in life. The experienced team at Atwal Eye Care can tackle any vision challenge you experience - at every milestone of your life. Our goal is to keep you living an excellent quality of life and enjoying all of your daily activities by improving your vision. A cataract is the clouding of the normally clear human lens.
Services
Your vision will change many times throughout your life - you may develop presbyopia (the need for reading glasses), cataracts, macular degeneration or other eye conditions. While Dr. Amar Atwal and Dr. Ephraim Atwal are the primary eye surgeons at Atwal Eye Care, they rely on their outstanding staff of ophthalmologists, optometrists, technicians, opticians and support personnel to provide the full range of eye care for our patients.
Atwal Eye Care has set our own high standards for every type of vision care or cosmetic procedure we perform. Our patients are the most important part of our practice. Our goal is that each patient's experience be pleasant and efficient with an optimal outcome. Comprehensive Consultations to determine candidacy for LASIK, cataract surgery, cosmetic procedures and more.
LASIK was approved as a vision correction procedure by the FDA in 1996. It is performed to help people with refractive errors in their eyes (nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism) see clearly without glasses or contacts. Millions of people have had LASIK worldwide and many of those have achieved 20/20 vision or better after the procedure.
However, if your cornea is too steep or flat - or your eye is too long or short - you will end up with blurry vision at near, far or all distances. This is because the cornea is not allowing light to properly bend (refract) and focus on the retina (the back of the eye). Myopia (nearsightedness): blurry distance vision, clear up-close vision - caused by a steep cornea or longer eye so light focuses in front of the retina.
