The Panton family has been taking care of my mom for almost 30 years and have helped her navigate through a lot of eye issues. They have saved her vision! When I finally accepted that I needed glasses I didn't think twice about who I would trust with my eye health. They are professional, patient, courteous and trustworthy.

9/23/2021 I don't know why this Dr is still in business. I have been going to the father when he was alive. Such a sweet man. After he passed I started seeing his son. I like the Doctor but staff Speaks to you in a condescending way. That does not sit right with me. Whoever the lady is where you buy your glasses she should retire because she has a bad attitude. Evidently doctor Panton does not read these reviews because if he did he should be cleaning house. Im looking for another Eye Dr and Im getting my records out of that building.

Horrible! First of all, they do not use gloves while touching your eye(s) especially during the COVID pandemic. Also, the Doctor was intimidating, like his level of profession excused him from doing things that weren't protocol. Very uncomfortable experience!

I unfortunately trusted Dr. Panton to perform cataract surgery on my one eye about 2 years ago. It was not successful. He admitted he used the wrong prescription and would compensate on the surgery on my other eye. I paid $2500 for a multi focal lens that would eliminate the need for glasses. I requested he refund the money since he made an error, but he refused.

I had cataract surgery on my other eye at Kirk Eye Center in River Forest and paid for a multi focal lens. Dr. Carter Kirk performed a success surgery and then performed laser surgery on the first surgery and I'm free of glasses. I could never recommend Panton Eye center. Highly advise you go elsewhere. Poor customer service and they make you wait a couple of hours for an eye exam. Very unprofessional.

Don't listen to the 5 star reviews. They make you wait forever and are extremely rude. They don't want you to sit in the lobby. Why are there so many seats and no one can sit in their? Kicked me out while waiting for my younger brother because I couldn't sit their. Front desk lady is extremely rude. When I say run, run! No type of professionalism.

Sunday morning I wake up with excruciating pain to my right eye. I could barely open it with tears running down my face. I haven't been at my current eye doctors place for 5 years and when I had called them they said since I would be considered a new patient they could not prescribe any antibiotics. They told me to call the next day to be seen.

My sister then suggested that we call the ophthalmologist that I saw as a child which she is still a current patient. I'm like "no way are they going to see me since it's been forever that they have seen me. " Dr. Peter called me back immediately and said he would meet me at the office in 10 min! Needless to say he saw me, prescribed me antibiotics, numbed my eye( that was the best) finally some relief, and confirmed that I had a tear on my cornea.

I can't tell you how grateful I was that he came in on a Sunday to take care of me. I live in Northbrook but I will be coming back to them with my kids. My brother who was also with me is like I'm coming back here too. Pretty amazing thank you so much. Pain is a terrible thing and I appreciate the time you took to take care of me!

Dr. Peter Panton has been my ophthalmologist for approximately nine years. Six months ago I underwent cataract surgery under his direction. My eyesight is worse now than it was prior to surgery. I paid $2500 to upgrade to a multifocal lens which would not require me lto wear glasses. He told me he used the incorrect prescription lens and would compensate when he performed the cataract surgery on my other eye.

Since I was so disappointed in the outcome of the first surgery, I would not have him conduct surgery on my other eye. I went to Northwestern University medical school to see the director of cataract surgery. He told me my other eye is not ready to have surgery. After that exam I wrote a letter to Dr. Peter Panton requesting he either put in the correct lens in the eye that he put the wrong prescription and or that he would refund my $2500 I paid for the upgrade to a multifocal lens.

Today which has been approximately two weeks Since I sent a letter requesting 1) either operate on the eye and put the correct lens in my eye at no charge to me or 2)refund the $2500 I paid:for the upgraded lens, but have not heard back from Dr. Peter Panton. I think it is unconscionable that he would want to do surgery on another eye because he made a mistake on the lens on the first one. A very dissatisfied and unhappy patient. Highly advise you get a second opinion before deciding to have surgery with him. Rick McVey

I needed cataract surgery on both eyes. It's a bit frightening at first, knowing both your eyes need to be operated on. The doctors and staff explained in calm detail the entire process and answered all questions I had. My left eye was done in January and the right about six weeks later. As I understand it, the timetable is different for everyone.

I was told there would be minimal pain, the operation is done on an outpatient basis and recovery is fairly quick as long as I follow instructions. There were absolutely no surprises. After the first eye was done, the results were so good I wanted the other done as soon as possible. My vision is no longer "cloudy" and colors are vibrant again. Any pain I had was minimal and short lived, I've had headaches that were worse. I will recommend Panton Eye Center to anyone I know who is in need. Thank You

I wish I could give this place more stars. My mother was taken to Loyola in Maywood to have calcification scrap off her eye lens every month for a few years. I felt so bad for her because she constantly rubbed her eyes and couldn't see very well. This went on for years so when I took her to the Doctor, I ask why she had to come back every month and wanted to know what her problem was.

They just walked away and would't answer me. I was referred to take her to Panton eye center so I made an appointment. Her first visit I was told that my mother was in a lot of pain and needed to be put into the hospital to have surgery. A few days after the surgery, first thing my mother said was 'my eyes don't hurt and I can see.' It was such a excellent experience for my mom that I won't go anywhere else because these Doctors are the best.

I love the fact that when I call for an appointment, the staff is very effiencent in making sure I had all the information in advance of what they needed and of course checked to make sure my insurance would cover there services before I schedule an appointment. I decided to write this because I want someone who is seriously looking for a great Doctor to know you have found one.

I have another appointment tomorrow and was looking up the address and couldn't believe some of these reviews. They have nothing to do with how good the Doctors are which surprises me that they are considered reviews. I can't believe anyone would think that they can walk into a doctors offfice and think that the Doctor that is waiting for his first client, that has an appointment, would see them on the spot.

It takes more than 15 minutes to see the Doctor. Then the patient that has an appointment will have to wait and so on. Thats why its called an appointment. I can honestly say, you will walk away with the best care and professional service you could possibly receive. Before any of you decide to write a review for anyone give yourself a day to think about it.

Remember what comes around goes around and we all have bad days. You shouldn't take it out on devoted passionate people who go to work everyday and take pride to help those who need their expertise.

I went in on a Wednesday and the front desk assistant Carolina was kind enough to open the door for me to schedule an appointment. But she asked the doctor if he can take me in that same day and he said no even though he was there and was doing nothing but waiting for other clients. So I then registered with the assistant instead and scheduled the appointment for Saturday 8am.

Sure enough, I go in at 7:50am and the other lady with dark orange hair with an attitude about even being there said they couldn't contact my insurance so I had to pay $160 today. Are you kidding me?! Couldn't have called me at least a day before to avoid all this!? That's the reason why I didn't complain about the doctor not taking me Wednesday.

I haven't seen the doctor and already had to many problems. Looking for another DR ELSEWHERE. *adding to review* 30 min later after I left and heading to work I get a call from the assistant saying they did get a hold of my insurance and gave me my co pay. Girl. if I can leave no stars I would

Dr Panton and their staff are very professional and caring. Full service care for our eyes. We have been patients for over 20 years. My mothers recent cataract surgery was a huge success. They absolutely can handle your eye care needs.

I had the lasik procedure with Dr Peter Panton about 5 years ago and I'm still going strong. My vision continues to be better than 20/20 and has not wavered. Dr Panton is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I felt totally at ease with him. To date this is one of the best procedures I did for myself and I believe Dr Panton is one of the best ophthalmologists around. Look no further for your eye procedures.

I have to say that my first review and crossing of letters between the doctors and myself I went to Panama, I asked them for my record and they give them to me as I told them my intentions of not returning to them. My doctor in Panama checked my eyes and when I explained that I was planning on finding another doctors here he recommended me going back to Panton as they were my doctors for many years and so was my mother.

I have to say that in one of the letters they kind of apologize and when I came back I wrote them a letter asking them if it was ok to return to them at which they responded that they would be more than honored to keep taking care of my eyes as they did for my mother. I make an appointment and everything went very smoothly and the treatment was the best this time, I also saw new faces in the reception area and they told me in the letter that they addressed our concerns to them and made changes to try and correct many problems and I hope so as I told them in my letters that this girls are the first faces we see when we go there, and remembering some of their words "we have moments of teaching" referring to the fact that I am a professor.

I hope that everything goes well, my eyes were good and with a good vision thanks God. As I said before these doctors were taking care of us for more than 15 years, and the behavior of the front girls were never the best, this is one example that shows that we should speak out and let know our concerns and especially when it comes with bad treatment of the people that represents doctors because is not fair to take that kind of behavior and because they were never told as I did in my letters the behavior of these girls and the manager of the office that never did anything to correct that.

I hope that things will get better because I have to say that they are good doctors and with a good practice. I hope my English this time is good because in my previous review was not as I was very upset and my grammar was very bad. Good luck.

I have been coming to this doctor for 30 years and while the doctor is amazing his office staff is rude and condescending. I'm seriously considering changing to a new doctor which is sad when Dr Panton is great and always taken care of my diabetic eyes.

So I'm torn about this review because the doctors here give decent medical care. However, their bedside manner leaves very much to be desired. During every single visit Dr. John kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain my symptoms. Not just once - continuously. I just gave up trying to talk - he obviously could read my mind. When I finally got to ask a question, his answer was condescending.

Not to mention that I was there for a routine follow-up exam yet it took me 2 hours to get out of there. There are better doctors out there - I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

(I'm writing this as I'm waiting for the doctor to show up in my room. )The doctors and staff are very nice but my concern is with the wait time. I've come to my appointments on time every time and even 30 minutes before my appointment time but I don't see a doctor until after 40+ minutes after my appointment time. As my appointment today is at 9am, they sat me in the room around 9:20am.

The intern came in around 9:40am. The intern did the exam which lasted 10-15mins. At the end he put in the dilation drops into my eyes and he said the doctor will come to see me soon, that was at 9:55am. I'm still waiting for the actual doctor to come into my room, it's 10:46am NOW. The drops only need 20-30 mins for the eyes to dilate. As my room door is open, I can see the doctor walking in the hallway and going into other patients rooms that came after me.

It is now 10:54am and I just approached a worker here and she did apologize for the the wait. As I explain to her that the doctor is seeing other patients first that came after me and that I feel that it's not fair. She told me that she did tell the doc to go in order but he does what he wants. I went back to my room and I saw her say something to the doctor. He came right in after that (10:57am). He never apologized for the wait. I made it into my car by 11:10am. Don't think I'll ever go back.

This is not the place for nationalities who are of African decent. I've watched the staff show favoritism by putting a white first. I personally witnessed a staff place this white lady first when a black woman was first in line. And on two separate occasions this racist place have seen patients who come in at their schedule appointment walk in to the exam room while again the African Americans sit and wait for over a hour while staff walks around as if nothing is wrong. Run people Run.

Did not like this eye doctor. It's like he didn't want to serve us. He gave my mom eye drops and did not explain for how long she has to put them on. Or what side effects she might have. Didn't explain anything. We were completely dissatisfied. I would not recommend this place to no one.

Both Drs. Panton are great, medically and personally. They've done cataract surgery on both eyes, "secondary cataract" surgery in one eye, and I've had to have a couple of emergency visits for eye injuries. My then-six-year-old son got glasses there, and I know a few doctors who go there, which ought to tell you something. Beautiful offices, too, very competent and efficient staff, and the best eye shop around, complete with optometrist/oculist.

Get your LASIK here (plus all other eye services)! Dr. Peter Panton performs the most current eye correction surgery available - no "mall" surgery with old lasers - they are the real deal. They are so thorough and careful, I felt totally at ease on the table. It was great, I had the LASIK, then could see a little after an hour, then even more clearly after another hour, and drove myself the next morning. I had coke bottle glasses, so it changed my life. They have ophthalmologists and optometrists. They are fluent in Greek for sure, and I think other foreign languages.
