The Neurology Center, begun as a 2-physician practice in 1969 in downtown Washington, is now the premier independent provider of neurological services in the DC Metro area. We offer our patients, referring physicians and community seven convenient clinical locations with neurodiagnostic services, and an accredited sleep lab. We participate with most major insurance plans and offer telemed and in-office visits as appropriate. Enjoying a reputation for excellence, our physicians received their education and training at the top institutions in the country and all are either Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology and sub-specialties.
Services
Many times we can schedule patients for same day or next day appointments. Please be sure to let us know if you have an urgent need. If you are a return patient and your physician is not available, one of the Physician Assistants may be available or a telehealth visit may be an option.
You MUST present your current insurance ID card at EVERY visit. If a referral is required by your insurance, it is your responsibility to obtain it and bring it to the appointment. Copayments and coinsurances are due at the time of service. The Neurology Center only accepts checks and credit cards, no cash.
Diagnostic testing is generally scheduled separately from your office visit. However, depending upon the modality of the test your doctor ordered and need for insurance preauthorization, we are very happy to offer a same-day opening if requested. We do utilize a wait list. Typically we are able to move patients to sooner appointments but there is no guarantee.
Dr. Ezra Cohen grew up in Rockville, Maryland, a few blocks from the office where he currently practices. After undergraduate studies in history at the University of Michigan, he received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where he also completed his neurology residency.

I'd give this office a higher rating if the login/check-in process wasn't so difficult, and the staff wasn't so non-empathetic to helping patients with the process. I really hate that the office is TOTALLY PAPERFREE, and appears to be printer-free as well. So far I liked the one doctor that I saw. However, not knowing what to expect on the day one has tests scheduled is horrible!

I had prior experiences with this organization before it went paper-free, and it was much better than it is now! Check-in is online, and is very unaccommodating. I couldn't make it work properly the first time, and had to do it in person with nonempathetic staff. It is the only doctor's office I know of that will make patients do CAPTCHA screens--Hello, I have some neurological issues that include a TBI! This isn't helpful!

I have been a patient at the Neurology Center Chevy Chase under the care of Dr. Savani. The staff and Dr. Savani are not just knowledgeable in their field but always listening to their patients and always kind.

Caregivers and most staff are amazing. Dr. Yusuf is great but prior authorizations are very difficult and sometimes getting records can be painful. Dr Yusuf has been diligently trying to track down my issue and exhausting every avenue.

I've been a patient of Dr Hari Hall for years - first saw her to treat migraines and she's also helped me with profound flying anxiety. I value her and feel she's got my best interest at heart. She's started helping me recently with a more serious CNS issue and I feel like I'm in good hands! She's great!

I returned to the Neurology Center after almost 10 years. I made the mistake of seeing another neurologist.wrong decision and even longer review. Anyway, I chose Dr. Bronder as my provider. During my first visit he conducted an extensive consultation with me followed by a physical examination. I was in a dire situation having had a resurgence of my debilitating migraines and unable to do absolutely anything. Dr. Bronder prescribed an injection treatment and mentioned that it had even provided his wife with success.

I took the medication for two months and upon my return to Dr. Bronder's office I was migraine free! I am forever grateful to this provider. He is the predecessor to the retired GOAT neurologist and it makes sense that he was chosen! Dr. Bronder is careful and compassionate and undoubtedly knowledgeable. He even takes the time to escort his patients from the waiting room to the exam room and to the receptionist desk after the appointment. I highly recommend him as a neurologist but please do not book up his calendar so that I cannot ever get another appointment. Sent from my iPhone

I saw Dr. Altemimi recently and I could not be happier. He is one of the best doctor I have ever seen. He is thorough, gentle, caring and a superb diagnostician. With a step-by-step approach, he put to rest an ailment for which I saw dozens of the best doctors in the country and spent huge amounts of money. I felt a cloud has been lifted from over my head after my consultation with him him. I rate him 5++++

I have a parent with Alzheimer's who is over 90 and waited 6 months for a zoom appointment which the practice cancelled the day of the appointment They then informed me the next available appointment was 5 months away. If he wanted to see a different neurologist sooner he would have to choose one and request a change of providers to his original neurologist, wait for them to approve that and then reschedule. Seems like a lot for a practice to ask of someone over 90 with Alzheimer's

Today I had my first appointment at the Neurology Center, where I was referred by my internist who is one of the top in DC. The front desk staff was very welcoming and made everything very efficient so that I hardly had to wait to see the doctor. Upon meeting Dr. Savani, I was immediately comfortable. He is extremely personable and calming, and also very thorough with his history taking and his examination. It's clear that he really cares about his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Savani to anyone looking for a neurologist.

Dr. Hari Hall may be short, but she is head and shoulders above most medical doctors that I have ever met in the more than 65 years that I have been seeing doctors (35 of them in the DC area). The front office staff is welcoming, courteous, helpful, informed, and professional. I do share with others some frustration with long wait times on the telephone, which might be alleviated by a more user friendly patient portal.

This is a great practice. The doctors are highly sought after. They are prompt and thorough. The only reason they get four stars is because it is difficult to get an appointment within four to five weeks of your request. From a clinical standpoint, this is a great problem to have. It means that people are pleased with the care they are getting so they have a larger patient roster. From a personal perspective and depending on your needs, that can be a pain.

The front desk staff was outstanding. They were efficient, knowledgeable about office procedures, and organized. They took the time to explain and review what my next steps would be, They were also friendly and polite. The physician was excellent. He moved swiftly, stayed on point, and was attentive to my responses and questions. He explained clearly what the next steps will be.

I am happy to let everyone know how great the Neurology Center/Chevy Chase is. My primary care doctor referred me there because of neuropathy symptoms. He advised that every doctor there is first class, and any will serve me well. I was assigned to Dr. Nabil Altememi, and how fortunate for me. He is brilliant, thorough, experienced, confident and a great communicator. After two appointments now, I am confident in my experience and my judgment. I commend the Neurology Center to you, and I specifically commend Dr. Altememi. Good luck.

Do not EVER use this office. They are dishonest, incompetent, and ridiculous. This office used my daughter's name and insurance to order a medication; once she cancelled her appointment due to a medical condition giving the office more than 2 weeks advanced notice, they failed to cancel the order for the medication. They received the shipment for the medicine, did not call and tell my daughter that they had it, and I didn't find out until I received the bill from the insurance company for $1400+. My next stop - small claims. This office is the worse and I would not recommend them to anyone. DISHONEST and INCOMPETENT.

I had a great first appointment. I felt that Dr. Lin brought me in quickly and was very thorough and thoughtful. I was also seeing a psychologist and she wanted to give me meds that Dr. Lin had said not to take. I need a follow up appointment to get approval to take these meds or something similar. I couldn't get an appointment until three months later.

My wife was referred to a neurologist and I suggested Dr. Lin. She called a month after I called and got an appointment about 2 weeks later, earlier than my appointment. My wife doesn't have a car and would need to take a bus which would be inconvenient. Since I drive I called to try to get an appointment on the same day as her. I was told Dr. Lin was completely booked up for that month.

I mentioned that my wife was given dates in that same month and was told that there were several appointments reserved for new patients but not for current patients. I told the receptionist that I was frustrated with that policy because I another doctor has indicated that I need a new medication and I can't start taking it without Dr. Lin's approval. I asked the receptionist to relay my frustration to Dr. Lin and he refused.

I knew that I would immediately like Dr. Debbie Lin the moment she opened the door and gave me a VERY warm greeting. As a new patient, I had many questions and was trying to quickly ask them all (since most appts. are 5-8 minutes). Unlike most physicians, Dr. Lin abruptly stopped me and encouraged me to slow down because she did not want me to feel as though I needed to rush. Dr. Lin was thorough and had a fantastic way of explaining information that was difficult to understand and included some APPROPRIATE humor, which I appreciated.

I LOVE her bedside manner and even though I had to drive @ 2hrs. (w/nova traffic) to get to her office (which is above average.confused about the reviews), it was well worth it! The office staff, which can make/break a medical practice, could not have been more friendly, professional or polite. I look forward to developing a long-lasting doctor/patient relationship with Dr. Debbie Lin and her staff.

Please avoid this practice! If it had a negative star on Yelp, I would really give a negative star. My mother had a MRI done prescribed by her primary physician and I wanted to make an appointment. Unfortunately, the receptionist said that my mother has to see the doctor she saw before (which is about a year and half ago and also that doctor is overbooked for three weeks).

So I asked if my mother can be seen with another doctor in the practice and the receptionist said "No". Isn't the doctor's job to cure patients? I am just speechless with this practice.

I have to write a review because it's so rare to have such a great experience at a medical practice these days. Not only was my appointment on time, the physician was actually waiting for me to finish filling out my history forms. Dr. Altememi took the time to get a detailed history and did a thorough exam and explained everything clearly and made sure I understood my options and the plan of care. The office staff was friendly, and efficient.

I'm not sure why this office has a relatively low rating. The building is old and a little outdated but it is clean and well maintained. The actual suite was also clean and the check in process was efficient and fast. The associate that checked me in was very friendly. Doctor Vidwan was very nice and super knowledgeable. She provided tons of insight into my ailment and various solutions.

I felt comfortable with her and trusted her expertise. I have a follow up appointment in about a month to continue to try to get a grip on my migraines. I'll provide an update at that time.

I have seen Dr Melissa Carswell annually for the past three years for neuropsyche testing. She has amazing expertise in her specialty area, empathy and a manner that creates such a comfortable environment; it has made what is sometimes uncomfortable, even painful, event somewhat do-able. The results she has teezed out have been so beneficial to my continuing care, and "user friendly" results that give me guidance and an action plan I can manage.

Her empathy- or sympathy have been very evident and supportive. I am convinced she has my best interest in mind, and she is very motivated to relieve cognitive/emotional pain for the patient. I have recently gotten a second psychiatric consult based on Dr. Carswell's recommendation. Her hunches were spot on, and the resulting benefit to me will be literally life changing I have hope that I have not had for a few years. I credit Dr. Carswell for this renewed hope to to live a productive life despite my challenges. I highly recommend her!

I saw dr Debbie Lin based on a referral and that she had a good bedside manner. I found quite the opposite. She laughed and made jokes about my diagnosis and gave me a dire prognosis and referred me to a neurosurgeon. She had stated I would need surgery and could be paralyzed easily. She was thorough with getting a correct diagnosis, but the rest was awful.

The neurosurgeon I saw after laughed and said, "did she say you needed surgery?". In short, I do not need surgery, I may never need surgery nor ever have symptoms and I will not become paralyzed and the 2 weeks I spent waiting to see the neurosurgeon agonizing over it and how my kids would fare and feeling like my life was over make me highly NOT recommend this doctor. The neurosurgeon suggested that she might've been so dramatic so that I would not blow it off and not follow up.the stress she cause was completely unnecessary.

My first visit to a neurologist was at the beginning of December 2016, I met with Dr. Satinsky. He was just great, he listened to me, he gave me my options, pros, cons, the full enchilada. I was very impressed and the best part is that he is so easy to take to. Most doctor just sit behind their computers and he sat with me face to face and addressed my problems.

I love the office staff, they are so kind and helpful and go the extra mile. My doctor (Dr. E) is a little quirky and I didn't like him at first but I've been seeing him for 8 years and I love him now. I can tell he's really thinking hard about how to solve a problem.

I came here to have a test conducted. My usual neurology office was nearby where I work but getting this particular test was more convenient to do closer to home. First off, I didn't see any of the doctors here, so this review is mainly for my experience with the office and the staff. Finding the office - the medical building has a separate entrance a little further up on 7 locks road, but your GPS should pick up on it and let you know when to turn.

The parking lot can get a little crowded but the neurology office has a few reserved spots up front. The staff isn't the most friendly, warm or helpful in the world from scheduling the appointment over the phone to check in to check out. I haven't gotten my bill yet (it's only been a few days) so I can't speak on that experience but based upon what's going on thus far I'm bracing myself to call my insurance company and working with them directly like I did for another medical office. I'm used to dealing with staff that are efficient, polite, and keep their personal opinions to themselves unless asked.

But not here. I got an earful here and it lead to me snapping back a few times. Not fun. The test itself is already unpleasant as it is, but add to it unfriendly, cold, rude techs and staff that don't really help to make your experience a little less unpleasant.well.it just makes everything suck all the more.
