Southwest Family Physicians

I adore Renee and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants detailed care with a touch of love. She is awesome and I would give her 5 stars! However, I have been going to SW Family Physicians for 25 years and have seen them go through so many nurses, phlebotomists, and decks clerks its astounding! I wish that SWFP would identify what seems to be the issue for so much transient activity and fix it. I miss developing a rapport with the nurse and feeling like desk people know who you are when you come in. I use to know them all and they knew me and my family members.

I love my Dr. I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else ever again. She is the first to take the time with me, to listen to me, to help me feel like I matter and so does what I'm going through. I have a lot of different medical issues and even on my bad days. they are nothing but kind and patient here. There are also many services available in house that many other offices do not have.

I can also highly highly recommend their physical therapy and acupuncture services and the amazing people that work there also. I do love this place and I have to drive across Portland to see them! Doesn't compare to the level of care I know I'll receive.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! After my first visit I already feel like I'm in great hands. The quality of compassionate time Dr. Hart spent with me during my initial visit was night and day compared to past primary care I've received. I'm looking forward to having a Doctor who genuinely listens and lays out a clear plan of action for my health. I am relieved to have found Southwest Family Physicians and appreciate their prompt communication and the ease of accessing my care team. Update: I've needed to go to SW Family Physicians for an unexpected illness and follow up care.

I was able to get in for an appointment quickly and the patient portal allowed me to message the care team between visits. Their response time was very quick and the medical assistants have been great at relaying messages to me and getting my questions answered quickly. I have also been going to see Collin for acupuncture at the Physical Therapy building.

He has been an amazing resource for my illness and overall health. He gives great recommendations based on my unique health needs and he is also extremely personable and friendly.

Twice in four years, the doctors at this clinic figured out a diagnosis for me that no one else could figure out. Most recently, Dr. Hart could have easily dismissed my symptoms since they were personal experience rather than anything that showed physically, but she did not. By trusting me at my word and doing due diligence, she was able to figure out what was going on.

The doctors also share your information with each other in the facility (behavioral health, acupuncture, physical therapy etc are all looking at all the notes and blood tests) so you are getting a 360 approach from a whole team. I could not recommend this place more nor be more grateful for the life changing care they have given me!

I would advise anyone considering this clinic to avoid it. I was mostly satisfied with their providers, however I have been trying to get back an overpayment from last April (so 1 year I have been out this money) and they haven't responded. I have called their billing company, Greenway, asked to speak with their in-house billing, and even tried to contact the Office Manager multiple times and no one is able to resolve the issue. Renee Beninger was a pretty good PCP and when I had Shingles, they were able to get me in to see her on the same day.

That was great. Overall the office is fine, receptionists were always kind, and the provider was good. However the fact that I have money they won't return after 6 months and a minimum of 30 calls to resolve, I advise you to avoid the clinic entirely. I've missed work and time with my new baby because I spent hours trying to resolve the billing issues. Don't make the same mistake I did, skip this clinic.

Nancy was amazing! I'm so used to feeling like my PCP isn't really listening to my concerns, but I felt like she was really trying to understand what I needed. I wasn't waiting around for her to show up and I was able to get in and out quickly and efficiently.

I have been going here for 6 years and have never once had a bad experience with any of the staff. Being a medical assistant myself I understand the "other side" that patients complain about. I understand it's a bigger picture that the patient assumes, especially when it comes to billing issues. Or issues with a receptionist. You get what you give and I always walk in with the up most respect for every employee there and I receive the same back!

I love my Doctor Hugh Gupay and his team. He is very attentive, I feel like he didn't brush of any of my concerns and I never left a visit unsatisfied. He is funny and intelligent, don't find a mix like that very often.

Dr. Hart took my call late on a Friday night, & came in on a Saturday and saved me a trip to Urgent Care. I've seen many practitioners at the clinic over the years, but I can really tell that they care about me; I'm not just a number or an insurance card to them. Thank you SWFP

Dr. Hart was absolutely wonderful. My teenaged daughter had her first appointments, as needed new PCP due to insurance change. Dr. Hart was thorough, listened to all her needs, and her issues were addressed and is being worked on. I am very happy that my daughter has found a wonderful PCP to transfer care to.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hart for a few years and decided to follow her when she went to SW Family Physicians. Our whole family loves Dr. Hart, she seems to be a great fit for us. She listens to our families ideals and tries to work with those. If there is something she feels one of us needs she doesn't push but makes sure we are very well informed to make the best possible choices.

Her new MA at Sw is very friendly and seems to get stuff down quickly. 5 stars for Dr. Hart and her MA. Huge Con: The negative I have for SW Family is the receptionist. I was also a patient of SW Family a few years back, left after issues with receptionist and scheduling errors. I was surprised that the same issues we experienced previously are still taking place and haven't been resolved.

I wish I could rate them separately. I would only give them a one star. Which is why i I put a three. I feel that the receptionist are really causing issues. They are rude and can't seem to agree on policies that are in place at SW Family. They have put appointment times in wrong and/or told me the incorrect time, numerous times. I'm one of those people that actively put appointments in my calendar as I am making the appointment.

I tried to make an appointment for my husband and was told one thing, husband called himself and was told something completely different. He has decided to find a different doctor's office completely due to the receptionist and the experiences I've had since being back. Time will tell if I decided to leave and find a new doctor if the front desk issues aren't resolved. I really don't want to leave a good doctor and be forced to find a new one.

Very attentive. I drive from downtown Portland to come here for the hospitality. Dr. Alston and his assistant, Justin are patient, caring and kind. Yes, I would recommend their expertise.

This was my first visit with Dr. Gapay. He is a very kind person and took a great interest in me. I felt very comfortable talking with him and he was very encouraging. All this over a video visit.can only imagine how great he is in person. Thank you Dr. Gapay!

I went to a doctor here 3 times in 1 week after becoming a new patient, and I asked on the phone and during my new patient appointment to verify they accepted my insurance and they said yes. A month later I received a huge bill in the mail. I called their billing office and they said they do not accept my insurance plan. So basically they lied to me and charged me for bill I can never afford to pay.

I called them for months and they didn't answer or told me the person I needed to talk to wasn't available and they would call me back. Never got those call backs. Now they sent me to collections. I just scheduled a different appointment somewhere else and they looked me up by my insurance ID and knew exactly what my plan was and that they do accept my insurance. Southwest Family Physicians are liars and robbers.

The front desk staff and their billing phone number (that has east coast hours even though this building is on the west coast) are rude and not helpful whatsoever. They also charged me for a mental health eval but I received nothing of the sort. The doctor may have said "Hi how are you?" and I responded, "A bit stressed, but good!" and they charged me $50 for that. Absolute B.S. DO NOT GO HERE.

I recently had an appointment and annual doctor visits always fill me with anxiety due to past experiences. I am so grateful for the experience I had with the nurse and Molly, who took great care of me and listened to my needs. I have never had this experience before at a doctor's, and I feel so fortunate to have found them. Thank you so much for making my visit comfortable and a breeze.

Molly is the best! I always feel at ease during our appointments, and appreciate her holistic approach to health and wellness and how well she communicates treatment and options. Wouldn't recommend anyone else!

HORRIBLE PLACE! I have severe anxiety when it comes to going to the drs/dentist and normally put it off until I absolutely have to go. Well, I have been a patient here for 7 years and I originally saw Dr. Gulick. she was great but was hard to get an appt with cause she was so booked out. So when I called and was told Dr Gulick couldn't see me, but. Molly Stratton could.

I said okay because I needed to be seen. I eventually just started seeing Molly when I went in cause she seemed okay, I was wrong. The past couple of months I have been trying to get my health in order because it has gotten so bad and I have been wanting to have regular visit to discuss my health concerns and find a.

I randomly searched for someone to help me get through a chest cold that I couldn't shake a few months ago. They through all their resources at me. They took my insurance, they didn't leave a leaf unturned. While there I noticed the signs and advertising they had for the medical weightloss program, acupuncture, hypnosis. I'd been curious about. all of those things but who has time to drive all over town to visit dozens of different doctors or to coordinate care, records, medications.

This place literally does it all. This solves all your problems, removes all your barriers, and all your excuses. I'm down 10lbs, and have been educated against all the misinformation about food, nutrition, and the relationship between my health and food. I've never been more comfortable with my diet in my life. and it's all thanks to this team. I FULLY recommend them!
