Do not have surgery at this hospital. Horrible post OP care. My husband was not treated for his severe 10+ pain and this resulted in very high blood pressure. Surgeon was not notified. Paco nurse did not document is pain level correctly and did not address this at all. Spoke with the manager, christ, got records and all that was done was a unit meeting. They have had to cancel surgeries due to staffing issues and I can see why. I wouldn't want to work in that environment that provided such sloppy care. Never go there again

I'd like to start by saying the care I received from the nurses and providers was incredible and deserves 5 stars. Even the admissions person was super kind. I've been a nurse for 12 years, admissions people are rarely nice. The RadTech was exceptionally kind. Where this hospital lost it for me was their lack of updated information. I'm pregnant. I had a fever of 104, couldn't keep anything down, blah blah blah, I had the flu.

Following the instructions on the hospital's website, the labor and delivery packet handed to me by my doctor, the instructions provided to me by the hospital when I completed pre-delivery registration, AND the hospital signage I went to the labor and delivery entrance. It's May 2022. Covid closures began in Tucson began in March 2020. The entrance was CLOSED!

I already had walked 200 meters from the closest available parking spot to the front door (valet wasn't available as the handouts, videos and website indicated). I called the hospital, I was transferred to security. I asked about the locked door, security LAUGHED and said that entrance hadn't been opened in years. I *THINK* you need to enter through emergency. Ok, so wait EVERYTHING I've been handed and all the information provided on the website is wrong?

And now you *think* I need to go to the complete opposite side of the hospital? How hard is it to update patient handouts? Or a website especially over two years later! I checked, the website STILL directs laboring mothers to the labor and delivery entrance! So I then painfully walked back to my car, drove to the opposite side of the hospital and proceeded to enter the hospital.

Upon entering I was walked back to labor and delivery. Yes, I said WALKED. A wheelchair wasn't available or at least I wasn't offered one. 8 months pregnant, fever, body shaking from chills and I had to walk what felt like a mile back to quite literally the opposite corner of the hospital! I'm athletic, and physically fit, I exercise daily, but this long walk while being as sick as I was and being so pregnant was not appropriate.

Once I was finally to labor and delivery the team was incredible. But the lack of updated signage/handouts/website has me second guessing if this is the right hospital to deliver at. I'm fearful of going into labor and not being able to make it back to labor and delivery in time. I also don't really feel comfortable being forced to walk through the cesspool of germs that is the ED while on my way to deliver a healthy child as a healthy adult. Additionally how hard is it to educate security so they aren't *thinking* and instead are *knowing*.

I can't help but wonder how awful this would have gone had I actually been in labor. Clear and accurate information is all I'm asking for. If I weren't so far along in my pregnancy I would be changing my delivery plans.

Worst ER experience ever, went in w/ my mom who is in her 80s w/ fractured wrist checked in @ 2pm and did not get results and go back until 10:30. Several times I asked for Tylenol or something for my moms pain and the response was "let me check" and no one would ever follow up with me as well as others asking for assistance. The staff was rude and horrible to anyone asking questions.

I understand they were busy but if patients are in the ER its for a reason and to have to sit there for SEVERAL hours the staff should be coming out and checking on the patients and that was never done. I can go on and on about the many flaws I witnessed that day but that would take hours to write. The ONLY credit I will give is to the Provider who saw my mom and the tech who wrapped my moms fractured wrist.

I was admitted at St Joseph Hospital I'm Tucson Az. When finally was admitted to my room I started to call Nurses Station at 8:16ish for my final meds for the nite, I must have ran nurses station on 2nd floor more than 16 times with no response, I finally called the hospital it's Self for them to call I was told that they are extremely busy! The nurses on staff that eve, were Molly & Lisa.

It's too bad I had really liked the initial Treatments. Then they were non existent! I had also Had issues in the ER Dept. on Fridays 2nd Shift it wasn't until I complained that I got assistance! Hope whoever comes here receives better treatment than I did, GD I will never come here again!

I was mocked by a nurse for having abdominal pain. I was explain why I came he said "oh so you came cause you have a stomach cramp." This nurse is bald headed with neck tattoos as piercings. Before this I sat for over an hour waiting. I had to ask why no ones seen me. The girl at the front desk yelled at me they called my name several times. I mentioned I was setting here waiting and never heard my name. She replied with I let them know your back. It's unfortunate these people work at a hospital with such rude poor attitudes. The bald guy should be fired!

The tattooed triage nurse as rude and did not seem to care about patients. The doctor was understanding and helped out where he could. But still had to wait in a wheelchair eventhough I was in extreme pain sitting up because I was not a trauma patient. Edit: The hospital did contact me about this review and was very understanding of the situation. They want to fix the issue, so hopefully the reviews will make a different. I bumped it to two stars for following up on my experience.

Update- A few weeks ago I spoke to Danny the Chief Nursing Officer who was very helpful in trying to understand what happened with the situation on my original review below. I feel he truly wants to make things better. After spending an entire month in the hospital for my mother. During the last three days of of my moms life, the hospital staff, Doctors and especially the Nurses, Techs and Michael who I believe was another Chief Nursing officer was absolutely amazing.

I felt like they truly care and had so much compassion. Original review- Doctors and nurse staff is great but the support staff that answers phone calls at the main number are horrible about giving the right information. I called to see what the visitor restrictions were and they said one person at a time. No problem that's good thinking we just rotate between a few people to see their grandma.

We live an hour and a half away and when we get there they said it's only one person per day. That would of been nice to know when we made that call to check the restrictions, we all would on not made that trip if we were not able to visit. The attitude I received was heartless and just didn't care. They said well it has not changed. That's why I called you empathicless person I don't know I don't work there genius!

I just want to share that my Doctor gave me a referral to get a Covid Antibody Treatment here so I called and left a voice mail. When I didn't hear back, I called St Joe's main number to reach the office I need and also confirmed a different number to call. I was told to call multiple times because they do not have an answering machine so I did. The whole day passed and nothing!

I called the main line after calling 40 times, and informed them that I am having a hard time breathing plus I have asthma so my doctor is trying to have me get this asap. I am debating to go to ER. The people you speak to when you call their main line have no idea what to do and etc. No communications whatsoever with the other departments. I finally just called ER hoping they'd know what's going on or if I should come in and ER finally told me the department I'm looking for closed 2 days ago. Like I said, NO COMMUNICATIONS WHATSOEVER WITH THE OTHER DEPARTMENTS. The only people who was helpful was ER.

ER Triage is a JOKE and all the nurses are too. I got checked in but didn't receive a wrist band that tells everyone you're been and the Check In lady doesn't know her feet from her nose. I can't tell if I'm in a nightmare or this is really happening. I asked over and over what am I waiting for? The reply back is I don't know they'll be with you. UNBELIEVABLE! This place should be on the chopping block for ER Center! If I could give absolutely NO STAR I WOULD! Signed, Patient Seen on 01-12-2022

If you want to get billed from multiple companies from one visit to St. Joseph's ER, not get straight answers about why you're getting billed for this one visit multiple times, and waste time chasing down answers, this is the place for you. Super unorganized, uninformative and rude. Not even sure what my one unfortunate visit will cost as I was told different amounts from a variety of "partners".

The visit was two weeks ago and all I had were a couple of stitches for a minor injury, I am being told $4,050, $1,822.50 and $417.05 (totaling $6,290.55) Can someone please recommend a good lawyer? A few stitches for a minor injury does NOT cost this much! By the way, they applied the stitches in the hallway, they didn't even take me to a private room.
