Note that our clinics are limiting exam areas to patients only unless the patient requires physical or language assistance. We recommend all other guests, family members, etc. wait in their vehicles. Our clinics follow CDC requirements for sanitizing our offices to prevent the spread of infection. We continue to use CDC recommended products. Technology is constantly changing and our team is determined to make sure that our patients have the very best treatment options. We specialize in the management of diseases involving vision, specifically the retina and vitreous.

What is Avastin? Avastin is a drug that can be injected into the eye for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration. Avastin was originally developed to treat various types of cancer, and works by blocking the growth of abnormal blood cells. While Lucentis, a similar drug, is often administered in the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration, many believe that Avastin is similarly effective and a much less expensive treatment option. How does Avastin Work? Avastin works by blocking the production of a chemical called "vascular endothelial growth factor" (VEGF).
The word laser stands for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation." A laser is a concentrated beam of light, created when an electric current passes through a special material. Photodisruptive lasers (YAG and excimer): The light cuts or sculpts the tissue, similar to a knife. Retinal tears or holes: The retina is the inner layer of the eye that senses light and helps you to see. If the retina tears, it can separate from the back wall of the eye. This is called a detached retina, and it can cause you to lose sight.
Diabetic retinopathy is a common eye disease in diabetic patients that have poorly controlled blood sugars. Diabetic retinopathy is caused by damage to the blood vessels in the tissue in the back of the eye. Sometimes these blood vessels leak fluid, or in other cases new abnormal blood vessels grow on the surface of the retina.
Macular degeneration is caused by deterioration of retina. There are two forms of Macular Degeneration, dry macular degenerations and wet macular degeneration. In dry macular degeneration areas of the macular deteriorates. With wet macular degeneration leaky blood vessels grow under the retina in the macula.

Very professional and friendly staff. Dr. Lynds is great. My exam showed no retina damage or disease - thankfully. They referred me to a general Ophthamologist who was top notch, got me scheduled quickly and he was able to remove my cataract and replace it with a super lens. I see wonderfully now.

I would highly recommend this group for advanced eye Care. All of the staff and doctors are very professional. They take time to answer questions and are very caring. Excellent facility. I read some reviews so wanted to say I've been seen on time each visit. There was no wait time. Dr. Lynds and Dr. Lee are very professional and took time to explain my eye condition.

All of the techs who dilated my eyes, did the glaucoma check, and the vision tests were well trained and explained everything. I am VERY satisfied with the services I received and HIGHLY recommend North Texas Retina Consultants in Willow Park, Texas. Very friendly, accomodating staff.

As we age our eyes play such an important role in everything we do, including walking, lifting, balancing, driving, and keeping up with whatever group we are enjoying. To have a Retina Specialist like Dr. Ross Lynds fills every purpose I would ever want, and I will continue with him forever!

Dr. Patel and all his wonderful colleagues have saved my vision in spite of an ongoing chronic condition, and have made it possible even with my financial limitations. They are doing God's healing work in the world not only thru the administration of medical treatment, but also in the caring and compassionate way they treat their patients- every single time. They have both my absolute and sincere recommendation, but also my undying gratitude.

I had the most outstanding visit with North Texas Retina. I was greeted in the most friendly manner and was very pleased at the end of my visit. The Techs that saw me before seeing Dr Lynds were very professional and nice. Dr Lynds took the time to fully explain my diagnoses and the next steps that I am needing to take. I would definitely recommend North Texas Retina to everyone I know.

My experience at North Texas Retina was great. I have had a blind spot in my right eye for over 15 years now and saw Dr Crawford for an evaluation. He was very thorough in explaining the condition and helped me to understand what was going on completely! Not to mention the wonderful staff! Made me feel very welcomed! I look forward to my follow up appointments!

I went to have my eyes checked due to having diabetes and was having some floaters in my vision. Staff was very nice and polite. They explained what they were doing with drops to dilate my eyes and testing my vision. I saw Dr. Patel. He answered all my questions and made me feel less anxious about my eyes. I felt Dr. Patel and staff really cared about my eyes and health and that means so much. Highly recommend.

This place is more interested in seeing how many patients they can herd like cattle than in patient care. My 83 year old mother has macular degeneration and since seeing Dr. Crawford she has had her cornea scratched and has never been able to see the doctor at her appointment time in less than 2 hours. She has low vision and is somewhat fragile yet the nurses do not take the time to help her in and out of her exam chair. If you want personalized and compassionate treatment, this is not the place for you're self or a loved one.
