The mission of UPMC Somerset is to deliver personalized health care that our community will value and trust, now and into the future. Our vision is to redefine health care in our community by connecting individuals with the medical expertise they need and the compassion they deserve. Compassion: We deliver compassionate care that our community will recommend to friends and family.
For over 95 years, UPMC Somerset has been meeting the healthcare needs of Somerset and its surrounding communities. It is very important to us to continue this tradition. From our highly trained physicians to our friendly, compassionate staff, we will do everything in our power to make sure you receive the quality healthcare that you deserve.
Trying to estimate your out-of-pocket costs prior to receiving care can be challenging. For nearly all patients, standard charges have little impact on out-of-pocket costs. Typically, patient costs are driven by their specific insurance plan design - with remaining deductible and coinsurance limits being the biggest factors in determining costs.
Your physician is responsible for giving permission for your discharge. Therefore, it will be necessary for you to have clothing and arrangements made for transportation on the day of discharge. Please plan to check out by 4:00 p.m. A nurse will inform you or your party if your attention is needed to complete any forms, however, most paper work is completed upon admission.

Had a terrific experience in the same day surgery unit. Our kiddo had a procedure requiring anesthesia; that is always worrisome for any parent. We were greeted warmly by staff from the moment we entered. The nursing staff (Erin/Cara), the anesthesia staff and surgical team made him feel comfortable - and us! It was just a very good, successful, hospital visit worth writing about. Before bed my little boy said, "this was a really great day." Unusual when you spent the day in the hospital! (Also, my avocado toast from the Cafe was super yummy!)

Sept 7, 2021 I had a heart attack. From the time the ambulance took me to ER until I had 2 stints in was less than 2 hours. The whole process from the ER and Cath. lab and all the staff that took care of me for 3 days was excellent. I couldn't ask for better treatment. I didn't choose to have a heart attack, but I did choose UPMC Somerset.

Recently as I was bike packing the GAP Trail I had an allergic reaction in the middle of the night that was initially quite serious and was taken to Somerset's ER by ambulance. I can't say enough about the professionalism and care demonstrated by the doctor and the nurses, as well as the two fine EMTs in the ambulance. I was well-cared for and am impressed by the efficiency and concern shown at the ER.

Would give a zero but can't they blatantly disregard the patient when they tell them what's going on and never listen to them I will not be back to this hospital bc I don't wanna be not listened to and feel like I'm wasting my time and not be listened to

Front desk lady very extremely rude. Did not care about anyone. She got mad for multiple reasons that were out of my control. She was very rude to me and my family. One of the nurses were also extremely rude. A few of the nurses were very helpful. But those two women made the stay very bad. Extremely rude and uncaring.

After reading some of the less than nice comments, I felt I had to share. I came to the ER today around 8am with such abdominal pain it was scary. I should mention I am over 600 miles away from home.the staff here has been nothing short of amazing, from the time I walked in the door until the time I left! I'm sorry others have had a poor experience, but I would absolutely recommend UPMC Somerset! Coming from a big city hospital where you are treated like cattle sometimes, this has been great!

I normally do not write reviews but I feel compelled to do this (second time as the 1st got deleted by mistake) I just came home from Somerset Hospital a colonoscopy procedure and I for the bulk of my life, I don't do medical doctor stuff. (1952) Contrary to my misbeliefs and many experiences of others in the area I want to say this was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life.

I have never had a "Doctor', now I have Dr John Nicholson, DO Family Practice so please understand what is motivating me to write this review. It is to help others who may be in that same indecisive moment. I have a manager that if not for the moment of his procedure, they found and removed cancer and if not discovered right then, he would not be here today.

Thank you for your coaxing to me Jason or I would have avoided this yet again. My procedure was preformed by Dr Mohammad Javad Saadat, MD and when I awoke, I had felt just wonderful and I asked him if I could give him a hug and he replied "I never pass up a hug" and we hugged. This is how the World is supposed to be. His operating room staff and my anesthesiologist were so kind, connecting and caring, like Family taking care of me.

I thank GOD. I invited them to come by my home for a swim "mi casa es su case" (formal) make yourself at home; literally "my house is your house" They said to do it again in 10 years and I will without hesitation at this hospital. I hope this helps you decide to make Somerset Hospital your medical home away from home. Just wonderful! Thank you all

Was just there this past weekend to have a baby. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable during my stay. The nursing staff was very understanding and helpful. This would be my second c section, my first here and the experience was much better. The incesion was closed perfectly and is healing already. Kudos

I went to the ER with pain in my back and abdomen. It took a few minutes to register and then I was shown to a bed. Within two hours I had seen Dr. Smith, had a CT scan and x-ray, and diagnosed with a 3mm kidney stone. The professionalism of the staff was beyond belief. They were courteous, kind, and caring. The speed at which I obtained relief was top notch.

I was released within three hours with enough medications to suffice until I got home (3 hours away) and contacted my urologist. My many thanks to the staff for taking me in like family and sending me on my way.

I was there a few months ago, i had suicidal thoughts so i was sent to the 4th floor at the hospital. And i must say it was a horrible experience and didnt help what so ever. It's a shame that people have to deal with mental illness then you get stuck in a place like that for days, being fed the same medicine as everyone else, as if everyone was the same, with nurses who were nice, yes, but you can tell that they really did not care about their patients, just there for the paycheck.

The dr said how he would get the same patients 20+ times, yeah because obviously you can't do your job. I cant see how the inpatient hospitalization there helps anyone who is suicidal. You just feel trapped and just lay in a bed all day with absolutely nothing to do. The nurses would have activities written on the board to help but they would never do them.

Then the nurses would just hide in there little office the whole time, not acknowledging anyone. I was the youngest patient there at the time, with others as old as 98. And they got treated like trash, as if a 98 year old can help some of the things they do. Such a shame and such a sad experience. Very dissappointed
