Since its inception in 1986, the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center has been providing its patients with the best possible care of sports, spine, orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions. The PMR Center is a diagnostic and treatment facility, with an emphasis on non-operative treatment including physical therapy, occupational therapy, patient education, and body mechanics.

While the majority of conditions are responsive to non-operative therapy, our physicians will readily refer to and work closely with any other specialists or surgeons our patients may require.
Services
Physical therapists create individual treatment plans to match each patient's goals, helping each patient to improve their fitness and function, avoid surgery, and reduce the use of opioids and other drugs. Pain-free movement is crucial to your quality of life, your ability to earn a living, and your independence.
The PM&R physicians work at ten Sub Acute Rehabilitation Centers across the tri-state area. Our physicians work with each resident to develop a personalized treatment plan that will restore, maintain, and promote function, strength, endurance, balance, and mobility, while preventing or limiting the permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries. Each physician is available at all times to monitor treatments and help with pain management.
Your first visit to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you. During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know our staff.
Dr. Rebecca Brown received her Medical degree from SUNY Downstate Campus in Brooklyn, and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Brown works in our practice at the Riverdale, Fort lee, and west New York offices while also providing rehabilitation care in the Jewish Home Lifecare's Manhattan Campus.

Monika and her amazing support staff worked with me twice a week for about two months. The quality of service, expertise and kindness was beyond my expectations. My appointments were always on schedule. I felt that I was in excellent care throughout my rehabilitation. Also, the facility is clean and they use state of the art equipment.

I saw Monika for OT for a few months after surgery for a fractured wrist. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and thoughtful. She was also very encouraging when I got frustrated. She and her intern even made a special splint to help my wrist extension. The office staff was very efficient.

Madeleine was my third of three physical therapists I tried after my hip replacement. She was incredible. Extremely knowledgeable. She pushed me but never too hard. I hiked in the Grand Canyon recently, and I know it has a lot to do with her. So grateful.

Came here for therapy after a knee injury and have to say I could not be happier with the treatment I received from the doctors and assistants. The front desk staff is also super friendly and were willing to help me out with some insurance questions I had. Would definitely recommend if you need any kind of physical therapy.

I wasn't able to walk w/o pain in my left thigh & the physical therapist, Madeline, diagnosed that it was tension of my IT band & my pelvis was locked. She worked hard to get my pelvis to move normally & treat my ITB. Everyone in this office were really knowledgeable, cheerful, friendly & helpful. The facility is very clean, everything is sanitized between patients and there's parking.

Monika has been my OT and is an absolute wonder. She is caring and patient. Because of her, I am on the road to recovery! Harold is always there to be my cheerleader to achieve higher goals. The front office staff has always been helpful and courteous with my questions and setting up my crazy schedule. I have absolutely recommended PMR to others. The parking lot is an added perk.

I've been a client at PMR for the past four months. My occupational therapist is MONIKA. My surgeon and I think that she is wonderful. I feel that my recovery was hastened by my visits to PMR. There were lots of helpful activities to aid me, and I was always seen on time. Thanks!

I have been to other physical therapy sites, including Burke rehabilitation. PMR is far superior to them all. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My therapist, Madeleine is very knowledgeable and caring. The gym staff is wonderful. They make sure you're doing the exercises correctly. I feel that for the first time ever, my problems have been solved.

Staff is always helpful and understanding if your a little late. The front desk staff is truly amazing when it comes to rescheduling. I'm always greeted with a smile by techs setting up equipment and in gym. PT Madilyn and Bryan are truly amazing great personalities and really care about helping patients. Madilyn cut her lunch break short one afternoon when i had an emergency. If that's not above and beyond i don't know what is i really feel I'm getting the treatment and help i need to get better from the Physical Medicine and Rehab office.
