Dr. David M. Whiteman is a double board-certified cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon who has served the Atlanta community for 30 years and counting. Dr. Whiteman specializes in performing a large variety of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures for the face, body, and breasts. He currently serves as Gwinnett Medical Center's Chief of Plastic Surgery and the Chief of Surgical Services at Gwinnett Medical Center - Duluth.

I am so happy with my decision to choose Dr. Whiteman. The woman at the front desk who's name I forgot was so helpful in scheduling the appointments over the phone and finding me a time that works. Jackie explained the costs and general timeline perfectly and was so friendly. Dr. Whiteman took the time to answer all of my questions and was very reassuring because I was very nervous.
He helped me to choose the procedure that was perfect for me as an individual and told me the risks and benefits for each option. I could not be any happier with my results and the happiness and confidence I feel after having my procedure was worth every penny.

I had gastric sleeve weight loss surgery 5 years ago, lost 100 pounds, and made the decision to have the extra skin from the large weight loss removed. I did tons of research and settled on 3 surgeons to do consultations with. The first one was a definite no, the second one was a flashy over confident individual that I decided against before I had even left the consultation.
Then I met Dr Whiteman and immediately knew that he would be my selection for this long awaited surgery. Fast forward to the surgery, he performed a lower body lift and breast lift during the procedure. It has been 3 months since my surgery and I love the new body that he has created for me! The whole process from start to finish has been wonderful with Dr Whiteman as well as his whole staff. Dr Whiteman's communication is stellar and he is very quick to answer any concern or question that I had during my recovery. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I had a breast augmentation that went wrong when I was 23 years old. It was my 4th surgery to correct a complications in the right breast. My implant wound up being exposed and had to be removed. I was left with a completely deformed chest and told I could never withstand another surgery. I have searched about every 5 years and have been turned away by at least 10 to 15 different plastic surgeons.
I had completely given up. Fast forward 20 years later I was going to Dr. Whiteman for a tummy tuck procedure not my breast. At the last minute in my pre op appointment I took my bra off to show him my breast so he wouldn't be surprised. He took one look and said I'm fixing these! I cannot tell anyone in words the new lease on life that I have. My breast are BEAUTIFUL and look NORMAL!

Would 100 percent recommend Dr Whiteman and his practice for any of your plastic surgery needs. He is an amazing Dr with exceptional bedside manner. As someone who works in the medical field, it was important for me to find someone that took time to listen to my concerns and needs. He far exceeded my expectations. I healed beautifully from surgery and I credit a lot of that to Dr. Whiteman and is skills.
So many things I was worried about going wrong, he assured me they would not. His staff is also very friendly and helpful which is hard to come by these days. You can truly tell they all love their job and making clients feel their best. You won't regret choosing him :

After consulting with a few other doctors, I met Dr. Whiteman and immediately knew that he was the surgeon for my breast augmentation. His bedside manor is amazing, and makes you feel extremely comfortable the second he walks in the room. He took the time to answer all of my questions, and I never felt rushed. On top of that, his work is outstanding.
At the initial consultation he measurements and recommended a size and type of implant, based on those measurements and my goals. Surgery and recovery went so smooth! Now, 3 months post-op I couldn't be happier with my results, my scars look amazing- and the size he recommended was exactly what I wanted! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Whiteman and his team at Southern Plastic Surgery! From the first consultation through all my follow-ups, they have treated me so great and made me feel super comfortable throughout my process! Dr. Whiteman is so knowledgeable about all the latest techniques to make your surgery a breeze and give you AMAZING results.

David Whiteman is a surgical god. At my initial consultation, we sat down and talked about my goals. He really listened to what I was saying, then he took some measurements, and we formulated a plan that was right for me. At this visit, I was most impressed with his level of professionalism. His office staff was bright, friendly, and unpretentious.
You see, I had already had a consult with another Atlanta surgeon, and I had even scheduled surgery with her. During the time between that pre-op and surgery day, I had two friends tell me that they were not happy with their experiences with her. Even though she refused to refund my deposit, I cancelled, and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Whiteman's consultation was on another level completely - he and Beth (MA) were much more thorough, taking measurements, etc, which is something that the other surgeon never did.
Until I met Dr. Whiteman, I was in the dark about what a real surgery consultation was supposed to be like. He thoroughly explained risks/benefits (rather than just having me read them on a tablet), told me what to expect through every phase, and when I left the appointment, I was confident that I had made the right decision in choosing him for my surgery.
The operation went smoothly (at a small hospital with attentive staff), and I received the same level of care at my post-op visits as I did on day one. I knew precisely what to expect as I recovered, so there were never any grey areas of confusion. Now, six weeks later, I am LOVING my results. I feel that I look the way I am "supposed to--" the way I told Dr. Whiteman I wanted to look.

I have been extremely impressed with the quality of care I have received at Southern Plastic Surgery! Dr. Whiteman is a highly skilled surgeon who is also a compassionate and caring person. Dr. Whiteman and his team have been nothing short of amazing. Since the first consultation all the way through surgery and post visits, they have been very kind, knowledgeable, and supportive of all my requests and wants.
