A good contact lens fit starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up-to-date prescription and rule out any pre-existing conditions that could interfere with contact lens wear.

The Oakland vision practice offers a full range of vision care services including contact lens evaluation and fitting, eye examinations for adults and children, and digital retinal photography. For chronic dry eye, a more effective and long-term solution such as punctal occlusion may be needed. Chronic Dry Eye Syndrome is easily diagnosed, and it's important to understand that it can be more than simply an annoying discomfort. We counsel patients with partial sight on how to make the most of their life, in spite of a visual disability.
Eye examinations are generally recommended on a yearly basis or more often to monitor special eye conditions. Children should receive their first complete exam by the age of two. We are equipped with the most advanced, computerized instrumentation to provide a thorough and quick analysis of vision and to assess the health of your eye.
Patients that are difficult to fit or that have been told that they can not wear contact lenses are often fit successfully in our office. We fit all types of contact lenses and maintain large lens inventories including disposable, soft, toric, bifocal (soft and RGP), rigid gas permeable, Synergeyes (hybrid) contact lenses, tinted, and Orthokeratology. We are now fitting the new ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions Light Intelligent Technology single vision contact lenses.

I have been going to Oakland vision since I moved to Oakland County over 20 years ago. The customer service is the best there is and honestly I will probably continue to go even after I move from Oakland County. I referred my mom and she goes to the south Lyon location when she is closer to the competition that's just in brighton.

Fantastic office - I've been coming here for over 10+ years seeing Dr. Miller who is my absolute favorite. The previous office Manager Sherrie was awesome and would guide me with the process of billing, appointment and picking out glasses. Dr Miller is very thorough and explains everything in detail. I buy my contacts from this office every year and will update my glasses every few years.

Optometrists here are excellent, however the front office staff that bills you has a serious attitude problem. If you don't buy a years worth of contacts they get short with you and even insulted my brother when he didn't buy the years worth of contacts. Been going here my entire life but honestly hate going here because I know I have to deal with them. The only thing keeping me around is the trust I have with the doctors

This has to be the worst optometrist around. I've tried getting glasses made from them and they constantly screw up the order. Wrong frames, wrong prescriptions, it's become comical. Not to mention they're inability to communicate or keep appointments. I've walked out twice waiting to be seen after waiting more than an hour past my scheduled time with no explanation. Won't be back here.

I had a lovely experience at Oakland Vision today. The staff was polite and so good with my special needs child. They even came out to the car to make him more comfortable. They made sure to go over what my insurance did and did not cover to help me make a decision on what worked best for my son. I highly recommend their services.

It used to be so much better. The new management over books patients with little custom care. Dr. Weisner was caring and emphasized in providing a great service. I waited 10 mins in the lobby and 25 mins in the examination room just sitting around. No one did anything. I just walked out. What a waste of time and effort What is the purpose of an appointment if they can't service their patients.
If I miss an appointment, they would certain charge me fees. If I am 30 mins late to an appointment, I am sure they will tell me to make another appointment, but nothing happens (no apologies) when they are late. It is a time for my family to look for a better place to get the examination and contact lenses in the future.

Had a really great experience here. The doctor was very thorough and took his time making sure he got my prescription just right. The prescription he gave me was much different than the one I got last year at a different eye doctor. When he showed me the comparison side by side of the one I had vs my new prescription I was blown away! Fair pricing and nice selection of frames. I'd definitely recommend Oakland Vision to anyone who asked.

Went for my annual eye exam Dr. Stein was very professional and caring, The staff was unprofessional have been waiting for my glasses for eight weeks now. Staff stating they forgot to order them the first time, waited two weeks called on my glasses was told by a gentleman that it'll be two more days, Then was called by another staff stating that my glasses will be another week Or longer which by that time will be two months waiting for a pair of glasses.

My first visit to Oakland Vision went very well! Dr. Stein did a great job explaining the changes in my prescription. In addition, I've always had a difficult time with the puff of air and he didn't make me try the test, he just went ahead and did the alternative --a lot less stress! The staff who helped me pick out frames was extremely helpful and patient.
She made sure I knew my options and weighed them out because I really liked frames that weren't covered under my insurance plan. I highly recommend going to see Dr. Stein and the staff!

Dr. Stein examined my wife who hadn't been for an exam for a while. The experience was excellent. She found a pair of glasses that are stylish and fit well. When we went to pick up het new glasses, Dr Miller assisted her and was most professional and caring. We would highly recommend this doctors and establishment.

Great staff, the doctors are also very nice and good at their job. Also, their selection of glasses is huge. BUT, expect to wait at least an hour every visit. I have gone here for four years and I have NEVER waited less than 45 mins. I went in last week, my apt was at 4:00 and I was not even taken back until 5:30. That's normal for them. Expect a 2+ hour trip.

Last summer I moved out of Michigan and among my many good byes, I paid a visit to see Dr. Stein for my annual eye exam. I'd been seeing him for about eight years. I always appreciated his patience with me, so the thought of finding a new optometrist was about as exciting as finding a new OB-GYN. This summer I travelled to Michigan to see friends and family.
On the drive up, I ripped a contact lens. No big deal, a quick stop at Oakland Vision and I was given a free pair of trial contacts. I figured while I was in town I'd have my annual eye exam. Dr. Stein was patient and kind as always. My new contacts will need to be ordered and the staff graciously offered to put them in the mail for me. I expect to visit Michigan yearly, and with such a wonderful doctor and helpful staff, I see no reason not to include an eye exam as part of my travels.
