Varicose veins are enlarged, swollen, and twisting veins, often appearing blue or dark purple. They happen when faulty valves in the veins allow blood to flow in the wrong direction or to pool. Aging: As you age, veins grow weaker and become more at risk. Gender: Women are more likely to develop vein disease; however it is not uncommon for a man.

I'm not normally one to give a one star review or any review at all for that matter, but you need to know. Waited 2 weeks for an appointment with a specific doctor. Office cancelled by text message one hour before the appointment. Called, got us in with a physician's assistant instead. P.A. said you need to come back and see a doctor but the one booked originally isn't available now.

So came in to see a different doctor the next day because it couldn't wait any longer. That doctor said nothing but that we need to see the original that we booked with, and P.S. we waited too long to come in so now the injury is not fixable. Waited another week to see the original doctor. Took 3 days off of work rather than one. Disputed being billed for multiple appointments as it was entirely the fault of Orthopedic Associates that there were multiple appointments. Billing rep TALKED OVER ME the entire time, even after I repeatedly and kindly asked her to let me finish speaking.

She did not listen to a word I said. She had the facts wrong and argued with me rather than looking up the facts. I am an extremely peaceful and exceedingly patient person, but this woman was SO HORRIBLE talking over me, not listening, and arguing, she got me to the point where I was shaking with anger and I ended up hanging up on her because I just couldn't take it anymore.

Her reasoning: "No one made you do anything." No one MADE you come in multiple times. Really? Because yes, if it were not for them cancelling with zero notice and rescheduling with the WRONG PROVIDERS, we would NOT have had to go multiple times and lose THREE DAYS of income. NONE of that would have happened if they handled things properly. NONE of that was the fault of the patient.

Who blames their patients for their own screw-ups? Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County, that's who! Oh, by the way, we spent TWO HOURS past the appointment time waiting to see someone with each visit. And the occupational therapist was helping 15 people all at the same time and only spent 5 mins or less with the patient during a 45 min appointment. This is literally the worst doctor's office I have ever had the displeasure of going to. Save yourself and find another place to go.

Walked into urgent care, checked my son in at the kiosk. Walked around to find a front counter person to fully check in and they tell me that they are CLOSED. I was confused as it says they didn't close until SEVEN PM so I mentioned this, only for them to say that due to MAX CAPACITY they aren't taking any more patients. What!? When did URGENT CARE start doing this?! Close a half hour early because the doctor doesn't wanna take anymore patients?! Could have placed a sign on the front door.

When I arrived for a 9 am appt the registration clerk informed me that my appt was with the wrong type of specialist and I was now scheduled with a different dr. for 11 am. Their scheduler had suggested the original dr. I have severe pain radiating down my left leg & need a shot asap and was under the impression I would get it today. When the second dr. finally saw me after I waited another hour, he informed me that the shot must be scheduled for a surgical center.

I explained I expected the shot today and could not wait several weeks. I became very upset. He asked if I wanted to see his "manager." I said yes, hoping some accommodation would be made considering their errors, but that did not happen. I reluctantly agreed to see the dr. for a consult. He now refused to see me. I asked to see the other pain management dr. and the manager said she would have to get his permission because he too might refuse me. Essentially they blacklisted me after enraging me through miscommunication and mismanagement.

God awful place, run the other way. They treat you like cattle there. Most of the staff have a horrible bedside manor and the female staff and doctors act like they are in a high school clique. Hope you have the best insurance there too as they will do unnecessary xrays or other messages to make as much money as possible on you. They don't see patients they see dollar signs.

When I start by saying that I've always had great orthopedic care there, however, they've reached an all-time high in customer disservice with their automated answering service. It is IMPOSSIBLE to speak to a real person. I missed two calls from my doctor asking me to return his call. When I go to return this call I'm met with a brick wall of an answering service.

All I can do is leave a message so that he can leave me a message so that I can leave him a message so that he can leave me a message.ad infinitum. Ridiculous! Frustrating! Inexcusable!

I've been trying to make an appointment with the office for over a week, and they tell you to go online to make the appointment but there is no availability, there is no calendar, there is no dates, there is nothing. I just tried to make an appointment online three weeks ago and there was availability, now a big sign says office! I've called the office, actually all five of them and not gotten anywhere except for a voice message.

The text system that they had isn't even in place anymore. If Dr. Andrew Stewart wasn't at this location I wouldn't even be bothered, the hassle to get an appointment is ridiculous. I should not have to leave a message, go to loopholes, and write a public poor rating to get an appointment for my knee that feels like it's falling out of the socket. If your orthopedist isn't Andrew Stewart! Don't bother!

Worst organizational structure possible. Doctors and staff seemed competent but communication is non-existant. I dumped them after first spending an entire week trying to contact someone to make an appointment because their website is completely non-functional, and then waited in their waiting room for close to 2 hours before walking out. BTW they called me the day of my 2nd appointment and cancelled it. They do seem very effective making sure they collect their money though.

No return phone calls from staff in a 2 week period after leaving numerous messages about upcoming surgery. Dr McLaughlin never responded on info needed for surgery after his own staff emailed him about it 4 times! It's horrible how bad they've become! I used to be an advocate for them 10 years ago but no longer. I just canceled surgery and will not return.

Definitely need new management; using "we're experiencing higher then normal call volume " for the on hold wait is a joke as they don't call back either. If their patients aren't there 1st concern then they're in the wrong business! I called a new orthopedic company and they returned a call same day and set up appointment. I guess I should've read reviews before I went back to them, it seems most feel the same way!

This place is by far the worst place. Doctors do not care for the patients. How you see a patient for 3 minutes and say hope u feel better but make sure you schedule your next appointment. Tried calling 3 times to find out why my muscle relaxers that was subscribed for a back injury. I couldn't stress enough how much pain I was in. Come to find out the script was never sent to pharmacy. Been on hold now for 20 mins for the 3rd time. Please don't waste your time here, they just DONT CARE

My procedure went very well. Dr Perkins has been great and the surgical staff were excellent. 6 months of sciatic pain instantly gone with 30 minute procedure. Took about four hours from arrival to back home. Thank You!
