Preferred Primary Care - Uma Purighalla Check out this new approach to a total health platform, introduced by the American Heart Association, that gives you simple resources to help create healthy habits that stick! You'll feel, think and sleep better. Our independently-owned physician group was founded in 1995 by ten primary care physicians in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. These physicians shared a common commitment to provide the highest quality care to the patients that it served.

To that end, the group initiated quality improvement programs, participated in research studies to advance primary care practice, and implemented electronic medical records well before most other practices.

At Preferred Primary Care Physicians, preferred health care is simply our standard. Our practice was established in 1995 when a group of dedicated physicians in the South Hills came together for one common purpose: to provide the highest quality care to their patients. Their ingenuity and expertise laid the foundation for our independently owned practice, which now operates out of more than 20 locations in the greater Pittsburgh area. Our elevated level of service is supported by our team-based approach, comprehensive clinical programs, and state-of-the-art outpatient centers.
At Preferred Primary Care Physicians we employ the latest advances in medicine and healthcare technology to deliver dependable, high-quality medical care to our patients. Outrageous! I went to Preferred Urgent Care to take a free Covid test for travelling to Europe in January. I just returned and found a few letters from this Clinic in my mail. I tried to call them in March from overseas but no one returned my call. For a PCR Covid Test that should be free to me, taken in the parking area after collection of my personal information (no entry into the clinic!) they have charged my insurance company US$511.50!

There was no request/mentioning of any cost, Co-pay or other, at the test site. It is OUTRAGEOUS to charge the insurance $511.50 for a simple test. I did not request anything else in addition, did not have any symptoms of illness or concerns. HOW can you defend such a charge? Now I have just returned to the US and received a FINAL NOTICE in the mail 2 May, dated 23 April.

This Smells like FRAUD CHARGES! During my visit in the Parking area (totally ~10 min with check-in and test) I was not informed about ANY charges. The bill I have received is for US$25. What For? What upset me the most is the charge my Insurance has been presented with.for a Covid Test. If there were a Co-Pay for the test I should have been informed directly and given the choice if I wanted to pay for the testing or choose another testing location-No information about ANY cost. Hiding charges, not returning voicemail calls and then sending FINAL NOTICE is Not OK.

I called and talked to a woman at the billing department. Very unpleasant. Then I called my insurance and found out that they had done incorrect Coding and billing modifiers, costshare modifier.kind of billing upon billing. My Insurance kindly took over to deal with them from there on. BE AWARE!

Switching pcps after this place and all their quack doctors and nurses. Under NO circumstances should ANYBODY working in a doctors office laugh at a patient because they chose to exercise their right as a free American not to get an experimental shot in their arm. Also, people should take you serious when you tell them something isn't right with your body. Instead, they shrug it off and call it anxiety when in fact, after getting a second opinion, there really is something going on with my pancreas. I wouldn't recommend these people to my worst enemy. The one lady doctor seems drunk half the time too. Totally unprofessional

Dr. Bovalino is an excellent primary care physician (PCP). I chose Dr. Bovalino based on multiple recommendations in an online women's group I belong to. And I have to say the recommendations were completely accurate. I've been to the office for 2 annual physicals. Dr. Bovalino is not rushed. He listens. He answers questions. He orders appropriate tests and makes recommendations (eg vaccinations, lifestyle adjustments) to optimize health.

I have been very pleased with our interactions. Additionally, the front office staff is wonderful. I actually complimented them after my first visit since one reason I was looking for a new PCP was the unhelpful, uncaring, and downright rude interaction that I had with the front office staff of my prior PCP. If you are looking for an excellent PCP with a caring, professional front office, your search is over. Choose Dr. Bovalino and Preferred Primary Care.

I've been a patient here for more than 30 years. I have seen all of the doctors and the nurse practitioner. Everyone is very thorough, and exams are never rushed. Despite what one reviewer indicates, there is not paper work at every visit. I haven't had to fill out a form in many, many years. Even when insurance has changed, I just give my new card to the front desk and they take care of everything.

There is sometimes, but certainly not always, a waiting time. As I say, exams are not rushed. Backlog can also be produced by patients arriving late for appointments. I'd rather wait than have a rushed exam.

Always professional and courteous office staff. Doctors spend time listening to your concerns and have a systemic, long-term plan for overall well being. Been going there for over 10 years and would recommend this place. A+++

I've been here two times. The first time, I arrived early knowing I'd have to do paperwork. Showed up at 3:10 for my 3:30 Appt. I turned in my paperwork and waited until 4:15 to get my name called. I went back to be examined by the nurse which wasn't too bad and went quickly. I then waited 15 minutes for the doctor. The doctor's exam was quick and easy.

Then I had to get a simple blood test. I ended up waiting in the exam room until 5:15 before I had to walk out. I spent two hours there. Then I go back to get the blood work that I couldn't wait for. I have a 3:00 appt so I get there ten minutes early. I wait for 45 minutes get my name called, get blood drawn over the span of literally a minute.and then I walk out the door. I am never coming back to the office.

Preferred Primary is interested in one thing: Money. Doctors are walled off by a staff of nurses and assistants who will never call a Doctor up to speak with you personally. Doctors park their vehicles upstairs and enter the building through the 2nd level, avoiding contact with patients. I have never seen a doctor in the waiting room or at the door inviting the patient in.

They are above offering coffee to their clients. I once objected to having to make a 2nd appointment to hear the results of a test. I had Doctor Bovolino call me and rudely state "we don't have time to call patients." before answering my question begrudgingly. I was seen by an Rn once, and though I do not question her ability, I do question why Preferred Primary charged me as if I saw a doctor. If you like being over tested, If you like being treated like cattle, Preferred Primary on Green Tree Road is the place for you.
