Services
Podiatrists specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower leg. A podiatrist holds a doctor of podiatric medicine (D.P.M.) degree, which is a 4-year degree received from one of seven podiatric medical schools in the United States. These schools offer courses similar to the ones given at medical schools, where graduates earn M.D.s to become medical doctors.
Restore Your Foot Aesthetics & Comfort with our Bunion Doctor at Advanced Podiatry Services. Bunions are due primarily to genetic factors, but can become painful over time due to trauma, ill-fitting shoes and poor foot structure. What happens, is that the bone connected to the big toe starts to drift outward pushing the big toe sideways into the other toes which can also lead to painful hammertoes, corns and calluses.
Diabetics are prone to poor circulation, have a weakened immune system and impaired nerve function in their feet. Due to poor circulation or lack of sensation after poor circulation, diabetic feet are more susceptible to developing sores, and non-healing wounds which may lead to ulcers. These wounds can also develop into serious infections which can lead to amputations, loss of limbs and even loss of life.
The most common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. The main sign of plantar fasciitis is pain or stiffness on the bottom of the heel when first standing. The pain is often in the bottom inside edge of the heel, but can occur anywhere. The plantar fascia attaches to the heel. Patients often report that the pain moves around to different areas and can range from a dull ache to a debilitating sharp pain. The condition may come and go or be persistent for months to years. The plantar fascia is relatively inelastic and does not stretch very well.

It's been a while since I've visited but I couldn't have kinder regards for Dr. Penn and his staff. After having warts on my feet from yoga, that would not budge at cryotherapy, I knew I wanted to try Swift. Coming from Brooklyn, the price of the Swift treatment was cut in half. Dr. Penn was always courteous and aware of any pain or discomforts. The nurses at the front desk are lovely. Definitely a good family place for anyone to visit.

Took my toddler in for a toenail issue. Receptionist was very polite and knew how to handle my insurance ( most places don't). Was roomed quickly. Dr. Penn was so nice and gentle with my son. He was quick for the procedure, but took time to explain things and answer any questions.

Took my 11 year old daughter there for a bad ingrown toenail. wasn't allowed to go back with her but she is horrified after the experience and refuses to go back. he didn't numb it at all (like he did the first time) and he shoved a tool down the middle of her nail and took almost half her nail off. she was screaming and kicking in pain. Very unprofessional and I'm extremely upset.

I have driven from Syracuse to see Dr. Penn because he is the only one who cured my plantar fasciitis without cutting my feet open. He is highly skilled and trained in the most up to date technology. Will soon be contacting him for an issue my 16yo daughter is having, because doctors here want to cut her open. It is worth my time and drive out to the Buffalo area! I would give him Ten stars if I could, and the ladies in the office have always been super polite and professional with me.

It's so refreshing to visit a pleasant, super clean, hometown doctors office where the staff is equally as professional as it is friendly and helpful. Dr. Penn is an excellent MD. His therapy plans work. they are easy to follow and he makes it personal to you and your work/activity level. Plantar fasciitis be gone! You will be happy you chose him.

I began seeing Dr. penn due to plantar fasciitis. I had been dealing with it for over 6 months and it was causing me a lot of pain throughout the day. I had exhausted all other avenues.anti-inflammatories, orthotics and physical therapy.nothing made much of a difference. Dr. Penn advised me that Extra corpeal shock wave therapy had good results for people like myself.

Although my insurance did not cover the treatment, I agreed to receive the 3 treatments that were each a week a part along with wearing a splint for 2 hours per day (which made it feel much better). Now, after 3 months I am almost 100% better. I am so relieved and so appreciative of Dr. Penn's plan for me. I highly recommend this doctor, especially if you are struggling with plantar fasciitis.
