Volunteers are an essential part of ECMH's health care team, as they help us deliver quality, compassionate care to our patients. Volunteers can serve our community in two ways, as: 1) Sunshine Ladies, and 2) Hospital Volunteers. Both men and women are encouraged to become volunteers! The Sunshine Ladies are a group of women volunteers who fill a number of rolls such as serving as greeters, assisting with escorting patients to various areas of the hospital, clerical duties, selling newspapers, popcorn and snacks.
The El Campo Medical Foundation has been in existence since 1974 and remains an active board with goals to help maintain and improve our local hospital. Starting in 1974, a group of business, civic and medical community leaders recognized the need to update and modernize the health care facilities in El Campo.

Send our caregiver for our daughter to the ER in excruciating pain only for the doctor to belittle her about her weight. And y'all wonder why people skip right over the EC hospital and go out of town. He needs to mind his business, show some compassion and do his job! He didnt know her journey!

I will be the 1st to admit that I was hesitant about having my Dad at this hospital to treat his sickness from some of the reviews I read. He had to be brought to the ER 7 weeks ago because he had pneumonia covid. He went directly to ICU and spent about 3 weeks there, in which he received very professional and loving care. It was a pleasure dealing with the nurses that I kept in contact with, like Alyssa, Eileen, and Katrina.

You all took excellent care of my Dad, and got him to where he needed to be to survive. I will always be grateful to you all that took care of him. He has been in physical therapy in PAM, Victoria since leaving your facility and is scheduled to come home tomorrow!

Horrible communication. I was hung up on by the nurse supervisor. I called back only to be put on hold. All of this after my Dad was diagnosed with COVID (and has dementia) and my mother approved me to receive information on him. She was very argumentative and would not listen. This is NOT where you want your loved one!

My 84 year old mother was in a serious car accident and was brought to the ER at El Campo Memorial Hospital. She was treated immediately with kindness, compassion and gentleness. The level of care was surprising to both of us. When the Doctor suspected she could possibly have more serious injuries requiring a trauma center, he and the staff quickly managed to get her transported via Life Flight to the medical center. Their initial emergency care and thorough exam and efficiency no doubt saved her life.

ER staff was wonderful. I was admitted and I received excellent service from the nursing staff and physicians. It is good to have a great hospital in our small town.

Worse place I have been to in my life took my wife into the er for her Gallbladder. It was Inflamed with gallstones bed side Manor. Er was better then great her First two nurses when she was admitted were great. From lunch on went to hell. Doctors gave her lunch Spaghetti with meat sauce cauliflower broccoli and corn steamed one she's there for a Call bladder issue and you're going to give her grease meat sauce and in proper diet.

She was told they were going to send her a bland diet never did it. When dinner came ham with gravy on it sweat Potatoes well knowing that they messed my wife out that Facility I would highly not recommend for anyone

My best friend went in because she wasn't feeling well and the "doctor" at the time was rude and very un professional for no reason. She looked at my friend and asked her "what do you want us to do" and made a smart remark "well it's not a stroke!?" I did ask her does it have to be a stroke and For her to acknowledge because it was not called for and she decided to argue with me and said "I'm the doctor you came to see me!"

Too many issues with this facility in many areas, nursing, physical therapy and physicians! It's unfortunate because this is closest place to receive "medical" care for this community, where most have lived here all their lives. Multiple mishaps that were addressed ONLY after Administrator was involved. Not minor issues ( ie: GI bleed, CVA, unprofessional comments from physicians such as "too old it's just process of dying", fall the one time family member went home to get clothes, left in chair alone unrestrained in another occasion!) Hmm but building another facility?!##%%
