I am writing today about the experience my husband went through when he had stomach issues and saw his primary physician this morning. Your covid policies need to be reworked when it comes to doctor notes. Just because someone did not take the covid test should not mean they should be denied a doctor note stating that they were there that day. My husband had to undergo covid testing for stomach issues!

Just to get a note for his work. That is not right! You should at least give a note stating the patient was seen that day. That is just good practice when people have jobs they need to keep. Not everything requires a covid test and should not be a factor in at least getting a note stating the patient was there at a certain time that day. This is an uncalled for and deeply concerning policy that should be reconsidered and revised.

I know case counts for covid are going up and staff need to offer a test but regardless if a patient takes the test or refuses a note should still be given out stating the patient was still there at a certain time if needed. Deeply concerned and unhappy with CGH's policy with this it goes way to far. I hope CGH will reconsider their process on doctor notes.

Minimal care should be the mission statement for this facility. I am so disappointed at the care given to my mother in law. She went in with flu, pneumonia, and sepsis. After dumping 2500cc of iv fluid into her, they had to give her lasix to remove the extra fluid. No I and O (measure in and out of fluid) with this issue. No breathing treatment unless she asked.

She was too sick to ask. No cough medicine given although she would cough to the point of gagging. Nurses couldn't get out of the room fast enough ( and she is a nice, pleasant lady)! IV antibodies given only every 48 hours instead of the normal 24 hours for that specific drug (I understand this is a doctor's order issue). No excuses for this lack of care. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and did my training at this hospital. It is not what it used to be.

I had an appointment on May 20,2020. I brought my own Personal protective equipment, face mask and nitrile gloves for my protection. I put on my mask and gloves as I walked in the door. I was "greeted" by a woman whose question was, "What are you doing here?" I replied that I was there for an appointment. I was instructed to take my gloves off because they were not allowed.

She told me to read a list of symptoms to see if I had any. As I read the list, she stuck a thermometer in my ear. She only explained what she was doing with the thermometer as she stuck it in my ear. I reluctantly took my gloves off and they had me rub some hand sanitizer on my hands before I was allowed to proceed to my appointment. I went to the doctor's receptionist, she gave me some papers, and said to take a seat and the doctor would be right with me.

As I sat in one of the chairs, I saw dust where the armrest meets the chair. So, I was not allowed to wear gloves for my protection, but it was clear that the place hadn't been sanitized, or even we'll cleaned. When the nurse came to the examination room, she asked me how I was. I told her that I didn't feel safe there. As she placed the blood pressure cuff around my arm, I saw a piece of lint on the Velcro.

When the doctor came in, I told him I didn't feel safe in there, as I was not allowed to wear PPE that the CDC had just issued guidelines about wearing when one is exposed. Taking someone's temperature shows nothing if an infected person is asymptomatic. They can still spread the virus to other people. On my way out, I saw a few of the greeters/screeners at the front door in a little group talking and laughing.

No 6 ft social distancing there. This appointment process is very hypocritical when the protection of the patient is secondary to dusty chairs, dirty blood pressure cuffs, and people who are working, or volunteering, can't even keep a simple 6ft social distance.

Overall I had a great experience with the doctor himself in OB. I like that you get to chose which doctor your comfortable with over time to deliver your baby. However, the nurse I had didn't really give me clear instructions of what was going on. I was told before I saw the doctor that I would get to hear the babies heartbeat (mind you this was my first visit with a new doctor at 14 weeks I was anxious and excited) and that never happened.

I also wasn't sure at the end of the visit what was going on if I was free to go or not, did I need blood work if so where do I go, will I still get to hear the babies heartbeat? The nurse came in and told me I could go and asked ME if I needed blood work. How would I know? She also mentioned nothing about the babies heartbeat. This is my first child so this whole experience is new and exciting so when you don't know what's going on it's very unsettling.

I then was relieved and happy to hear we could schedule an ultrasound in a week! Although no one could take away from the special experience of seeing your own little life, the ultrasound tech didn't share my excitement. Maybe it's normal for them to only want measurements and not really care. I guess I just expected a more compassionate experience.

My dad came with me and asked questions and she didn't even seem happy to answer them or thorough at all. I didn't really ask questions due to her uninviting attitude. Maybe she was just having a bad day? I hope my experience gets better with the nurses and ultrasound tech over time because I really liked my doctor he was thorough and seemed to care he even congratulated me!

I would like to stay and continue to give CGH a chance. I hope these ladies have better days ahead at future appointments. I may be expecting too much but I just figure if your a nurse or ultrasound tech you must have a passion for helping others and have extensive knowledge on what is going on. I will definitely update my rating if things change. UPDATE: I've had two visits since this review with the nursing staff and one ultrasound and I'm happy to say things have drastically changed.

My last two visits were very informative and have been great! My doctor is great (as usual) and baby is growing and healthy. I'm very pleased with the improvements and am happy I chose CGH and stayed.

This hospital is an excellent facility. At least the cardiology department is. I was there for 3 days and received the best possible care anyone could ask for. The doctors are not only brilliant, but have the best personalities I've ever encountered in a hospital. And the nurses make you feel like you're friends. I'd give the entire staff 10 stars if I could!
