Services
SpineOne has a very simple mission: help patients live pain free. We accomplish this mission by providing comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment plans that give you relief with as little physical and emotional pain as possible. And we do it all under one roof, which means no waiting for referrals, no travelling to a different location for imaging, and no delays for available treatment.
Denver residents are active and vibrant. We live at one mile high and enjoy every bit of beautiful Colorado. Sometimes we enjoy it so much it hurts. Whether your back pain is from a sports injury, a work accident, car accident, or chronic pain, you want to feel better fast so you can do the things you love.
Sciatic nerve impingement is a common culprit for chronic pain. If a disc bulges or ruptures, it can press on your sciatic nerve which may cause pain in your leg or feet, even though the origin of the pain is in your spine. Percutaneous Decompression (also known as Nucleoplasty) is an option for sciatic nerve pain or spinal stenosis is to remove the disc tissue that is pressing on the nerves.
An Epidural Steroid Injection is a procedure SpineOne performs to help relieve inflammation and pain from conditions such as spinal stenosis and disc herniation. The procedure delivers corticosteroid and an anesthetic numbing agent directly into the epidural space between the bone and protective sac of the spinal nerves.

Spine one has some of the nicest medical people I've been around. From the receptionist to all my doctors. The thing I like most is they never give up. I stated seeing Dr. Bradley Hakim after I still had severe pain after spinal fission surgery He tried everything he could think to do with little success. Finally we did the stimulator trial Bingo my pain for the most part has disappeared After the surgery I was in severe pain and Dr. Hakim and Woodrow made sure to give me the proper medication. God bless spine one. If you are in pain I definitely recommend seeing these people. You can't fix everyone but the people at Spine One never stop trying

First off, I want to thank the lady at the front desk, she is so wonderful to everyone she greets. It is always a pleasure to see her. I wanted to leave a review last time I brought my mom although I changed my mind because I knew it wasn't going to be the last time I brought her in. The nurses here all bundle up in a little crowed and talk about you while starring, as if they were still in high school.

Nurse Elle, was not only rude/ugly once but twice. I would say racist to be exact. Neither did my mom or I witness her being such way with anyone else. You would think the nurses would treat someone's mom how they would want theirs to be treated.

So far so good with Dr Gessman and SpineOne. I have had back issues for a decade now and never made any headway in terms of trying to get to the cause of the problem. I have only had one appointment so far, but they were on time, pleasant, and dr Gessman was fantastic. Took his time with me, was not rushed, and seems like he and his team will be a great group to finally get me on the road to recovery. I called my insurance beforehand to see what is covered and what is not, like I would with any specialist.

From start to finish my experience at the Surgery Center was superb! The consultation was very thorough and informative. Dr. Gessman was very patient with me, as I asked all of the questions that I was concerned about. In dealing with a major sciatica issue for over eight months, and exhausting all the possibilities of physical therapy, homeopathic treatment, and chiropractic appointments, (which only band-aided the inevitable), I finally decided to do a spinal injection.

Once completed, I walked out of the facility with little or no pain. For eight months, nerve damage was a huge part of my life, and greatly got in the way of normal activities. And I was fascinated to have a spinal ejection performed that only took 15/20 minutes, and I was back to normal! Of course, the relief from pain varies depending on the patient, but I feel like pain-free longevity is in my future. Thanks to Dr. Gessman and his wonderful staff for their ultimate care. I'm back in business!

I was extremely happy with my experience at SpineOne today! I've been struggling for quite some time to get an appointment for x-rays and an MRI at other imaging centers/practices, and SpineOne was able to fit me in the same day that I called (and with almost no wait time once I arrived). Every staff member I interacted with was helpful and so friendly, from receptionists to imaging techs and everyone in between. Dr. Gessman was especially wonderful -- professional, thorough, knowledgable and caring.

He made time to see me before and after my diagnostics and explained my diagnosis and prognosis in terms that were easy to understand. I would highly recommend him and this practice.

Overall a busy place, but they have been consistently trying their best to give you the care that is needed. I've had a few let downs here and there, but the staff was tentative to apologize and fixed the issues. From going to the surgery center multiple times for different surgeries. I can tell they care about you as a patient. Might just need to slow it down on getting the patient discharged.

As I said though they are very busy, walking thru things slower would make it more personal. Due to the fact the patient is putting their body and care in your hands (literally). I really enjoy the staff and the doctor. Dr. Khan is amazing he will answer any questions, overall very knowledgeable.

We've been nothing but disappointed with Spine One. Our 20 year old son had a severe concussion and whiplash in 2021 and they just want to do surgery after surgery. They continue to send endless, new bills and it's been nearly a year since any sort of treatment was provided.

Ummm.they try hard I guess? Left me in the exam room for 20 minutes after meeting with a PA. So I just walked out. It's a system.everyone gets an epidural then they push their quasi physical therapy operation. After observing PT on several visits because you'll have to sit there waiting again, for a "Chatty Cathy" to get off the phone (had a scheduling line of 4 patients deep) and schedule you for any recommended follow up, you'll quickly identify the "gimmick." Dr. Khan and staff were reasonably fine but for true relief in the long term it might be more effective to visit with an orthopedic to layout a more aggressive and viable treatment plan.

Update: The Director of Nursing called and she promised that there is going to be a review of the occurrences and an action plan put in place. I have been a patient of SpineOne since 2021. I love how everything is in one spot and you can get x-rays with results on the same day. The office staff is extremely friendly and caring as is the nursing staff in the surgical center.

I have found that the surgeon and the anesthesiologist can come across as less friendly and just there to do a job and get out. Professional but not personable. Overall, I believe the treatments have helped my pain. Unfortunately, I have started to notice mistakes that make me concerned. The first instance occurred in 2021 when I was having a back procedure.

The anesthesiologist came by the do the consent and he was confused about which body part was involved. Thankful, this problem was corrected before any harm was done. I do appreciate that he always asks if there is anything he could have done better during my last procedure. The latest issue was on my most current visits in April of 2022. I witnessed some very concerning HIPPA violations.

One of which was when I was actually handed another patient's medical face sheet complete with name, address, medical history, and medication list. That same day I also noticed my paperwork was incorrect and had the wrong procedure on the consent form.

I could post a lengthy story about this practice but look at all the other ones star reviews, all the stories are the same. Mine is no different. They are predatory. They are scammers. They will say you are in network but then you'll get bills and when you call they will say you are out of network. PLEASE do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else! I really liked the Cherry Creek UC health spine Center.

Don't go here. I needed a simple steroid shot in my back, but they want you to have 3 appts and prefer to sedate you (to make as much $ possible is what I am thinking). 1) It took the nurse 3x to get an IV in me and I have "good" veins. 2) In the surgery room with my rear end exposed to 5 people, I was really nervous getting my first shot. A male nurse with a gnarley long beard was cracking jokes about how they can't listen to gangsta rap music since I wasn't being sedated. I'm all for jokes, but that's extremely unprofessional.

What do they do when people are sedated? Joke time and being disrespectful? 3) I called the Dr. Khan a few days later because I was crying in pain. Never got a callback. When I cancelled the follow up appt two weeks later, the secretary said they didn't call back because were closed for a week. Why put the doctor's phone number on the paperwork to call if they don't call you back?

How was I supposed to know the entire office was closed for a week? And if that's the reason why the doctor never called me back, why didn't he call past week since this was two weeks after I called. They're a rip-off. Felt like I was at a used car dealership at my first appt. I don't make bad reviews often, but feel like people need to be warned.

I ended up to going to Aurora medical Center, Dr. Preece, for my second shot and the process was SO EASY and comforting. They don't push sedation at all & we're EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL!

The staff is very nice. I was definitely pushed multiple times to do injections that never worked. I also ALWAYS asked what each procedure would cost before having them and now 5 months later I am getting billed three times what I was told. They said that it was just an estimate. THREE TIMES MORE? Pretty shady if you ask me. Definitely go with caution.

I would like to tell you about the wonderful experience I had yesterday at SpineOne where I underwent an epidural injection to relieve pain in my spine. At this point I cannot tell you if the injection was actually effective (it takes up to a few weeks to get the full effect, I am told), but today I can just tell you what happened at the clinic yesterday.

We had an appointment for 7:30 am, and after filling out forms I was ushered into the surgical center (it's very nice and quite large). I found the entire staff extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I have to mention the nurse Elle who took care of me in the most pleasant way, as well as the anesthesiologist Sandy, who spend time with me and was most reassuring.

Finally I want to sing the praises of Dr. Gessman, who actually performed the medical procedure. He has a lovely bedside manner, explained what he was about to do, and also talked about other options I would have if the injection to be done would not be effective. I had one injection in each of two different hospitals the last two years, and neither of them had any effect.

At that time I wasn't offered any kind of anesthesia, but when SpineOne offered to put me under very light anesthesia, I went for it, and I am happy I did! I had a laminectomy 9 months ago, which also had no effect on my back pain. So I am hoping that after the laminectomy Dr. Gessman's injection(s) will reduce the pain caused by the remaining foraminal stenosis.

Why is there not a no star option? I truly believe this is a scam. I went in to have a steroid injection in my lumbar area under the assumption that I was having one spot addressed but was then billed for 4 injection spots totaling over 16,000. I called to find out costs out of pocket if not billed to insurance and they stated 1766.00 to include 135.00 for anesthesia. Yet, after I paid over a thousand out of pocket(this is the amount they initially told me I would be charged out of pocket) they billed my insurance company as well.

I was also told that anesthesia would cost more so I declined, I was billed for anesthesia, then when asked why, it was removed, then told by someone else that everybody is charged for anesthesia when or not they take it just to have someone in the room. Next, when I was laying on the operating table to receive my shot, Dr. Khan hit something in my back like a nerve that sent an electrical shot through my whole body sending me straight up off the table involuntarily.

I said, "what the hell was that?" and received no explanation. The reviews tell all. I know you may be desperate but this place is not where to seek assistance. They will tell you what you want to hear to get you scheduled and then make up whatever amount they want to charge afterward. I will not trust my body with these people again.

Too bad I didn't check the reviews here before booking an appt. They make you come in 30 minutes prior to your actual appointment but they are running late and you're not seen at your scheduled time. I'm sorry, is my time not as important as yours? 20 minutes past my appt time and still waiting to be seen plus the 30 minute early arrival. Horrible experience already.

I saw Dr. Hakim and his staff for a herniated disc. They were all very caring and did their best to make me comfortable. Everything went smoothly with scheduling, MRI, follow ups, and epidural injection. It was nice having everything in one location. They took my insurance and i haven't had any problems with the billing department.

They will try to ruin your life. The medical service was fine. They will lie to you on how much things will cost. Told at my first consultation that my procedures would be covered at no out of pocket cost which really means They try to screw over insurance companies and you end up on the hook for what the insurance won't cover. 16 months after two injections in my back and thousand days of dollars later. I get ADDitional bills totaling $32K. Please listen to me and avoid at all costs. Do not make the same mistake I did. SpineOne will change your life.for the poorer.

Not good. All this medical center practices are procedures, procedures, procedures and physical therapy. I was receiving epidurals and facet joint injections every other week throughout my spinal column. The same medication was used 'dexamethasone' among some others for each procedure and due to the makeup of this medication it is not very soluble and it on the needles way in or out leaked the med & it caused muscle & fat atrophy (a known occurrence) and left me with a large fist sized dent in my lower back.

I told the Dr about this while I was in pre-op for another procedure in the same location & I told him it was because of the dexamethasone and would he please use something else & he said he'd never seen it happen before & didn't answer my question. And then the other problem is they give the same medication for anesthesia & my body built a tolerance to it, my last procedure it didn't work at all on me so I was completely wide awake while they did it.

The anesthesiologist said after that he gave me enough of it to put 3 300 lb men out. I'm normal weight and female it was so scary and the pain so agonizing as they did the procedure. I asked to review my imaging which looks like imaging from someone that is 3x my age my back is so bad & has so many issues that the Dr that reviewed my imaging with me to begin with said that with even just some of the issues I have she could see why I have chronic pain and now because of covid19, being unemployed & being on Medicaid i can't find a pm dr because they're all at quota for Medicaid patients and going back here even if they were good or actually cared wouldn't be an option as myself and household are high risk for covid so I couldn't do procedures.

I have only had two appointments here. They were helpful and friendly. I saw a PA and she was a very compassionate listener! But in the follow up, I was told there was a disc tear and injections were suggested in that area. Yet, after the appt, I read the Radiology report from the place I got the MRI and it said the damage was described elsewhere.

I didn't proceed with the injections. Wasn't sure who was right, especially since a large portion of my pain is also above those areas! And the injections just seemed like a routine or cookie cutter treatment for everyone who comes through. I wanted an alternative therapy to try before anything invasive. The whole thing made me feel uneasy. Thankfully, she was open to helping me try PT and Ultrasound when I asked.

Regarding billing I was told when I made the appt that even though my insurance was out of network, they would charge me in network. When I got there, I confirmed it again at the front desk. Unfortunately I was billed out of network. When I called billing they said they didn't know anything about that. I had to call the office manager to straighten it out. For my second appt, the same thing happened.

2 minutes ago I went to this location and paid with credit card day of my appointment. I was even given a invoice that said "paid in full". This office is still billing me monthly even though I have (1) Provided the invoice (2) Called and talked to supervisor's. (3) Sent a copy of my credit card statement showing the charges. I had no problem paying for the service and I DID pay! But even though the billing department knows they messed up and they have proof that I paid I have continued to receive statements.

Went in for Steroid Injections for my lower back pain and was very impressed by the great service from beginning to end. Dr Kahn came in and explained the procedure beforehand and went smooth from then on. I would highly recommend this place!

12/10/19 They are too busy to actually care for anyone any more. My first injection should have been an indicator for me. The pre-op nurse sets my IV like she's shooting pool and gave me a huge bruise that hurt worse that any IV I've had. They didn't know who was next for the procedure so they almost skipped me, the doctor had to come out to tell them I was next because they were about to grab the wrong person.

I came back for a second round of shots and same hulk like IV, same forgotten order of patients this time without the doctor being there to get it right, I would have gotten in 2 hours after my appointment but I decided I wasn't going to wait. If you're in excruciating pain and have no other options, this is your place.

Today I had some facet injection at Spine One for my chronic pain. I did do it without sedation and Dr. Kahn and his staff made the procedure as comfortable as possible. They are very kind and accommodating and I actually felt immediate relief. I've had many injections before from other places that didn't work, but these professionals know their stuff! They care as well. Thank you again Spone One!

Lumbar shots on 2/9/18. Run away it is a SCAM! This place is poorly managed and they will screw you on the billing. When checking in I clearly asked the receptionist if they were in network for Cigna. She blatantly lied to me and now I have a $1500 bill to pay. After several calls to try and resolve the issue I have come to understand that this is just their deceptive business practice and they are good at the scam.

This was my 5th set of shots over many years at different facilities and by far my worst experience. I have had better service and professionalism at the VA hospital which is a pretty low bar. There are lots of options for these types of service. If your primary doctor tries to send you to Spine One, REFUSE!

Having been in health care for over 20 years, I must say this place is absolutely one of the worst. It is a "physiatry mill". There is only thing that they care about, money. The physician Dr. Khan should not be practicing medicine. He lacks the decency and the bedside manner to admit things went wrong. Avoid at all costs, there better and much more ethical places in this town. Disgusted at their actions!

My experience: I'm 38, have had off and on lower back pain for many years and wanted to see a doctor instead of going back to a Chiro. Was in bad pain so found SpineOne after a quick google search. They get you in the same day, but gave me some confusing info on how my insurance would work being out of network. Something about "matching" charges.

I got an X-RAY and talked to the physician assistant for about 15 minutes. Didn't learn much, just got some pain pills and a book about self-treatment. I refused an MRI after not seeing the reason for it. Injections seemed unnecessary to me as well. They did end up matching my out-of-network cost, total bill came to $170. Not bad, felt I got what I paid for.

Back pain is terrible to live with. By the way, the book SpineOne gave me is great, "Treat your Own Back" by Robin McKenzie. Self healing is surprisingly effective! Am really thankful they gave me that book.
