We saw Dr. VanNurden and she and all staff members we dealt with were courteous, compassionate, competent and very professional. They were able to get us in quickly for a serious eye condition and facilitated a referral to a retinal specialist that same day. Dr. Golez, who was on call, went above and beyond compassionate care to help ensure that we were able to fulfill an eyedrop prescription on a holiday weekend! We were so impressed. Thank you!

Just thought I'd weigh in about my visits to Cascadia eye. So, my first visit was last month in March (eye exam) and I saw the female optometrist. She was extremely professional and I was impressed. From the front desk staff (including whoever answers the phone when you call) all the way through the technician I had on that visit, everyone was very professional.
The woman who checked me in said, "Oh, I see this is your first visit to our clinic, Welcome!" That was the nicest thing. She smiled and was genuinely friendly. Yesterday, we had a second visit. I had a potential retinal tear and needed someone to examine my eye. They not only worked me in to coordinate with our ferry availability from San Juan Island, but again, everyone was kind, professional, offices are clean.
There are no noxious odors from air fresheners or candles. Staff isn't wearing clothing laundered in stuff like Bounce (which gives some people terrible migraines). I had a different technician this time. She was also awesome. The doctor who examined my eye was a different person from the one I saw before, but he was also awesome. Sitting in the waiting room after getting my eyes dilated, I spoke to two other patients.
One had previous cataract surgery and lasik there. She said she and her husband had both had surgeries at the center and were extremely pleased. I will definitely go back. It is nice to have a clinic where folks are kind, professional, seem to enjoy their jobs, and treat you well. They are good listeners and took good notes to carefully evaluate my symptoms. I'm pretty picky and would say they rate 10/10.

Six months ago, I had an eye exam and ordered my glasses at Cascadia Eye. I have a very high prescription so I need glasses when I am unable to wear my contacts. The first pair of glasses the prescription was not correct and had prism in the lenses that I do not need. I literally could not see to get around my house and my eyes were being pulled in different directions.
The second pair the prescription was not correct either and I was unable to read anything at near and my distance vision was a strain. The third pair had rectangle distortions in the lenses that caused me to look straight through blurry patches as if there were giant smudges on the lenses. The fourth pair was sent back without me even seeing them due to the prescription being wrong again and the frames being damaged, causing them to need to be replaced.
The fifth and final pair were also not correct, my distance vision was blurry and it was a strain to be able to read anything up close. After all this, I contacted Cascadia Eye and asked for a full refund. They wanted the opportunity to make them again for the sixth time and I said no. I was tired of waiting to be able to see. I returned the last pair of glasses before Thanksgiving and still do not have a refund check for them!

I am very disappointed in a company that feels they go above and beyond for their patients because I feel they completely failed me. Since I have been waiting on my refund I had another company make my glasses with my current prescription and they turned out perfect the first time!

I've had to wait close to an hour for the doctor twice and all I needed was a new contact prescription and the subsequent boxes. Maybe it's worth it for more serious eye surgery consults, etc., but I've never had to jump through this many hoops to get a box of contacts in the 10 years I've been wearing them. The tech in my first appointment was about to numb my eyes (a test I've never experienced before since I've only had the puff test previously) and I had no idea what she was going to do with the yellow dropper she was holding in front of me.
I had to ask her what it was. My third and what I hoped was final appointment was rescheduled, but then canceled without them telling me. I called them to confirm earlier in the day and that's the first I had heard about it being cancelled. Hopefully I get a call when the contacts arrive. Overall I am not impressed.

I live in the San Juan islands which is an hour ferry boat ride in an hour drive to Cascadia eye In Mount Vernon. Today the ferry boats for running late which made me 15 minutes late to my appointment so I called them along the way and the lady said it was fine but once I got there I had a wait at the door for a good 10 minutes getting asked covid-19 questions and getting my temperature checked As well as my children.
Once Inside They told me I was too late and needed to reschedule. Not only am I a single mom with a new born baby and a special needs 8 year old driving frantically in my car To this appointment but now I'm also out of a $100 ferry ticket in A Day of Work.

Absolutely love the staff here! Always so friendly, professional, and caring. From the check in to the end of your appointment your always in good hands. Always feel very welcomed, never have a wait longer than 5 minutes to be taken back, beautiful and clean clinic! Would highly recommend to ANYONE!

I had wonderful care. The Dr. takes his time to not only know your eyes, but to take every available step to ensure the health of your eyes. I wanted a procedure that was not in my best interest for the future of my eyes. However the Dr. did do a procedure w the same ending results. The results are better than I dreamed. I recommend anyone asking to go to Mt. Vernon Cascadia Eye.

Wonderful, clean environment. Everyone was friendly and always explained procedures clearly for me, even before I had them done. I have complete faith and trust in the staff, doctors and surgeons. I have already recommended the Cascadia Eye Clinic to friends needing help with their eyes. To anyone else who may ask me, I will tell them to call the Cascadia Eye Clinic, they won't be sorry.

Very thorough and professional. Employees appear to enjoy working with the patients and are well informed. Loved it as much as anyone could love going to a doctor and having surgery. My wife has had more contact and procedures done than I, and she completely trusts our doctor and nurses there, also.

My visit to Cascadia Eye was very pleasant and a fine experience from beginning to end. I was warmly welcomed at the desk, had very little waiting time to see the doctor. I felt the nurse knew her job well, was thorough and very friendly while doing her work. Dr. Pereira was delightful commenting on what he was doing in his examination and answering my questions. I was extremely pleased with everyone at Cascadia Eye and will be happy to return for my next appointment.
