Stayed there for rehab after a serious illness. Not a luxury facility, but clean and well-run. Staff and residents tested for COVID every week and PPE is used consistently. Rooms are cleaned daily. Meals are served in resident rooms during the pandemic. Nurses and staff are friendly, but lots of temps/floaters are used on the weekends and holidays.
Physical and occupational therapy are provided by a mainly younger staff and scheduling can be a bit ad hoc. But I entered the facility unable to walk or even go to the bathroom on my own and by the time I was discharged after 4 weeks, I could do both. I was also able to transition to a regular diet during my stay. Therapists come to your room for sessions during the pandemic.
There is a rotating menu offered to residents, with some alternate entrees offered. The food is above average for institutional fare and the portions are adequate. Long-term residents may become a bit tired of the food after a time, but I thought it was just fine. Set-up of the meal trays can be a bit inconsistent, but if any condiments or meal items are missed, the aides are more than happy to assist. All in all, I am able to give FutureCare Cherrywood a very positive review.
