In 2006, our Weslaco site became the first sleep disorders center south of San Antonio to gain accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the United States' pre-eminent accrediting body for sleep disorders centers. In 2010, a second site in Edinburg became fully accredited, subsequently moving its operation a few blocks south in 2014 to a site in north McAllen, which in turn gained accreditation from the AASM in 2015.

A diagnosis of Central Sleep Apnea (CSA) indicates that your effort to breath repeatedly stops during sleep. In CSA, the muscles that control your breathing effort stop receiving the proper signals from the brain during sleep. The result is that your brain receives a message many times over the course of the night that it must awaken in order to resume normal breathing.

If I could, I'd give this medical facility ZERO stars! This is the most unethical outfit of so-called 'doctors' for whom I have ever had the supreme displeasure of having ever been seen. I was first referred to Dr. Abreu. I saw him a few times until the fateful day he asked me if I had gotten my COVID 'vaccine.' When I told him I hadn't and never would I, he went into a rage.
He literally argued with me for 10 minutes, showing me pictures of supposed lung damage to 'COVID patients' in an attempt to scare me. Once he realized he wasn't going to convince me to take the jab, he stormed out of the examining room and walked up to the nurse's station leaving the door wide open. I distinctly heard him say something to the effect of "No need to reschedule this patient.
He won't be coming back." I filed a formal complaint with the Texas Medical Board over his behavior and the fact he basically booted me out of his practice. The Medical Board determined there was 'no proof' of him having discontinued seeing me! This is what Dr. Abreu told them, and apparently he sent them documentation that my case was still active.
This was back in November 2021. Now it's April 2022. My PCP referred me to a Dr. Ortiz, who is part of this same facility. One day before my scheduled appointment with him, I get a voice mail message on my cell phone from the receptionist/scheduler. I was told the appointment was cancelled as they made a mistake of scheduling me. I had been dismissed from their practice--just as I told the Texas Medical Board!
I have it recorded on my voicemail now. I'm about to hammer this practice but GOOD! Apparently, Dr. Abreu lied to the Texas Medical Board and provided them false documentation, which is a felony, by the way. I will NEVER patronize this pathetic excuse for a medical practice again! In fact, if I had my way, I'd put them out of business!

Dr Abreu is a great doctor. Helped me clear my breathing problems. Now I feel well and worry free. I've never had to wait much than the normal. The nurses are so sweet especially the ones that do the breathing tests and X-rays. Front desk always so polite and courteous. Keep up the great job everyone.

Not a professional office/staff. My husband waited for over 5 months for his first appointment before it was rescheduled at the last minute due to doctor's conflicting scheduling. It would take another 4 months before they could see him and they cancelled again at the last minute. They wanted to schedule a third time until September, making it almost a whole year from the initial appointment.
Very disappointing situation. I will never TRY to do business with these people ever.because if I do, they MIGHT/MIGHT NOT see me a year or a year and a half later, if they continue playing their rescheduling game.

I've been seeing Dr. Kaplan for around seven years now except for one year that I had a different insurance. I would not change doctors for the world! My case is a little difficult in several ways, but Dr. Kaplan has really worked with me. I HIGHLY recomend him. The office staff and the nurses are also very sweet and helpful.

I took my mom for consultation with Dr Gomez, he didn't introduced himself, I asked him if he was the Dr. I asked him if my mom needed a pet scan since she has a tumor in her lung and her answer was "Do YOU HAVE A BACKGROUND IN MEDICINE "? As a concern for my mother I had questions, I never expected that he reacted like that. I guess his EGO IS SO BIG THAT HE IS CLOSED FOR SUGESTIONS. Very disappointed visit. I will request another doctor, hopping for better results. Very sad seeing a professional acting like that

What a wonderful place! Dr. Pean is a favorite of mine, he took care of me when I had my lung surgery and it was with great gratitude and pleasure to have him as my doctor at this Center. The staff was great! So nice and helpful and pleasant. Did not wait very long to be seen and cared for. I am so impressed! Thank you Dr. Pean for your wonderful care! When an unexpected issue came up, I was admitted to the hospital for over a week. Dr. Pean and Dr Abreu were attentive and considerate to my case and I was in good hands. 10/10 recommend this clinic and these doctors! I've also heard good things about other doctors here! Great for any pulmonary needs in the valley!

Literally walked out of this place after waiting an hour and a half and still not seeing the doctor. I made an appointment for 2pm. Checked in at 1:50pm. They took my vitals at 2:45, then put me in a room finally at 3:10. I was in the room until I decided to leave at 3:30pm. I was going to be a new patient. Made an appointment for a different place instead.
If you're going somewhere to be seen for a serious health issue, they should take your time more seriously and not squeeze appointments in when clearly there is not time. I was asked if I'd prefer to see a nurse practitioner, but I declined because I intended on seeing a doctor. Wasted 3 hours of my Friday.

I came Into the office as a walk in. I was expecting to be waiting hours to be seen. I was taken to the back in about an hour, which was understandable to me. The entire staff from start to end was so polite. I saw Dr Gomez, who I would highly recommend. He answered all my questions and seemed genuinely concerned about my issues. Both my husband and I were impressed with the level of professionalism and kindness we received.
