I was a patient of a wonderful Dr at Dune's family health and Lower Umpqua hospital, they ran my Dr off as well as several other Drs. Not long ago I started receiving bills from said Hospital. I requested an itemized list of what the bill was for, I received a computer print out that I couldn't make head's or tails of. It then went to a collection agency and again I asked for an itemized list (in English) and received nothing.

Now I have been served with small claims court paperwork to collect a bill that they will not explain. I have spoken to many other folks that have found BETTER HEALTH CARE and they have incountered the same thing. If Lower Umpqua wants to spend more money loosing a court case, so be it. See you in Court.

The ER nurses are rude disrespectful and arrogant like they have a God complex. Regardless how many years they have worked there they should still have bed side mannerism when it comes to children. Especially when it comes to crying children. The most ill-mannered hospital I have ever visited. How are they still open is beyond me. On the other hand the doctor on call was very nice and respectful and very courteous to my child's needs.

Thank you. Update: Took my child to another hospital and yes she did have a fracture in her pinky finger. There was no need for rudeness from your hospital seriously. Maybe retraining in Etiquette should be a hospital mandate.

Horrible customer service was hung up on by the business offices while asking for financial assistance paperwork. Also was told my due date for my bill would be moved to a later date since I was working on paperwork and trying to get financial assistance worked out then was surprised to a bill saying I'm late to pay. When I called to ask about it I was told that no one marked anything down on my file and that the paperwork was never sent. Then I was hung up on.

Very professional and very kind staff in the ER. I was there with a gash in my head. My puppies are very strong and they darted in a direction I was not expecting and I fell a on asphalt and hit the back of my head. The EMT''s were very good. They made sure that my head did not move during the ride ER. There professionalism showed in every action they took!

Edit: I've got nothing but good things to say about the wound care nurses at LUH. They are all so kind, knowledgeable and focused on patient care. The rest of the hospital is worse, is that's possible, than the way it was when I made the first review. It's horrible. Patient privacy doesn't matter. I sat and listened to a woman's medical history, what was going on with her at the moment, and the fact that a rectal examination was in order.

I listened to the doctor assigned to her call another doctor and discuss her medication list. Professionalism is lost on this hospital. They misdiagnosed my husband in the past and what I've been through with these blood clots over the last four months, I was dismissed as quickly as I walked in because they didn't have staff available. Ridiculous. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Original review: The only reason I bother to give one star is the stellar performance of the staff that checked my husband in last night.

The nurses were super nice, but lacked knowledge. When asked what a sphygmomanometer is, neither were able to tell what is was, though one thought she might have used one in another department. The doctor was arrogant and cocky with no bedside manner to speak of. He acted as if he were above answering questions, though my husband and I both have extensive medical knowledge.

My husband's pain was dismissed and not addressed at all until I insisted and then wasn't addressed appropriately. In the end, the idiot doctor sent my husband home with a potential bowel obstruction and an appointment with a surgeon. I have given up completely on the medical profession, but I will fight until my last breath for proper care for my husband.

Blood clots and bowel obstruction may be pre-existing, but it doesn't make it go away because it was there before he got there. It has to be treated and he and I have continuously been denied proper medical care by cocky, uneducated, indoctrinated people. Just an update, he still wasn't ok the next day so I took him to BAH. They kept him for two days. Amazing what happens when someone knows what they are doing.

I want to thank all your staff in the emergency room for being so kind to me. This was my first experience at your hospital. They were very helpful. Sorry i cant remember your names. You all are very professional. At 2am in the morning is not a place i wanted to be. But they were very nice. You all should get 5 stars.

These crooks charged me $7000 to be seen for 10 minutes. Then sent me to collections even though I paid monthly on time. great place to get your bank accounts and credit score destroyed.

Last February, 2018, I was driving and felt sick. I then pulled over my vehicle and lost consciousness. I had stopped on the soft shoulder and the vehicle slid off and came to a rest in the ditch. Someone had passed by and saw this and called the police. The ambulance came and checked me out. He alerted me that he was extremely concerned because I had an irregular heart rate and wanted me to come to the hospital.

I was scared by his concern. I went to the ER and the Nurses were wonderful. I told them that if they were going to give me anything, I would refuse anything with narcotics or opiates. Shortly after, the ER Doctor came in and was hostile with me. He then lectured me about how he did not vote for the legalization of marijuana. There was nothing I needed to say to his hostility.

A year later I received a 2500 dollar bill for the services. I did not understand why my insurance did not take care of it. After straightening things out with my health insurance. I was sent another bill for over 4000 dollars. There was apparently another 2100 dollar charge added on for the ambulance ride, this is after over a year later and had been 2500 dollars all this time.

And the additional charge was added after my insurance said they would process it, 13 months later. A lot of bad press about health care and questionable business practices, now I see why.
