My daughter has been seeing this office, particularly Dr. Nye, since she was in infant. She is now almost 9. We love the practice, they have always been very professional & kid friendly.

The people that work here are just terriblely mean and sad older ladies. Karma will give them what they deserve. U don't get to treat people like trash and go unseen. Most of the negitive reviews here say the same as me.they can't discriminate just because they are one of the only ped eye clinic in spokane, yet they have and continue to do. Report it so they can be stopped.

My daughter had strabismus surgery when she was 3, then yearly checks for the next 6 years (she's now 9) and everything has been perfect for her since then. We have officially been discharged from care because she has had perfect vision and no other issues since he did her surgery! Great experience with Dr Whitehead. My daughter will MISS coming here to see him. :)

My son is special needs, and won't let anyone near his eyes with eye drops, but everyone was SO patient here each time we've been. They wrote us a script for dilating eye drops at home, and I was able to prep my son for doing drops at home so the doctor didn't have to. It was a much better experience than I feared it could have been, and it worked out perfectly! My son's eyes were dilated at home right before his appointment, and Doctor Nye had his script written up within 30 mins! 10/10 recommend

Northwest pediatric ophthalmology staff is amazing! We have two special-needs boys that don't like eyedrops. They have done so well with them:) Dr. Nye has helped both boys to maintain and improve their eyesight. One of our sons actually had a lesser prescription because his eyes were slightly better last time :) With bifocals my other son has his eye aligned correctly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a kid friendly environment and the best eye care possible for their children.

Brought my 2 year old in as he has developed some concerning eye movements. We were told upon arrival that we were too early for our appointment and told to wait in the car. Ok. then they tried forcing a 2 year old to wear a mask. The one provided was defective, the metal nose piece came out and almost poked him in the eye. After waiting for the dilation drops to work, we saw Dr. Whitehead.

He was not friendly at all, spent maybe 5 minutes looking at his eyes before he said that it was a "behavioral" problem and that he was doing it on purpose to get attention. I tried explaining that his ENT dr felt it was potentially allergies to which he scoffed at, said "His eyes are fine. He's doing it on purpose. I'll send a letter to your pediatrician." And then left.

We will NOT be returning to this office. I have been a medical assistant for 12 years, so, when dealing with patients, especially children, I EXPECT better bedside manner than we received.

WARNING they will fraudulently bill you. Was told my son needed a 1 year eye exam because he was a preemie. I set up the appointment for an eye exam and even called my insurance to make sure that an eye appointment would be covered. At the eye appointment I was told my sons eyes were perfect. I end up with a bill for $244 dollars. When I called the insurance company I was told that I was seen because my son was diagnosed as being farsighted, which was interesting because I was told my sons vision was perfect.

After calling the office I was told by billing that they "can't bill for an eye exam" and that they "have to bill for something". I had a nurse tell me that my sons diagnosis was a normal finding for his age. Well that is interesting because I am getting a bill that states this is not normal and that I was being seen for this and not an eye exam. I have a grievance with insurance over false claims. Just BEWARE they "can't bill insurance for an eye exam."

Never go here! If zero stars was an option I would select! It's a long story my son is four years old and had an eye exam at school he failed slightly 2. Something for both eyes I immediately scheduled an appointment with this office, they did the eye exam I was in the room with Christina Nye for maybe 2 minutes! They are stating my son is blind! -5.12 both eyes!

She then contacted my son school with out a medical release and claimed my son was failing to thrive and pretty much dyeing! And my sons doctor! Also with out a medical release with multiple other a ligations! I work to support the sons school on a state level and I am a very active parent in my sons healthy and education! I had to get health screens for my son and send documentation from multiple sources to prove my son is healthy as and ox!

We also went to a new eye doctor and found out my son is not BLIND! And that the original eye prescription giving to my son threw the school was correct this MD should not be treating patients and I will be filing threw the state due to this matter! My sons vision could have been dramatically been effected negatively if I wouldn't have taken him to a third eye doctor! she could have caused serious permanent damage! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE! Also they are very short with patients and very rude!

Was able to get a appointment for my child in a decent time frame. Upon arrival the receptionist Katie was short and rude and argued over an insurance matter. Her attitude set the mood for this place. The doctor we seen (Dr. Whitehead) was hurried and short and not concerned at all for our issues. Waste of our time, wouldn't recommend this place at all!

I have 5 children, all of whom are patients at NWPO. Three of my children have Autism and the office has always been very accommodating to their various personalities and needs. These same three also have amblyopia. Dr. Shea has done an outstanding job in treating each child's' specific challenges. Treatments have included patching and surgery. Another doctor, who has been retired for several years, performed a tear duct opening surgery on my son who was one at the time.

I have never had any frustration with the staff or the Doctors in this office. I drive 75 miles one way, to bring my children to see Dr. Shea because I trust the doctor and staff.

We have been going to Dr. Whitehead at NW Pediatric Ophthalmology for 8 years now and have had nothing but excellent care, compassionate medical advice and friendly and professional service from everyone in their office. Dr. Whitehead is an adept physician, always astutely concerned with any structural or vision changes and yet has a funny, relaxed, efficient and excellent manner with kids, my son ends up laughing through his appointments.

My son has had surgery to repair strabismus and the entire surgical process was explained in detail, geared toward my son with attention to his comfort, happiness and well-being. The office is geared toward kids and full of fun activities for kids to forget they are at a doctor's office. I appreciate their diligence and sensitivities toward patient safety with their Covid precautions and cleanliness. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Whitehead and fully trust their capability in providing excellent and compassionate care in a relaxing and kid-centered environment.
