She received her medical degree 1986 and completed residency training 1990, at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she was Chief Resident. Additionally she completed graduate studies in the Department of Exercise Physiology & Kinesiology at the University of Texas prior to medical school.

Please understand that we deal with a wide variety of acute and chronic pain conditions, of different degrees of severity, that need to be triaged differently. That takes nothing away from our attention to your problem.
If you had surgery for this or a similar problem, complete the following for each operation. If you have had therapy / chiro in the past, please indicate where, when and how long you attended. The term electrodiagnostic (EDX) refers to evaluation of the bioelectric activity of muscles and nerves. The test is done for the purpose of evaluating weakness, numbness, pain and symptoms such as fatigue, cramps and abnormal sensation. The two main procedures used to study nerves and muscles are the needle electromyography (EMG) examination and nerve conduction studies (NCS).
The cause of a great deal of musculoskeletal pain is related to laxity or relaxation of the connective tissues that control joint movement and provides support for joints. These connective tissues are frequently damaged by trauma or repetitive stresses. The initial healing response may not adequately "knit" the structures back together.
The major components of fitness are: strength, power, aerobic endurance and anaerobic endurance and flexibility. However, flexibility is probably the most "under trained" and most forgotten part of fitness. As we age, the elastic part of our connective tissue (the framework of our muscles, tendons and ligaments) has less rebound capability.
