Sierra Nevada Ear, Nose & Throat has been serving Reno, Carson City, Gardnerville and Fallon for 25 years. Our team of northern Nevada physicians, physician assistants, nurses and office staff are not only skilled and knowledgeable, they are also understanding and supportive. We work with you and each other to keep you informed about health issues, provide appropriate care and respond to your needs.
Sierra Nevada Ear, Nose & Throat was founded in 1995 by Dr. Paul Manoukian to provide clinical and surgical care of the ear, nose and throat. Today, we continue to be a physician-owned practice guided by our team of skilled and compassionate doctors, not a hospital or corporation. A native of Carson City, Manoukian returned to the Silver State to open a patient-centered ENT practice after completing his medical training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.It was at Johns Hopkins that Manoukian met a like-minded physician, and his soon-to-be partner, Dr. Brian Romaneschi, a fellow Johns Hopkins resident.
ENT doctors are physicians trained to treat patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat. They offer treatment options that include medical and surgical management of head and neck problems. ENT specialists differ from other physicians in that they are trained in medicine and surgery.
You might say Dr. Paul Manoukian started on the path to medicine as a young boy exploring biological diversity in the rivers and streams of northern Nevada. That interest was sparked in the high school anatomy and physiology classes he found fascinating. That spark gathered heat watching his brother recover from a serious injury under the care of a talented surgeon. That heat became a flame fanned by a college chemistry professor who stressed the importance of humanism and compassion in the practice of medicine.

This review is not for the doctors, but office staff! I was on hold for over 5 minutes and when receptionist was very short. I asked for my last ENT appt notes be sent to my provider who sent me to ENT. She said "we have 30 days to send ENT provider notes & our medical records clerk was out." I asked if she could help and she said no!

Want a great caring doctor who takes time with each patient and who is skilled in ear, nose, and throat issues? Look no further, this doctor is the best in the area and worth the drive no matter where you live. After a very bad experience with an ENT doctor in South Reno, I ended up here and so happy I found this doctor. He really listens to what I have to say and explains things every time.
So happy I found him. I was going to a doctor in So. Reno who was rude and not helpful. A doctor who had no idea what was going on with me so I make a change. Dr Manoukian referred me to a specialist in Sacramento for an ear problem I was having. He told me he was sending me to a top notch doctor and he was right. I had surgery and my hearing was restored.
I am forever thankful that he sent me to a great specialist. I really like that Dr. Manoukian lets you take part in decisions about your health issues. He gives you options and gives you time to make the right decision for you. This is the only kind of doctor that I want. Life is all about being informed and making the right choices and all doctors should listen when their patients have concerns or questions.
I feel that Dr. Manoukian is the best doctor in this field in all of Northern Nevada. Give their office an call and don't get discouraged if their is a wait to get in. The best doctors usually have a wait because they have a long list of patients who trust them. I am one of those patients.

Dr Manoukian is my hero! I was having a rather mysterious and extremely painful problem that was elusive and Dr Manoukian was perplexed. He researched my problem and in no time diagnosed me with a very rare syndrome that less than 4% of the population have ever had Confirmed by CT Scan and other tests Now I am awaiting a surgical time at UC Davis to have the surgery My condition is so obscure and rare that very few surgeons perform this surgery Thank God Dr Manoukian was able to correctly diagnose my problem and is assisting in getting the surgery scheduled If not for Dr Manoukian and an associate Dr Steve Dryden I could be at great risk of stroke or worse Dr Manoukian is without a doubt the best of the best!

I have never given a review in the medical field. Typically doctor appointments are standard and uninspiring visits. I have to say I am beyond impressed with Dr. Manoukian. I have never been to a doctor who is so thorough in his examination. It wasn't about rushing through the appointment due to the back to back appointments doctor offices usually have.
Mind you one of his doctors was out on a family emergency and he was balancing quite a bit. But never made me feel leads important. He made every effort to make you feel at ease. I will quote him."you will not leave here today without answers and a treatment plan". Who says that. Typically you get 10 minutes and many other appointments until something is found. Nope I hade time to spare and he spent 3 hours with me.
He knew exactly how determined I was since I have been dealing with these issues for several months. Dr. Manoukian took his time to figure out a course of action not only because it's his job but he truly cares and will spend the time necessary with you. EVERY doctor should have the same dedication to their patients. It's stressful enough going to the doctors but knowing that he is my ENT doctor puts me at ease. Thank you!

Dr. Manoukian has been my ENT provider for several years. I have had horrible recurring sinus headaches and sinus pressure for much of my adult years. Antibiotics would partially treat the problem when I had flare ups but the pressure would never go away completely. I didn't like using antibiotics frequently. Dr Manoukian suggested a procedure to expand my sinus passages.
I was reluctant but after another year and a half of sinus pain, I agreed to have the procedure. The procedure was life changing for me! I cannot believe how incredible it feels to not have constant sinus pain. Dr Manoukian and his staff were awesome throughout the entire process. They did everything possible to keep me comfortable throughout the roughly 2-hour procedure. If I could give more than five stars to Dr Manoukian and his staff I would. Thank you Sierra Nevada ENT!

Dr. Manoukian performed my sinus surgery yesterday and I am so pleased with my result. He is a wonderful and very skilled doctor. My condition was very serious and due to his incredible talent and skill, I am on the road to a full recovery. I did not experience pain and on day two, I already can tell how much better I am. Dr. Manoukian explained every detail of the procedure ahead of time and made me feel at ease. I cannot imagine a better doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Paul Manoukisn to anyone who needs care for their ear, nose or throat.

This is a GREAT doctor! He's was actively interested in my description of my symptoms during the consultation, and made the laryngoscopy (which I was VERY nervous about) an easy and comfortable procedure. He then outlined a clear treatment plan which was easy to follow and reassured me that if my problem hadn't improved dramatically by the follow up we'd continue to look for solutions.
He also provided handouts on how to use decongestants and nasal sprays which were helpful to refer to later. I was 80% better by the follow up appointment a month later and he was genuinely pleased at my progress. He's extremely professional and displays a very high level of care and concern for his patients, while also being personable. We're very lucky that he has chosen to come to Fallon several times a month, but I'd also drive to Reno anytime to work with this Physician.
