We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our practice and to thank you for choosing our physicians to participate in your healthcare. We offer a variety of testing and procedures in the office and can schedule ancillary testing off-site. We offer a selection of styles and brands of hearing aids that range from the almost invisible in-the-ear models to the new open-fit models.
Services
We now offer two convenient locations; 390 N. Pearson Drive in Porterville and 206 N. Santa Fe in Visalia. We established our offices in the Central Valley understanding that many people prefer to avoid the hassles of navigating to a new doctor's office in a major city. Our office strives to provide all the resources that you would find in a big city office in a convenient, friendly small-town setting, nestled against the beautiful Sierra-Nevada Mountains. Our focus is to provide the best care for your hearing needs as well as your other ear, nose, and throat complaints.
Cochlear implants are indicated for patients who have a severe hearing loss in both ears that can no longer be effectively helped by hearing aids. We opened our cochlear implant program in Porterville in 2005, and have several success stories. We both know the answer is cochlear implants. The true excitement is not that I can hear the parrot, but that I can hear the people in my life.
A selection of styles and brands are available, ranging from the almost invisible in the ear models to the new open-fit models. You will be fit by Reid Adams-Denner, a licensed Audiologist & Hearing Aid Dispenser. His years of experience and knowledge will help fit you with an aid that meets your unique needs.
From Northern or Southern California, take Hwy 99 to the Hwy 190 Eastbound exit, located 45 minutes north of Bakersfield and 60 minutes South of Fresno. Travel east on Hwy 190 for 15 miles to Porterville. Go North on Hwy 65 to the Henderson exit (2nd exit). Go East (right) on Henderson to Villa (3rd light).

Have gone here twice. Twice got my diagnosis wrong. Was referred by my Dr as he was easiest to get into. That should say it all. Never again.

Very pleased with my visit with Dr Reader. He listened to my concerns and was able to take care of my issue. I definitely will see him again should the need arise. His office staff is very pleasant and easy to work with as well.

I had an issue with enlarged turbinates and deviated septum. I wasn't able to breath and had really bad episodes like fainting, dizzy, etc. I went under surgery to fix issue with Dr Reader, but the surgery didn't work at all, it actually made things worst. He then schedules a clinic procedure on left nostril for better air flow, it didn't work.

He then schedules endoscopy and as a result another procedure saying deviated septum issue is still a problem with local anesthesia he breaks nose and repositioned it, but this didn't work or help. After all these procedures I asked him to send me for an image testing to see how things look, turns out I had enlarged turbinates and deviated septum. Looked for a second opinion.

Found Dr Allen Evans at Fresno, scheduled surgery and was successful! Breathing great, no excuses just good results. I wouldn't recommend Dr Reader, be careful and don't waste time if you are not getting the results you are wanting, see a 2nd Dr for different opinion. Would like to see if I can sue him for malpractice! Not sure how to do it though! Hope this helps someone so you don't go through what I did!

Dr. Reader is an excellent doctor with an outstanding staff. His office is one of the best organized offices I've ever seen. The wait time once you arrive for your appointment is never more than 5-10 minutes. The doctor has a wonderful, professional personality and makes you feel at ease the minute you meet him. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Reader. Visalia and Porterville are blessed to have his offices in their cities.

I did an office procedure with Dr Reader that now allows me to breathe better since my turbinates were very swollen. I did not feel a thing under local anesthesia. The whole experience felt like I was in a spa with relaxing music, face mask and very attentive staff. versus feeling nervous preparing for a surgery I highly recommend Dr Reader. I recovered so fast, I was able to work the next day.

Dr. Reader is a really great ENT doctor! In our area, we have very few ENT specialists, so I know how hard it is to continually be taking new patients! Dr. Reader sees new patients on a regular basis, accepts most insurances, and is flexible with billing/payment plans. They have two locations, one in the Porterville area and one here in Visalia. There is also a licensed audiologist and hearing aid specialist that works in this same office - most days you can get both your hearing test and doctors visit on the same day! Dr Reader also offers cochlear implants and BAHA implants (bone anchored hearing aid implants) to qualified individuals- doing surgery both at the hospital and also the surgery center.

The best part is that he doesn't have you comings back for return visits that you don't need. Definitely worth coming to see him if you are having any issues with your hearing/ears.

Roughly 2 months ago my primary made an appointment here for me. I have had ringing in my ears for months. I have really been looking forward to getting answers and relief. I received notice in the mail 2 months ago. Nothing for 2 months. Nothing, no paperwork to fill out to bring with me. Nothing. This morning I received a call confirming. Told them I'd be there.

Then this afternoon I received a call telling me that I had to pay for the whole visit before submitting to the insurance. My doctors have always submitted and then billed me. It's not about the money as much as it is poor customer service. Why didn't you tell me 2 months ago? People need to budget. I was told that's the way it is. I said cancel the visit. Office staff said ok fine. Not a care or sorry your ears are ringing. Lousy customer service. Office staff could use some training. Now to find a doctor that cares.

Don't waste your time seeing Dr. Reader. He never did a CT of my sinuses Alll he did was give me Flonase and refused to hear all my symptoms and look into it deeper. So needless to say I'm still feeling terrible and looking for a new doctor.

Dr Reader is a great doctor. I was referred to him by my GP when another ENT couldn't help me. He is very kind and very thorough. I would highly recommend him.
