While the medical staff are great, this practice uses suspicious billing practices. Four times now, I have received additional bills with "adjustments" showing I owed more money for services I had received 6+ months earlier (or in a couple cases, more than year before). When I called to ask why I routinely receive adjustments for services 6-12 months ago, I was told there is some kind of "glitch" in their billing system.which has been there for almost 2 years at this point! I'm fed up with the surprise bills and will be going to another practice that can get the bill correct the first time.

Worst Medical Provider Experience in over six decades. In an effort to comprehend the lack of direction in my current, however long-term, neurological care and following four weeks of leaving numerous unanswered messages at Dr. Carlile's office, I drove 45 minutes to his office. Instead of receiving the reportedly anticipated diagnosis of four weeks prior, I was told that my numerous telephone messages had been mistakenly routed to the voicemail of an ex-employee.

I further learned that the obstacle to my diagnosis lay in an insufficient blood draw of early May. However, it remains unclear why I was never informed. I left the office for a second blood draw at the nearby Palmetto Primary Care Physicians North Charleston facility. Subsequent to a 40-minute wait, I was called by the phlebotomist. As she prepared to initiate the draw, I queried if the draw required fasting.

My orders were checked and it was determined that a fasting draw was required. I'm glad that I asked that question or this review would be even worse. I travelled the 45 minutes back to my home and returned to the draw center several days later for a presumably successful blood draw. Seven weeks passed with no contact regarding the results of the second blood draw results, which I was told would take a few days at most.

I finally gave up on Dr. Carlile's office and telephoned Palmetto Primary Care Physicians draw center. Explaining that I still awaited the results of a blood draw of seven weeks prior, I verified that the blood work had been processed and the results sent to Dr. Carlile. I was informed that someone from Dr. Carlile's office, as well as the Patient Advocate of the draw center would follow-up with me.

The following day, I spoked with the Palmetto Primary Care Physicians Charleston Neurology Associates office manager. At that time, I learned that once again the blood draw was somehow problematic and that a third blood draw would be necessary. Again, I was never notified! When I expressed my ongoing dissatisfaction with a total lack of communications or forward movement toward a diagnostic resolution, ongoing over the prior seven months, the completely unapologetic office manager became unprofessionally belligerent, sarcastic, and argumentative.

I have never had any past problems with my blood draws or in obtaining results. This office manager, completely lacked any outward demonstration of compassion toward understanding my weeks of physical pain and frustration in my almost fifteen-year journey to further investigate my numerous neuropathies. Additionally, in spite of multiple telephone calls and the multiple promises that an expected telephone call from the blood draw center Patient Advocate would occur, no attempts have has been recorded.

Subsequent to many delays, originating with what may appear to be Dr. Carlile's support staff and/or the Palmetto Primary Care Physicians group, my seven-month journey with this organization has been a virtual waste of my time, resources, and Medicare benefits. The hope towards a better understanding and/or abatement to my almost constant pain has vanished. Understandably, I have lost confidence in this provider's abilities to deliver any future personal medical care. Sadly, this experience has not bolstered my confidence in traditional Western medical practices.

This review is not a direct dig on Urgent Care, however after several attempts to contact Corporate, I feel this may be the only option to get someone's attention. I came to urgent care on a weekend due to my primary physician being closed. Receptionist and nurse were great and very cordial. The Dr however was one of the most unprofessional I have ever met!

He did not perform a full exam, gave me a prescription for something that was not even related to my symptoms and made the exact comment, "What am I doing, I dont need to be in here any longer than I have to!" I went to my primary physician 2 days later after my symptoms did not clear up, and was given proper meds which cleared my symptoms in 2 days!

Upon telling my primary what happened, they gave me the # to corporate. I have tried several times and left messages and have yet to get a return phone call. This was the first time I've had a negative experience with urgent care. As I stated this isn't a dig on urgent care directly but an attempt to get the attention of corporate and get a phone call!

I waited for 2 hours to be seen and never saw a doctor. The receptionist said they had forgotten about me and to come back. No apology was given. She spent most of her time gossiping with a patient about one of the doctors. The caliber of people that they hire at this location is terrible! Please do not go there. After 8 years, I will never return.

Can't understand how they book their appointments; they're never on time here at the Appian Way office. Waiting over an hour now and it was the same way last week. Ridiculous!

It was going to be a week to get to see my primary care doctor so his office suggested I go to the urgent care facility. I did and was very pleased. The wait time was less than I often experience at my regular doctor's office and the staff was friendly and very efficient. I got an x-ray and an inhalation treatment on site in a timely manner. Overall great experience!

I have been to this location about 5 times over the last 5 years and every single time has been a great experience. Very little wait to be seen and everyone made me feel extremely comfortable. I love the hours bc I work night shift.

I have had a fairly negative experience here so far. The office is incredibly slow with communication. Expect to wait fifteen minutes on hold to be told the receptionist can't do anything to help get you scheduled. You will wait an hour (usually longer) past your appointment time to even be seen. You will also wait days for x-ray results and when you call to inquire (to find out if your bone is broken and because you are in serious agony), that you are being a nuisance by calling. The doctor was very nice, but the staff is not friendly and communication is terrible.

Not impressed. This was my first time using a primary care facility. Front desk employees were very nice. Unfortunately I was supposed to have a follow up that was never addressed. I called this office 4 times to see why no one was getting back to me and I was in pain and still am. They told me every time they would get back to me very quickly and it's been a month and I've heard nothing. I'm very disappointed in this place because I read great reviews.

I believe anyone would want to be cared for quickly especially when they are a new patient. I will be trying to find a new primary care facility. Hope everyone else has better luck.

I was given a wrist and thumb brace (I had already purchased my own) and was told, when I asked about the cost of it, not to worry, insurance would cover it. Insurance did not cover it, as my deductible had not been met (year started over again July 1) Seems the doctor's office would have checked that. Plus, I got billed from a "third party" for $125.00 for a $30.00 brace!

When I went back to Palmetto, they just said "not our problem, call the company or your insurance company." What a scam. Never accept anything from a doctor until you know exactly what it could cost you. I learned the hard way. I will not return to Palmetto Primary Care.

I was amazed at the professionalism and genuinely friendly service at Palmetto Urgent Care! Every staff member we encountered was courteous and extremely helpful. The Nurse, PA and Doctor related so well to my son and made him feel relaxed and comfortable.

Hands down the best facility I have ever put my trust towards for my care and those of other family members. I have nothing but high recommendations of this care facility and their staff, all around just a great group of specialist. I'm here to tell you, there is no better any where and I have been well traveled and have visited many, Palmetto Primary Care puts your concerns to rest and are thorough in their diagnoses towards you getting better. The Best of all the Rest!

I was pretty surprised. After trying to research a doctors office in Charleston after moving here from another state and coming up with virtually nothing, my expectations of what I would find were pretty low. This office was very clean, modern, and the staff was very friendly. Everyone had a smile on their faces. It looks like all of their records are electronic.

The doctor and the nurse that attended to me were both carrying touch screen laptops. They asked all the right questions and spent as much time with me as I needed. They both seemed really knowledgeable. It's nice too that they have a diagnostics lab and I didn't need to go to a hospital for blood testing. I'd definitely recommend them!

Just an FYI, the one off thing, is that it's a very Christian office. Bible verses on the walls, no secular magazines in the waiting rooms, Christian gospel music playing, and Bibles on all of the tables. That's not a bad thing, but I just wouldn't go there for anything "questionable."
