Our approach is based firmly on an integrated psychiatric and behavioral model and we provide complete diagnostic and treatment services for kids, adolescents, and adults.
Services
The Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine (RCBM) is located at 441 South Livernois Suite 100 in Rochester Hills, Michigan. We are midway between Avon Rd and Walton (University) on the east side of the street. Ascension Crittenton Hospital is a quarter of a mile away. Rochester Hills is a quiet suburb about 20 miles north of Detroit.
To ensure quality medication management, it is RCBM policy that treatment plans are reviewed on a regular basis. For this reason, patients are required to be seen every three months by their prescribing clinician. We suggest that you check your prescriptions before you accept them from your pharmacist and pay your co-pay.
The Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine brings together a multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise across the spectrum of mental health disorders. We pride ourselves on offering all of your mental health treatment services under one roof to promote coordination of care and bring you a stress-free treatment experience.
RCBM is a research hub, where we conduct clinical trials designed to test the effects of a new or existing treatment on and health and disease. A clinical trial is any research study that assigns human participants to ethical health-related experiments to evaluate the effects on health outcomes. Joel Young, MD has been conducting clinical trials with his team at RCBM since the early 2000's.
Health insurance is a signed contract with a health insurance company that requires the company to pay for some of your health care costs. That does not mean they will pay for everything. You will still have a responsibility to pay some costs. Below is a list of common insurance terms and their definitions.

We met with Yvonne to discuss ADHD in my son. She was thorough, patient, and so kind. I felt well informed after our consult, and I knew the next steps. Great care!

Dr. Hutton is extremely compassionate and down to earth. She has worked me into her extremely busy schedule because she honestly cares about her patients. She isn't a "check the box" doctor--she asks real questions, and will often shine a light on her own mirroring experiences and feelings. I would recommend her to anyone.

Rachel Kwiatkoski is the best. She really listens to me and I feel very comfortable in talking with her. She is caring and empathetic and has went the extra mile for me. I feel blessed to have her as my therapist. I have also seen Carol Rembor and she is very good at managing my medications and I enjoy the in person meetings with her.

The person I spoke with was very respectful and a good listener. She stayed on task in a friendly way. She was decisive. I think she was very careful not to tell me what to do, but to ask me what I wanted to do given the information she shared. I was able to trust her with my truth.

If you miss an appointment, it will take you months to get another. They're willing to charge you an arm and a leg for service then say they're "short staffed." After my missed appointment, they withheld my medication. I have been off my necessary meds for two weeks now and I was unable to make another appointment until late June. I imagine this is what withdraw symptoms are like.

You might as well go somewhere cheaper because the healthcare quality is going to be just as good. The staff was very nice however. I love Carol, she has been fantastic to me. If only she had been prescribed me kindness :/ By the way, half the negative responses mention telehealth, you'd think you would get the picture by now.

This facility and its employees are the benchmark of professionalism! Dr. Young Is the first doctor I have seen that truly understands elderly ADD. I have not had a bad experience with any employee. Thank you all for treating us so well.

My first visit was a breath of fresh air. I had been using Cerebral app and was glad to switch to the Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine. My first appointment was thorough and I was able to seamlessly switch over. I very much prefer the individualized approach and care taken in regards to addressing my mental health issues. I would definitely recommend.

Somehow my daughter was lucky enough to become Katie's patient and I could not be more grateful. Katie is a great listener and it shows in the care she provides for her patients. As a mom, I appreciate that she includes me and makes sure we're both on the same page. Katie also ensures my daughter understands and is an active participant in her treatment. Highly recommend!

I had my first appointment with Katie young and another Katie who I believe was a NP student. Regardless, I had a great first time appointment. My appointment started on time, both Katie's were very kind, explained the process well and went over my history and actually listened to me. At the end they explained what I can expect and steps moving forward. So far, I truly cannot complain.

First off, everything is being done via telehealth, which is not the best for kids. The clinician that did the intake was wonderful and skilled. After that we were hounded via email several times a week with long overwhelming emails from the assessment coordinator telling me and my child (11) we had to complete the assessment within seven days or we have to start over. When you have a child with needs such that an assessment is warranted, this is not in any way a realistic time frame to expect completion of the documentation. Do better.
