In 1992, seven progressive ophthalmologists had a greater vision for the type of medical eye care treatment Pueblo, Colorado deserved. They put aside competitive notions, merged their practices and formed Rocky Mountain Eye Center. A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye that can affect the quality of the vision. Most cataracts are due to aging but some develop due to trauma, certain medications or diseases. Almost all people will start to develop cataracts in their early 60's. As the cataract gets cloudy, the visual quality deteriorates.
A change in glasses or the use of sunglasses may restore good vision. Eventually, the cataracts tend to get worse and must be removed to allow clear vision. The cataract is replaced with an artificial lens called an intraocular lens (IOL), also called an implant, and is made of plastic, silicone or acrylic.
Your doctor will suggest cataract surgery only if he or she believes it will be of benefit, not just because you have a cataract. Many cataracts come on slowly and you may not realize how poor your vision has become. Oftentimes, patients come in for an eye exam if they fail their driver's license eye exam and discover they have a cataract - even though they thought they were seeing well!

The visit itself and the nurse and doctor who helped me were great. What I am upset about is that I get home with my new prescription ready to order new glasses with, only to find out that my prescription hasn't even been entirely filled out! A ton of info that I needed to order new glasses was MISSING! I use ZENNI to get new glasses and thank the stars they had my old prescription saved.

The doctor told me my prescription barely changed, and literally all that was on my prescription was what had changed, NOT THE REST OF THE PRESCRIPTION THAT HADN'T, IT WASN'T EVEN THERE! I HAD TO FILL OUT THE REST OF MY PRESCRIPTION MY DAMN SELF! H O W am I supposed to know all this info that is blank? I literally filled out what I had and ZENNI wouldn't let me order them yet because a lot of info that had been left blank on my prescription they needed from me! Thank god they had the missing info saved from last year, which hadn't changed mind you, but why didn't that info go on my prescription as well? I? Don't? Understand?

They are wonderful people very nice but if you have insurance it's $350 for your eye exam and if you don't have insurance it's only 115 so they screw the insurance people will not be going back but I did pay my bill all of $245

Called to have a procedure done that I have had done there before. Receptionist said the doctor on duty could get me in this afternoon. Left work early and paid my co pay only to be told by the doctor she doesn't do that procedure and I had to reschedule with another doctor. Will find another eye care center for my families needs

My dayghter had appointment at Abriendo facility when she arrived she was checking in my sister taken her as I work over night didn't think was a big deal well they made her reschedule because I wasn't the one to take her what does it matter who takes her feel like this Is ridiculous especially having to take her outta school early and have someone available to take her then this happens. Exactly why I don't care for Rocky Mountain Eye Center definitely gotta find and place. Awful service.

I have been seeing Dr Mitch Brown for a few years and he and his assistants have been professional but have such good people skills. Dr Brown always takes the time to patiently explain any issues and has never been hurried or rushed. After discovery some problems including issues from diabetes, Dr Brown has followed up and given encouragement to help preserve my eyesight. A big thank you to him and he various aides. I highly recommend as this is how any medical visit should be like.

Adrian was very helpful. Went out of his way for me. Then handed it over to Erica since she had previously helped me. Adrian and Erica are very professional. Special shout out to Adrian a team player. These two employees are part of the reason I have been a customer for 20 plus years.

Jan 14- Eye exam date and glasses ordered. Jan 29- I went to the Montbello office for the eye exam. I understand being efficient but it was almost as though they were rushing us out. The Optical department has about the worst customer service I have had in years. I have tried calling them 11 times now, all during the hours when they were supposedly open.

Every time I had to leave a message on their machine. They have yet to return any of my calls. I need to see if either of the 2 pairs of glasses I ordered are ready for pick up. The lenses on the glasses I currently have are cracking. I am ready to tell them to give me a refund and keep the glasses. Just answer the phone. Maybe I should have went to WalMart.

They don't seem to realize that a lot of people work. I have to take time off work to pick up glasses. I can't just tell my manager "I have to leave to see IF my glasses are in". Update Feb 1- How hard is it to answe the phone. I called first thing in the morning 0930. Still no call. I called again and talked to operator. She put me on hold and tried paging them.

Still no response. The operator took my number and walked it over to the Optometry department and I am still awaiting a phone call. I will post more once they call. They called about 3:15. Glasses were not ready but at least they have finally responded. Feb 2- Lillie called back after finding out status of my glasses. She is now personally handling it.

I don't have a complaint about glasses not being ready. Just that it seems they avoided returning calls. I hope they understand the frustration created by not responding to customers and providing answers. Thank you Lillie for getting back to me promptly. Feb 9- Center called saying glasses were being finished and should be in Feb 10 delivery Feb 11- I called the center and they actually answered.

I was told to hold while they call the lab. When she got back to me she said that it was going to be a few more days. I hope you are not in need of the glasses as I am. It will have taken them over one month to get one of the 2 pairs ordered complete.

At my initial annual eye exam, the tech that brought me in to get started had severe body odor and was very unorganized. The Dr. later came in and spent minimal amount of time with me. I was told that i needed an eyelift, and agreed that my vision was being impaired. At the initial visit for the surgery, Dr Hellman seemed rushed and quickly explained the procedure.

I felt rushed out and then scheduled the surgery. Surgery staff were great, but again Dr Hellman seemed rushed. At the follow-up apt, the tech that brought me back looked unkept and hair very greasy/dirty. Dr Hellman came in, again rushed, and said i looked good. I had concerns that i brought to him and he basically shrugged them off like i was crazy and was very condescending. I told him that i am feeling like i dont want the other eye done and he said " oh you'll be back ". Nope, will not be back!

Forgot my id have 3 cards that all match my name a digital copy of my insurance card with my name and had to sit and wait for her to ask for 5 min what to then asked me for a FREAKING sams club card! They will take a picture of anyone like when dod a sams club card become a form of id! I told her if thats what you want to use look at my facebook are you serious! Then im sitting here listing to her talk to her coworker about everything that just happed real profesional! Im here due to pink eye or else i would walk out!
