Dr prokuski medical assistant is by far the rudest medical "professional" I've ever delt with. Did everything she could to push me off to ER or a different surgical center. I got a surgery done a week ago by dr prokuski. I had 2 screws put in and am bedridden for 6 weeks. Called to try and schedule an appointment and get my medication refilled and her only concern was why someone gave me one of the medications that I had and that she would not refill it.

Didn't schedule me an appointment, didn't ask how she could help. Very rude and unprofessional. When you are in the line of work of helping people, actually be there to help them otherwise find a different line of work.

I'm a physical therapist and my patient has been getting very poor treatment with rude staff. I tried to call and get updated orders, spoke with 2 different people and both were obnoxious. I would recommend avoiding this place, there are some great orthopedic doctors here in Tucson but I would not go here. Dr Wild at Tucson Orthopedic Institute is highly recommended. This review is specific to the Tucson location but the work culture starts at the top and I'd avoid all of them if it were me.

Beware. Now being injured and having limited income. They have the nerve to take $50 from you to fill out disability forms. Very unhappy. I feel that it is taking advantage of people at their most vulnerable. I could see a little charge. That seems very high. I appreciate my surgeons. I have no problem there but. I'm just not happy with that policy.

Absolute WORST bedside manner. Husband has been in the hosptial since Tuesday (it's now Friday) and has only been seen once! He was supposed to be discharged today. I took time off work to go get him (we live 60 miles from the hospital) and here it is 7:00 pm and no discharge orders yet. When you call their answering service you are told the nurse needs to call! WTH! I guess the only way they can get patients is because it's Trauma and there is no choice!

Dr Miller is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country. He is intelligent, efficient, has a sense of humor and is empathetic. He tends to be a little clinical with his patients, but his skill level is exceptional. One of his greatest attributes is that despite his exceptional skill, he is still humble. The staff is equally good, and always pleasant, and obviously love their boss. A Great place I would recommend to anyone who needs a top notch orthopedic surgeon.

Survivor of a head on crash by a wrong way driver on I-8 Freeway On April 24, 2019 I was airlifted to Abrazo West Campus Hospital after being hit head on by a wrong way driver on the I-8 Freeway outside Dateline, Arizona. I was travelling west on the westbound side when suddenly a wrong way driver heading East hit me head on at 85 MPH. I was given Ketamine at the scene and was unaware of everything for about 2 days.

I had some initial surgeries and then some more surgeries were performed on April 29, 2019. I had approximately 37 fractures. I was travelling to California from Florida when I was hit. I was treated by multiple Doctors at Abrazo West Trauma Center. After spending about one month uin the Hospital I was transferred to an acute rehab facility with multiple plates and screws inserted in both hips, right knee, right foot and ankle, chest.

I was also recovering from 3 fractured disks and collapsed lungs as well as an internal bleed. I spent over a month at Acute rehab before I was transferred to a skilled nursing facility. I spent about another month here before being transferred to an assisted care facility since I did not live in Phoenix. Ambetter, my insurance company agreed to pay for all services as an emergency trauma situation and issued payments, to the Trauma Hospital, Trauma Doctors, Air Ambulance and Rehab facilities.

To this date I have not been able to walk, work or be free of the excruciating pain caused by this accident. This accident has disrupted my entire life. All I wish is to get back to a normal daily routine. Many wonderful people, family and friends have helped me along the way. They have taken time out of their lives to fly to Arizona to be with me on this difficult journey.

I assumed that all would be covered by Ambetter insurance of Florida as they told me that all payments were made. Currently the most aggressive of all providers has been Sonoran Orthopedics and Air Method Ambulance. Both were paid a fair amount according to my insurance company under the Emergency Rates provided in Trauma situations. While I was unconscious, I now find that the inability to make a decision during this traumatic experience is affecting me in ways I never imagined.

If I had a choice I would never have let either one of these providers be part of my care team. I would have requested in network providers if I knew what difficulties I was going to face with these two providers specifically. Sonoran has decided they were out of network even though Dr. Billhymer was the on call emergency trauma orthopedic surgeon at the time of the accident.

They are currently billing me for approximately an addl $32,000, above and beyond approx. $6,000 in payments already made by Ambetter insurance. They are the only medical provider who has decided they want more and are aggressively pursuing me for the additional amounts. They performed an additional surgery on May 23, within the 90 day umbrella to complete the right ankle and foot surgery they had started but not completed.

The original surgery left my foot and ankle horribly swollen with a stabilizing rod emerging from the bottom of my foot. I was informed by both Sonoran and Ambetter that they were finalizing the single payer agreement for this addl surgery and that it was going to be in place by the time my surgery happened. On February 3, 2020 I received a bill for another approximately $26,000 for the May 23, 2019 surgery.

My wife has been a patient of Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons for over 5 years. She has had 3 major surgeries. 2 where on her femur with great success and the last was a total knee replacement, which she is currently recovering from. The care and concern given to my wife has been wonderful. The doctors staff are remarkable. As a caregiver, I certainly recommend this clinic.
