The practice of medicine is just as much an art as it is a science and understanding the intricate workings of the human body takes skill, education, experience and understanding. It may not be surprising then that understanding health insurance rises to almost the same degree of difficulty. There are a few things that come to mind regarding health insurance that should be understood in order to smooth the transaction between you the patient and your medical provider. This article will attempt to address some of those matters and hopefully shed some light on what can be a mystifying trek.

Dr. Olsen and his staff are all great. My husband and myself have been patients here for several years. He is very patient and never makes us feel rushed, as other Dr's have.

Olsen suddenly got rid of some of his primary care patients in early 2020, telling them he was quitting primary care to concentrate on hormone replacement therapy instead. The doctor acknowledged that he knew he would be doing that months ago. Yet, he never sent out any correspondence to let people know he was getting rid of them; he just waited till they made an appointment and then dropped the news on them that he could no longer see them.

My mother, who was a long time patient of his, asked for a referral to another doctor that she could see, but he refused to give her one, telling her that he knew of no one. A doctor who's been practicing medicine for many years knows no other doctor to refer his patients to? I don't believe that for a moment. Does any of this sound professional or ethical to you?

From everything I've heard, doctors normally give some notice when moving or retiring from a practice, and they give referrals to make sure that their patients will be cared for after they leave. Instead, this guy just suddenly dropped patients and hung them out to dry.

There is not enough good things I can say about Dr. Olsen and his staff. I have been a patient of Dr. Olsen for probably close to 20 years. He is the first doctor that I have ever felt comfortable around. He has helped me in so many ways over the years by listening and truly caring. I contribute me being alive to both Dr. Olsen and Dr. Ramaswamy at Walker Heart Institute.

His referral for a CT scan saved my life. My symptoms were identical to panic disorder. He could have just written me a quick scrip and sent me on my way, but instead, he wanted to be sure and referred me to Mercy Hospital who at the time had a grant from American Heart Association. His extra care and attention was how they found a issue with my heart. This was literally life saving. Thank you Dr. Olsen and your wonderful staff!

Dr. Olsen is amazing. He takes time to answer anything you ask. He has a great "bedside manner" and makes you comfortable. His staff is awesome as well. By far the best doctor in NWA. Dr. Olsen cares about his patients. He is not the type to pack the patients in and have his hand out. It is quality care not quantity.

Dr. Olsen is extremely professional including every staff member I've experienced over the decade I've been his patient. He's understanding and willing to listen to every word you say. I've never felt rushed in his office, even when he's booked solid. A kind and gentle man, who is truly there for his patients. I'll always be his patient and hopefully for another decade. Thank you Olsen clinic for helping me tremendously over the years!

He's very pleasant. He helped me when I was at my wits in, I didnt at all feel like just another patient, I felt as if I was only one with my concerns. I recomend him to all.

Saw Dr Olson for maybe 10 minutes. He said all women go through menopause and shouldn't be concerned with the side effects of hormone replacement. Then sent me to have blood drawn and said he'd email me. As I left, I was told I needed to pay $882, thankfully, I had AR BC/BS insurance so the charge was reduced to $334. Then I was told by email to go to my patient portal where I found 2 prescriptions had been called in and had no additional personal advisement. I guess my expectation was for this visit to be more personal to my health. Instead, I felt like one more patient in the crowd, being rushed through for money.

This man is awesome. Make an appointment and you'll see what I mean. If you have hypothyroid issues with labs normal, but still having symptoms, ask him about Armour thyroid. His staff are also very friendly.
