I saw Dr. Scupmia a few times. She has the emotional range of a stone. She wants to book 2 more appointments and sell you supplements at 3x the cost. Scumpia was reluctant to talk things out and condescending to boot. She may be the skilled in thyroid treatment but it's no excuse for treating her patients so poorly. Both Scumpia and her staff are HORRID.

I don't like to leave 1 star reviews but after several visits of this office I will need to. People working here are rude (Dr Scumpia was not rude just to patients but also to her staff, yelling in front of patients). The wait to see a doctor or nurse practicioner is always way too long. Knowledge, experience and preparation also poor. Doctor asked me today after over 2 years coming to this office and 2 bone density tests- "is this your first bone density test"? Seriously?

You are my doctor, you are supposed to know, to prepare to be able to compare my result to previous one. Their printer was not working so they were not able to print my bone density test (while walking out I saw they are using other printer so obviously if they wanted to print they would have done it). I asked to email me report so I don't need to come back just for that- they refused. Also, there are not any uploaded documents in my portal.

They constantly reschedule online calls without any notice or explanation given. You rarely get to see the doctor as she is usually too busy, so it is always a nurse practioner. After several occasions like this, I decided to change doctor. Good luck with this attitude and way how you treat your patients.

I think if I had an opportunity to do things over, I would. I was referred to her by my OB/GYN after ruling out PCOS or anything other. I went. First time was great, the testing was a bit over the top and in some parts unnecessary and I had actually timed it. I was in that room with her for no more than 5 minutes. Just in, got talked at, out and done and off to labs.

Second appointment, I admit I was running a bit behind. But I was driving up from San Antonio area as she was said to be the best in the state. I made it there about 10 or so minutes before my appointment started and I go see the nutritionist who had tried to sell me 2 diet plans not backed up by medical information. One for $200/mo and one for $400/mo.

I couldn't afford to pay for that. I finally met with Dr. Scumpia for my second visit and I was ridiculed for driving up from San Antonio and told I should find someone closer to me. I'm sorry, but that isn't what you should be telling someone who drove an hour and a half to come see you for subpar bedside manner. I refuse to see how people can sit here and readily defend this woman. She's an excellent doctor, yes, but she's a horrible person too.

Do NOT make an appointment here. You will not ever be done with them. They won't give you even 1 minute of simple information over the phone without booking yet another appointment. I have known medical assistants who left this business and said themselves it was absolutely ridiculous how money hungry the doctor was. You may not have anything wrong with you and they will still find a reason for you to come back. It Never ends. I was once a patient here and am so glad I left.

Please read. I only leave the occasional review to help warn others. I had a bad experience and I suggest going elsewhere so you don't. My first visit was very informative and overall great. However, during my second visit my doctor was referencing symptoms of another patient that I never mentioned nor experienced. Additionally, it was obvious she didn't not review my profile as one of the supplements my primary care doctor recommended directly affected my blood work.

She rambled, rather aggressively, about the results until I reminded her of my medications. Finally, she was really hard to talk to during my second visit, very directive and discrediting my concerns. Overall, not a great experience. I left with none of my symptoms addressed. Not even over the counter suggestions or lifestyle changes. I'm very frustrated I wasted my time hoping to get some answers. I will not be going back.

Terrible bedside manner. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I saw her for over 2 years to which she was never able to regulate my thyroid. She refused to listen to me and what dosage I know works for me as I have been dealing with my disorder over 35 years. ALSO if you are a new patient she has you do a whole load of unnecessary tests, assuming so she can make more money. Wish I never stepped foot into her office. A Complete waist of EVERYTHING, Including $$ DO NOT RECOMMEND.

If you value your time, I would strongly discourage you from ever stepping foot into this office. I have only been here a couple times, but I am never going to go back to this place again. My first appointment was not too horrible, except for the three and a half hours I felt like a complete hostage in the office. Instead of checking to see if I could do whatever test Dr. Scumpia wanted, I was dragged from room to room and from test to test until I was finally set free.

Today I had my second appointment, and I arrived on time, was called back in 5 minutes, and placed in a room waiting for Dr. Scumpia to go over my labs and tests. I waited over 35 minutes for Dr. Scumpia to come into the room, and she spent less than 5 minutes talking to me before telling me I needed to talk to a health coach. I was assured that the health coach would be able to talk to me in 10-15 minutes, and after waiting over 20 minutes, I left the room and checked out.

This clinic and Dr. Scumpia care little about their patient's time, and it clearly shows. I am already searching for a new doctor who values my time, because I am not willing to lose my job over a doctor's lack of time management.

I like Dr. Scumpia for the same reason a lot of people seem to dislike her. I like gruff and straightforward with no sugarcoating. I'm not paying a specialist to tiptoe around my feelings, I am paying a specialist because my thyroid disease was so bad I had barely been able to get out of bed for months and didn't know why. She is blunt, efficient, and no-nonsense.

Someone said in another review "she has the emotional range of a stone" or something similar. I'm sorry, do you want to get your body working or do you want her to talk about your feelings with a sock puppet? If that bothers you, go somewhere else. If your emotional strength is more resilient than crepe paper, then she and her staff are best in class.

I have tiny veins and blood draws can be an ordeal, but the lab techs here always astound me. The staff is sweet and organized. I can't even express how much the quality of my life has improved since receiving treatment here.

The nurses were sweet, but Dr. Scumpia was very rude and dismissive. She did not explain anything well, and got frustrated when I asked her to explain my lab results in depth. She was eager to get me in and out of the office after I waited 1.5 hours to see her. I would never recommend her to anyone. Do not waste your time. I wish I looked at more reviews before I made my appointment.

I wish I had read these reviews before my appointments. Be prepared to pay when you go. My first visit was $224 just to walk in the door (I have good insurance). Most offices I've been to tell you ahead of time what will be done and how much my expected piece is after insurance. Dr. Scumpia might be a good physician, but she has the bedside manner of a badger. If you like to pay and like very direct one-sided discussions with few terse words, then this is your place.
