I don't have a problem with Dr. Hughes himself. My issue was with his receptionist. She was incredibly rude and was obviously had no interest in even trying to help me. I will find another doctor.

I have to tell you that I have been going to a Urologist at Glens Falls Hospital for four years now with a High PSA count that we have been watching. The doctor wanted to see me every six months. Twice I went to his office and the doctor had somebody else's chart. I had an appointment for January of this year and they moved the doctor's office into a different building and bumped my appointment in to September In which would make my appointment over a year.

My wife suggested going to Dr Peter Hughes and It was a good thing because after a examination he immediately scheduled a "Biopsy". Thank God I went to Dr. Hughes. He was not pushy and recommended removal of the prostate with robotic surgery with another robotic surgeon. He set everything up and it happen Quickly. I later found out that not only he is a good doctor that go's above and beyond I hear he also makes A fantastic lemon cake. I'm great full to say the least.

Avoid this doctor. His main interest appears to be piling up Medicare billables. After agreeing to his recommendation for an ultrasound of my prostrate, along with doing that he did an unexpected bladder exam, and after reporting that my prostrate looked OK on the ultrasound he took a number of unexpected biopsy samples. This resulted in me being on antibiotics for 3 weeks.

With a followup I was informed by his PA, who handled most of my visits, that although I wasn't on the Gleason scale, I was on some other scale I had never heard of, and it was recommend that I go on a "watch" schedule that appeared the be the same as if I was a Gleason 5. I will never go back.

My boyfriend has had a stent in for over 3 weeks due to a "Kidney stone" when told he only needed it for 10 days he goes and sees him this past monday and didn't even tell him about the full procedure to be told that he has to under go surgery today 3/8/19 this doctor also know he smokes medical marijuana for his severely bad anxiety and depression and PTSD.

They told him no smoking the morning of but wouldn't prescribe him a one time anxiety medication for the morning of knowing how bad his anxiety is, so he needed to smoke. They made us wait for 2 1/2 hours stuck an IV in his arm did labs a urine etc for them to come in and tell him he can't get his surgery done because of him smoking marijuana because Hughess office refused to prescribe an anxiety medication after being told by his partner in Saratoga and being told by me and his grandma. The worst doctor ever. I will be taking him else where!

Time for Peter Hughes to retire. He did an Sonic Lithotripsy on me and sent me home without calling in pain medication for the fragments of a 6 mm Stone I would pass for nearly 7 days. I returned to the Emergency Room the day after the procedure and was given proper medication, but at an additional cost. Also, when I was to meet with him for a consult for this procedure his receptionist said he was not in his office. He wasn't in his office, he was in the living room of his home attached to his office. Out of touch and apathetic. Time to hang up the shingle doc. Terrible experience.
