Since 1972, the Rhode Island Health Center Association (RIHCA) has been the voice of community based primary care health programs. Focusing on Rhode Island's community health centers, the Association plays a vital role in educating federal, state and local policymakers about issues relating to health care and the role of the community health centers in the health care continuum.
Rhode Island Health Center Association works to support, sustain and strengthen community health centers so they can provide high-quality, patient-centered, integrated health care that addresses health disparities, social determinants of health and population health. Every Rhode Islander has equal access to affordable, high-quality, culturally sensitive, comprehensive health care that recognizes and responds to the needs of a diverse population. We respect the worth of each individual and believe in the right to be treated with dignity, honesty, and integrity.
Rhode Island Health Center Association manages the state's Navigator Program under a contract with Health Source Rhode Island and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. Every federally qualified health center and eleven community-based organizations throughout Rhode Island have Navigators ready to help connect Rhode Islanders to health insurance.
RIHCA works continually with health center executive directors and clinical leadership to identify targeted trainings and technical assistance to build health center capacity in operational and clinical areas.
