Standard Optical is truly unique among Utah vision centers. The strategy Standard Optical has embarked on is the first of its kind in the U.S., which involves taking a kindergarten-to-cataracts comprehensive eye care approach. This includes medical services, ocular health services, surgeries and surgical facilities - combined with insurance provider approval for vision plans as well as major medical plans. Standard Optical can put your individual, customized prescription lens into nearly any frame for ideal performance sunglasses.

What a joke One in on the 7th to order my glasses I was told they would be done in 2 weeks now it is the 27th of the month no glasses no glasses and they're saying they're not gonna be done until the 4th of next month maybe longer longer I need my glasses for my job I'm required to have a DOT physical physical and I can't get it without my new glasses so now I'm out of work and I don't know when I can work again

They get you in and out quickly. Barely any waiting and the girls in there are very nice and helped me pick out some new frames and helped with all of the warranty and price. They were great!

The doctor was so knowledgeable and helpful. He discovered my prescription from another place was off. He offered me better contact lenses and worked with me to see clearly up close which my last eye place didn't do. Great experience.

I don't remember the last time I was treated this badly at any business. The manager was curt and sarcastic. On my way out, I had a food emergency at my car. Sushi flew everywhere, and I was trying to get it all out of the car in a pile before taking it to the garbage. The manager came out--at first I thought to help out, as I was dripping with food. Nope--she was there to tell me what an awful person I was for making such a scene in front of her store. I literally couldn't believe it. I will never shop here again, and neither will anyone I know.

This location is superb! Very clean office and very professional staff. The staff was so helpful with getting us in for the appointment. They called our insurance and helped us complete the appointment and costs. 5 stars for this location and the staff. Not so much for the one doctor. It is great to know that others and their children had awesome visits with Dr. Lynn Stromness.

Maybe he had a bad day when we went. I don't know but his visit with my son was not great. Very annoying and rude if I must say. I let my kid know that this is the world we live in. Not everyone will be nice. Just be respectful and kind. Do not hesitate to book an appointment here though. You might get a better experience than we did!

Hey super cool people, the eye doctor was a funny casual easy going guy. The staff in the front room are fantastic, easy going, fun youthful and brutally honest about how thr glasses look. You want this. If a pair looks bad they'll tell you. Plus they're younger and will be fun. Good time. Will go again next year

I got an eye exam last Saturday and wasn't notified that all sales were final until after my card was already charged, and not because I was told, but because I was handed a "copy of my contract". I felt sick to my stomach. I checked reviews on Sunday because it didn't sit right with me, and saw how often prescriptions were difficult to get or not handed over without a consumer purchasing glasses and then I saw all the "red flags".

This violates laws enforced by the FTC that allow consumers to shop around for frames after an eye exam. I called as soon as I could today (Monday) a mere 2 days later and they said that some blarney story about how the lab will have already received my "custom" materials when most companies over the weekend will not have received those things that quickly. Not to mention all the product shortages that have occurred due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. It honestly didn't sit right with me. I'm filing a report to the FTC.

I debated on writing a review, as I prefer to only do positive reviews. However, I feel if I could help anyone avoid what I have had to deal with, I need to. The Customer Service is great. However, my prescription was off. I contacted them and it took awhile for them to respond. No apology given, just a here is your old prescription. Not only that but I was recommended to try this "new" moisture contact that have been incredibly hard to get out. Unfortunately, due to the fact to save money I ordered elsewhere, I feel I have just flushed 3 months of my money down the drain, on a 3 month supply. Also, since my visit I have found out of two other adults who have also been given wrong prescriptions at this location. If good Customer Service is all you want this is a good place, but if you want an accurate prescription I do not recommend this location.

I was picking up my first pair of glasses ever. When the worker at the store found out that it was my first pair of glasses she got really excited and said, "Well, then we need to do this right." She cleaned the lenses and had me sit in a chair by a mirror. We had fun having me put on my glasses for the first time. She also gave me tips on how to get used to them. She definitely enjoys her job and made everything an enjoyable experience:

Had a standard exam for my 11 year old for a prescription update and possibly contacts. Dr. Stromness did well with her, answered all of our questions. The two women at the desk were also wonderful and very patient. Even went above and beyond to get our insurance to authorize something we needed. Store was clean and we saw them wiping things down in between patients.

Doctor and staff are awesome. I literally tried on ever pair of glasses they had and the staff wasn't bothered one bit in fact they started helping me and grabbing more pairs for me to try on. I had a great experience! Excited for my glasses and I scheduled my kids to go next week. Thanks girls and Doc.

Save your money and go somewhere else. The Doctor if great but the rest of the staff are not. I had them run my insurance and even with that my bill was over $600 for two pairs of glasses (one of them sunglasses). The selection of sunglasses was so poor that i ended up getting regular frames and having them tint the lenses. Even though I like the doctor i will have to go somewhere else.

I have been trying to order glasses for my 85 year old father. He is unable to go into their store to have his eyes checked but does have a current prescription on file. He fell and broke his glasses and we cannot get a price from them so that we can pay for new glasses. The glasses have to be paid for in order for them to order them. There has been absolutely no one in the store when I have been in there to get this resolved but they claim to be so busy that they haven't been able to get this taken care of. Also, they said that it can take up to 3 weeks from the date we pay for the glasses before the shop receives them. All other Standard Optical Stores are quoting 2 weeks tops. It seems the workers here need some very basic customer service training!

Great shop. Never much of a wait. They always are willing to provide great service after I have picked up my glasses by adjusting and occasionally repairing after something dumb occurs.

Dr was good but its staff Are dumber then Rocks and think they are on drugs, I have never had this many issues ordering contact, I would recommend choosing another place. Once I called and spoke to some girl who said you are not our patient and there is no order for you but yet they had already sent a bill to my insurance, today I was literally on the phone for 20 minutes and was put on hold 3 times to find out what my total was, never coming back here.

While I like the doctor here (Dr. Marty), this place is in need of some work. It is dingy, outdated, the cabinets are falling apart, and the counter tops are chipped. They could use a good deep cleaning and better lighting. The location is convenient and the staff are nice.
