This place and this doctor in particular was referred to me by my neighbor. I can see now why. Everybody there was very friendly and very efficient. They were on time so much that I didn't even have to sit down in the waiting room. As soon as I checked in, they took me back and from and from one technician to the next, they were absolutely phenomenal. Very knowledgeable doctor as well. Doctor Hansen

I am overwhelmed with the results of my eye doctor. He is the best hand's down. Dr. Steven Montgomery is the best. He walked me through everything before my eye surgery. It was a pleasure to have him preform my eye surgery. The team he has is also great. I'm am overwhelmed.love your eye thank you Adrian Rivard.

Everyone who worked there was very efficient and professional at their jobs. Each person working there had a different job function and quickly managed to move clients from one job function to another. Dr. Hansen was extremely knowledgeable and able to quickly identify eye problems and clearly explain his findings and identified and scheduled an expert doctor who could be involved in further treatment.

I have been going to Shepherd Eye Center for over 15 years. Generally they are courteous and efficient. My last visit on May 26 unfortunately was not the case. I waited over an hour to be called and then more waiting for the dilation and then another wait to see the actual doctor. In all, my visit on this appointment was a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Not sure why the scheduling was so backed up on this day. This is usually a fine and competent medical facility.

I have been going to Shepard Eye Center for more than 25 years. Dr. John Shepard did my cataract surgery in 1997. The staff and technicians are very efficient and professional. My doctor, Dr. Steven Hansen is wonderful. He is kind, considerate and very knowledgeable. He takes the time to listen to me and explains whatever I don't understand. I would never go anywhere else.

I had an 8:20 am appointment and at 9:30am still haven't seen the physician. Don't come here. It's an overbooked cattle call. I'm thinking 20 other people were booked for same time for the small number of doctors. Completely disrespectful of people's time and having to get back to work. And, they take the co-pay immediately, not telling you that you're going to need to wait well over an hour to get to the doctor's room, and still wait longer to see doctor.

Unfortunately, my M.D. opthamologist decided to join this medical group. I have been repeatedly treated like complete garbage by the support staff. They treat me like a complete moron, despite the fact that I have been a lawyer for 44 years, with a degree from a Top Ten law school. I have been trying to see my M.D., or another M.D. for a month and have been nothing but jerked around.

They made an appointment for me for early this morning. I got both a live human reminder call and an electronic reminder call. When I got there this A.M. they had no record, at all, of my appointment. So now I've got an appointment for 9 days from now. DO NOT patronize this huge "medical group" unless you want your time wasted and to be treated disrespectfully by the unprofessional staff.

Did I have to give them one star? Terrible service. I went in to get my cataracts checked. They told me one service was not covered, but they did not advise me that it was for an eye exam. I advised them I have been to several eye specialists and have NEVER received a bill. I did not want a prescription for glasses, and if they were honest and told me it was for an eye exam for prescription glasses I would have declined.

I have received the exam where they check your eyes - is 1 or 2 better. Then the doctor hands me a prescription for eye glasses using the same #s as the eye glasses I got from the DOLLAR STORE. Thievery! They should not be able to get away with these deceitful practices. PLEASE do not go to them - they are terrible. I had this test done previously at several other eye specialist - and NEVER been billed. This place is only trying to get as much money out of us as they can. I am a senior citizen on a limited budget. NOT FAIR WHAT THEY DID TO ME.

I have gone to a total of two appointments here, one around a year ago, and one yesterday. The first one was fairly standard - a long wait, and then I saw my doctor - although I felt distinctly uncomfortable and demeaned in the presence of the doctor I went to see - Dr. Eisenberg. That was a feeling which was confirmed by my companion at the appointment.

The second appointment, which I attended yesterday, was objectively an unsatisfactory experience, and I will not be returning here.ever. I went in for a simple eye pressure check, but ended up waiting for an excessively long time, receiving markedly poor communication and service. In that time period, I never saw the doctor I was scheduled to see - Dr. Eisenberg. Eventually, after being shuffled around multiple waiting rooms, my companion and I left the appointment without me ever seeing the actual doctor - thoroughly unsatisfied with the service being provided and feeling as though both of our times had been wasted.

I understand that medical professionals are busy, but that doesn't serve as adequate reason as to why I was given no clear or accurate communication as to where in the process we were and why certain tests were administered. People that came into waiting rooms well after me were seen nearly immediately, whilst I sat waiting, confused and displeased.

I was given several tests which were not necessary, had someone looked at my records. In addition to this, when checking in for my appointment, staff here continually spoke to my companion instead of me, asking her for my personal information (name, date of birth, etc), even though it was made clear by both of us that I am more than capable of spoken communication and know my personal information.

As a blind person, that is an incredibly dehumanizing way to be treated, particularly in a medical setting. I deserve to be spoken to like an autonomous person as much as anyone else does. I, essentially, paid this office twice for a demeaning experience - and in the instance of the second appointment, paid without even receiving the service I was scheduled to be provided.

I had some eye issues that needed the care of an opthamologist and contacted Shepherd Eye Center and got an immediate appointment the next day. The waiting time was only 30 minutes after my appointment time. The staff were all courteous and I saw Dr. Theodosis, a board certified ophthalmologist who carefully checked my eyes and gave me a referral for follow up with a retina specialist just to make sure everything is okay. He did not rush me and patiently answered all my questions before we finished. I received good follow-up care information and would return if necessary.

Dr. Hansen is calm and thorough. I always feel informed and well cared for. I trust that they are at the fore-front of technology and the latest advances in eye care. I am grateful to be a patient!

I normally go to their other office at Carnegie in Henderson. I wanted to see Dr. Montgomery before the end of the year but they didn't have anything open at that office so I asked for the Pecos office. I was glad I did. I was extremely impressed the way this office checked in their patients. The first person standing by the front door checking in the patient was courteous and very helpful. Kudos to the front office. The whole process went very smooth. They gave me a Five-diamond Service. Their service now is better than before the pandemic.

I had an appointment for 12:50 today. Got there on time and checked in using the machine in the lobby then sat down to wait. After 30 minutes and several people that got there after me being called I spoke to the counter staff and was told that yes she saw me in the computer, I should sit down and wait. Ten minutes later I was called to the counter and was told that I was late to my appointment and I said no but she insisted that I was late because I had checked in at 1:17.

I said no I was not late and tried to explain what had happened the young lady interrupted me and said that's ok you will be seen next. I figured something had gone wrong with the machine check in which resulted in the long wait and I was not happy. She took my chart to the back and I sat down to wait some more. Several more patients were called and I still waited.

Finally I just told them to cancel my appointment after waiting for almost an hour. I am not going back there, there are plenty of eye doctors in Henderson they don't need my business.

This office is so horribly run it's unbelievable. If I have an appointment at 1:30 I'm lucky to be called back by 3:00, and they don't even care. Go elsewhere!

Amazing that a place like this can stay afloat with such poor customer service and workmanship! I've used them before for exams, glasses, and even cataract surgery, so I am a previous customer. Went back this year for an exam and new glasses to replace my scratched ones. After a small co pay (expected), and $400+ for my new glasses. they were blurry.

They said I should try them for a week or two and come back if they were still blurred. They were, I went back, re-examed me, , and they sent my new glasses out to be redone. Came back, I went in, and they were STILL BLURRED. I told them they were the same, and they said if I wanted to re do it, there would be another charge. They made no further effort.even for a previous customer.customers must be cheap to get nowadays.

The transaction was done! I ended up going to an optometrist at a mall, they replaced the lenses in my new frames (after an exam, obviously) and now I can see! no more blur! Too bad Shepard wouldn't take the time to figure out the problem. They lost a customer and got a bad review. Obviously, they care little about either. By the way, I NEVER heard from them again! Don't waste your time and money with these guys!

They don't even do contact lens exams there anymore. the more ridiculous part was when the receptionist said, "you could ask the doctor and see if he'll do it for you!" She said that they might do it for me this time because I've had it done there before (I've been there the last 3 years and had it each year.) all this explanation was after she'd taken my payment and I said nope just refund me and I'm out.

I don't have time to "see" if an eye doctor will do me the favor of doing my contact lens exam when my card was already charged over $100 for an exam. the whole thing was BS. Thanks for wasting my time, it was so much fun.

I am a nurse and the care I received at Shepherd Eye Center was unacceptable. The ophthalmologist examined my eyes and verbally told the medical assistant the prescription for my glasses. When I saw the printed prescription I immediately knew it was wrong. I told the doctor and she stated, "the medical assistant made an input error". She went on the computer and fixed it.

If I had not noted the error, I would have ordered and paid for glasses that I would not be able to see out of. I was told the glasses would be ready in 2 weeks. It took almost 4 weeks. Calls I made inquiring about the delay, in getting the glasses, were not returned. When I went to pick them up, the waiting room was empty. A short obese women in the back of the office yelled repeatedly, "you have to wear a mask".

I had been vaccinated 6 months prior and was more than 20 feet from anyone else. Yelling at patients is never appropriate. Medical errors are never appropriate, there are systems to prevent them. Not returning patient calls is never appropriate. AVOID Shepherd Eye Center.

If i could give a zero i would. I am the driver for a friend's followup cataract surgery. We arrived here at 9:15. It is now 10:45 and my friend just was taken in! This is unacceptable. Shepherd eye is like a factory with no regard for their patient's time and no scheduling staff who have a clue!

When I scheduled my appointment, the office informed me that they are on both my health insurance plan and my vision plan. During my appointment they documented my very mild cataract as my primary diagnosis even though I only requested a routine eye exam. They also did a refraction test that I did not request. I was charged $50 for the test and was told my vision or health plans would not cover my visit due to my cataract diagnosis. They refused to submit my claim for the eye exam. I would not recommend this provider for your eyecare.

I have been a patient for over 5 years. I pay my co-pay, wait probably longer than usual, but then get my prescription and out the door. This time? I got charged for refraction with lenses and other garbage I didn't ask for and wasn't told it would increase the amount billed. After a 90 dollar co-pay, I then get billed for an additional 217. Got a total run around from billing.

I don't have any eye problems. My prescription didn't change from last year. If you're going to start adding garbage fees to the bill just to compensate for the bad year, I'm done with this office. It was the center on Horizon Ridge. If you have Humana check your bill. Mine said it was out of network.?

YES, there is a wait time, just like A LOT of doctor's offices. Even though you WAIT, I had a pretty pleasant experience. The two lady techs that checked my eyes prior to seeing Dr. Oh were friendly and professional, but so was Dr. Oh! The three of them made my first eye exam a very positive. I would recommend this office just because of them. Having people that seem like they want to do their job made this appointment worth it for me because good attitudes in healthcare are much needed!

The only thing I wish was different was the front office. When I'd call it seemed like they didn't want to help with my questions. Like it wasn't related to the practice to ask about how much my visit was gonna be. The girl who checked me in on my appointment day also commented on my sunscreen smell and it made me feel kind of insecure for putting on sunscreen Another thing was I wasn't asked if I wanted all the extra recommended, but not required coatings on my lenses!

They were just automatically applied. I had to ask if they had been added and have them removed because the price was so high. Luckily I asked or I wouldn't have been able to get the glasses that are gonna help me see better at night! Would make it a 5 star experience if the lady's that answer the phone were better with phone etiquette and if I was simply asked if I wanted the extra coatings. Other than that thank you to the Techs and Dr. Oh. They were great! :

I changed insurance. Over the phone they said that they took my insurance. When I got to the office the front desk person said that they did not take it. I called my insurance to double check and I guess the front desk person was wrong. Also, the front desk person was caughing heavily. This is a pandemic. You should let your employees stay home and not get your patients sick. You are a healthcare provider.

My appointment was for 9:20 and the office didn't seem that busy but none the less here I am waiting. Why is it as a customer our time counts for zero but they can let you wait for an hour or more and they seem to think it's alright. They have all your information and make copies then hand you paperwork to fill out when they already have all your information.

I went to the Shepard eye clinic on horizon ridge location for cataracts, and for a childhood injury when I was 8 as I scratched the eye cornea and had almost no vision in my right eye. The dr took the time to say I think we should refer to our specialist Dr. Alder as I think we can do a corneal transplant on your right eye to restore your vision, and then to do the cataracts down the road. Im 64 and this was the first time any eye Dr. addressed my lost vision in my right eye due to the cornea being scratched.

I have had the transplant and have to wait for my right eye to heal and address the cataract issue to see if sight comes back to my right eye. I am so happy they took the time to address my scratched cornea issue. And I am hopeful!

We went there for my two year old vision exam, we saw dr Rovitt, I don't know how this person is associated with pediatric. He is one of the least kind, compassionate pediatric doctors I've met. This guy didn't look at my child at all, he looked in his computer the whole time, then took a quick look and dismissed us. Now granted it is hard to check a 2 year old, but his cold careless Approach threw us off.

He was annoyed that my son made noise and believe me not even loud one. My son is very behaved for a two year old but he's a 2 year old, what do you expect., how are you specializing in pediatric. Terrible choice, my family and I will not be giving them any more free money!

This review is for the Shepherd Eye Center on Horizon Ridge in Henderson. If you come to this branch, be sure to have plenty of time & enjoy playing musical chairs as you go from one waiting room to another. We've been to three offices, one in Henderson (which is convenient to our home) the one on Pecos-McLeod & another on Post Rd. All seem to operate basically the same way.

Upon arrival you check in & wait to be called to the front desk to check your paperwork, return to your seat & wait to be called by a technician to begin your exams (how many depends upon exactly what you're in for) & finally being called in to see your doctor. Bring your patience & something to read, you'll get through it. The staff, doctors & technicians are very professional & courteous.

Well worth the wait. Their office is clean, neat & modern. But, it does get busy. The Mrs & I both go to this office, Dr Curvant for her Dr Eisenberg for me. I've had cataract surgery on one eye & although I'm not looking forward to another, I'm certainly not worried about the next one.
