Services
Riverside Cardiology Associates Medical Group was founded in 1989 by Dr. Pond and Dr. Chen. We are a full-service organization of board certified cardiologists with diverse yet complementary skills. Dr. Pond's area of interest is general cardiology, including echocardiography, stress testing, nuclear imaging, and diagnostic cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography.
Observing a person while walking on a treadmill allows us to determine a person's level of fitness, and to evaluate the cause of chest pain that could suggest cardiac ischemia. A technician, physician assistant, or physician are present at all times, and we are prepared for any problems that might arise.
Our office staff will be happy to answer any questions about your condition, medications, or treatment. An answering service will assist you after normal office hours if you have any questions. In the event of an emergency, go to the nearest hospital for immediate assistance. One of our physicians is always on call for nights and weekends.

My mother was a patient of one of the cardiologists at Riverside Cardiology Associates who specializes in the TAVR heart valve procedure. Unfortunately, my mother's experience ended tragically. He told us that someone with her condition had a 40% chance of dying in two years without it. Said he had performed this on 300 patients and had never lost a patient doing this procedure.

Following his recommendation, she proceeded with the TAVR at Riverside Community Hospital. Said he would have a world-renowned pioneer in attendance when the procedure was done, along with two other cardiologists, four in all. Sounded impressive, right? One of the other cardiologists came into the waiting room to tell me the operation was a success.

But she was never able to regain full consciousness afterward. They moved her out of intensive care after just two days, even though all sorts of complications started occurring, including infections, internal bleeding, etc. For five weeks her condition continued to spiral out of control till she passed away. During this time I was speaking with as many as four different doctors a day.

I stayed with her practically round the clock. But the visits became fewer and fewer as time went on. By the last two weeks I hardly saw any doctors. Seemed like they had written her off. She may have had a 40% chance of dying in two years without the TAVR but she had a 100% chance of dying in five weeks with it. Wish I'd never heard of that miserable procedure.

Totally overrated. Afterwards no one reached out to me, either from RCH or RCA. All I got was a D_ Certificate with a generic Cause of D_. I buried her shortly before Christmas

Dr Waked is the reason why I am able to write this review. His care, attention to detail, and genuine care for my health and well-being are the reason why I come to see him. His office is out of network for me and my insurance but I would rather pay for quality care than to go to a quick serve facility where they have a time limit with patients. I highly recommend Dr Waked!
