Did not document symptoms correctly, did not seem to care to help. Seemed eager to get rid of me (especially receptionist.) Nurses gave misinformation. Would give 0/5. Do not recommend. Felt short of breath and had chest pain, all they documented was cramping. Did not give documentation of any medication I had been given. (Which I had been given one intravenously).

I grew up in a ER because of my parents and I do not think I have ever witnessed a staff more unprofessional. when I call to question my care they did an "investigation" and found that their care "was appropriate" what they ER doctor told me and what they documented were two totally different things and I even had a friend there that says they never told me what they claimed to have told me.

Also to top it all off my Primary Doctor from Sanford called and asked if the ER had given me and pain meds to get me through the weekend till I get in for surgery (which I did not know I needed) and when I told her I did not get any she said "You NEED them". I wish I could give 0 stars. Go anywhere but here all I hear are horror stories.

We can't thank the nurses/staff in ER, same day & radiology dept. enough. They gave us the best care when our daughter sick. Keep up the great care!

Prairie Lake Hospital in Watertown SD is not following the covid rules but being very pushy and mean to people. Many nurses and staff don't wear masks, they go into a covid patients room and when they come out they don't wash hands or use hand sanitizer., they then proceed to go into my family members room who is free of covid. If my family member contacts covid I blame it on them.

They have a fit because a few people are sitting in the doorway in this cold weather waiting for news. We all have masks on and are minding our own business out of the way of other people. The staff at the front desk doesn't have a mask on and when we said if we have to wear one she does, she said she is not in public! What's good for the goose is good for the gander!

A traveling nurse that is part of the family (who goes to Hawaii, New Hampshire, Washington DC, etc. She has seen many hospitals) came and visited and saw the way things were done and said she couldn't believe it! She said they could be shut down so fast! She was so surprised the nurse came in and didn't wash her hands. I have had 12 babies in this hospital and have never been treated this bad. And have never seen the staff and nurses so rude!

We just left the ER here and it was a great. Our 2 year old was really sick and all the nurses were very sweet and talked her through things. Kevin Oliver was her doctor and he was very kind and helped while they swabbed her nose. Results took awhile but otherwise everything was clean and everyone was helpful and kind.

Was turned away by the Er. Told that I couldnt afford a Er visit to get a coved test. They offered me a paper to waive costs. If I had filled it out would have been a waste of my time because I make to much money. Needless to say I went to the er with 5k cash in my pocket. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I will be contacting my attorney.

You do not want to go to this emergency room! If at all possible go to Brookings instead. The nurses are okay, the doctors were last pick of the draft! There is only one good emergency room doctor so it's Russian Roulette. Good luck!

I've gone in twice for severe pelvic pain. They've diagnosed me with; "a painful period" without asking if I was on my period or doing any sort of pelvic exam or to see if I was having any reproductive complications. The second time I went in they didn't even check my vitals and just pumped me full of pain meds after listening to my lungs. Very disappointed with the quality of "care" I received.

Went here hoping for appropriate/empathetic care as I am a college student away from home. Staff seemed to not care that I wasn't feeling well and proceeded to do their paperwork on the computer instead of tending to me. Staff also told me that they could do an influenza test but that it was very expensive and they wouldn't suggest it since they thought it was just a cold.

They provided no care for me and sent me home. They said nothing about hoping I feel better soon. I've had friends tell me that the doctors and nurses just want to get me in and get me out for a pay check.

ER is AWFUL! They were REALLY slow and we were the only ones there. I haven't been there in years because the care was always bad. I went in recently and it was awful. I am done going there. I know why people say you will die there. They have no care for women. All these make 'doctors' want to start females with a pelvic exam no matter what the problem is. DISGUSTING

My elderly mother has been in and out of the hospital several times over the past few years, most times admitted through ER. I can't say enough about the hospital staff. They are kind, competent and willing to help in any way. I am especially thankful for Dr. Kindelspire for listening to my concerns and being willing to work with our family. Additionally, the hospital has the best food I've had in a hospital. You're in very good hands at Prairie Lakes.

The obsetrics and entire labor and delivery department alone is 5 star hands down! Thee best care team and overall experience during both deliveries. The ER experience wasn't the best, but they were quick to get more specialized care for our daughter, and kept her stable until we got her on an AirMed plane.
