WHAT A NIGHTMARE. While they are great at what they do. TIME MANAGEMENT is nothing over here. This office is soooooooooooooooooooooo slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. It would be a courtesy for the receptionist to inform you if the doctor is behind. Especially 30 minutes. The last two appts were at 11:15 AM. We did not get out of the office before 12:50 PM.

You spend an entire day in this office. Would be nice to have an afternoon before I have to report to work. I understand that there are more than one doctor-but why do people come in after you and are seen and gone long before you are ever through with your steps?

Aubri at the Arden Asheville Eye Associates went to great links to find me just the right frames. I gave her an idea of what I was looking for and she searched to fine the perfect frames, emailed the pictures to me and then order the frames to try on. I couldn't be more pleased! Thanks again Aubri

My son has fragile x and autism. I called before the appt to let them know and also arrived a few mins early. No one spoke to me about anything. It was 30 mins past his appt time and he was very anxious and i asked when he would be seen. Apparently no one let them know he was here. After They finally took him back a bunch of girls stood and gossiped. We sat again in the room after his melt down for another 40 mins without anyone telling us anything. I am not happy with this experience and my son is very upset.

People are kind but the system is not efficient AT ALL. It's a dumpster fire of a mess. I waited over an hour to pick up glasses that were already paid for and a prescription that I've had for 15 years. Waited in line to check in for my exam for too long. If you work a full time job maybe just take the day off to come here or find somewhere else. It's unfortunate because the doctor was great, totally not worth it though.

They lied to me from the beginning. I called my eye insurance and they said that Asheville Eye Associates takes my insurance. I called Asheville Eye Associates and ask them if they take my eye insurance. They say yes. I also ask if they charge extra for contact fittings. They say no; contact fittings are included in the price of the eye exam. When I go in they take my insurance card.

Four months after my appointment I get a HUGE bill. When I call them about it they say that they don't take my insurance! Also, included in the bill is an extra charge for the contact fitting. What a scam!

Worst experience ever I brought my son in for an exam on his eye. we waited 2 hours just to get eyes dilated than made us go back out to car with no glasses for him out in the sun. Than waited another 1 an a half for him to get seen by doctor for them to do nothing for him. If i where you I wouldn't go worst eye care place ever!

I tried ordering online my glasses from another company, the first time they came in they were messed up! It took weeks to get a new pair! I couldnt see the whole time I waited for them! When I purchased my glasses at Asheville Eye - and then broke them -they fixed them the very moment I walked in! I was very impressed with the 4-5 times I have been in their store (Hendersonville and Arden NC) and would HIGHLY recommend them and their service!

Zero tact or bedside manner. Staff carry a condescending attitude towards parents who are trying to figure out what questions need to be asked. We gave them three visits and came away with a worse and worse impression each time. Highly consider other offices in the area before this. Would go Zero stars if that were an option.

The doctor was fabulous. However, I was told by the staff when I made my appointment that with insurance I would only pay a deposit for the glasses until received. After taking the time to select my glasses I was told that I had to pay everything up front per the insurance company. (This was not true as I called the insurance company later to question this policy.) I had the funds but needed to contact my bank to transfer them.

The associate was to call me at an agreed upon time to collect the payment and never did. Four days later I called back and was told someone would call me back. I only got a return cal because I told them I was cancelling my order. I went to another company locally and got the same glasses for almost $100 less. Just proceed with caution when utilizing the glasses provider services. Again, doctor was awesome!

Not a good experience. I was given inappropriate medical advice, sent out with dilated pupils without sunglasses, deposited In optical waiting area while my eyes were dilated without instructions on what to do next, my glasses have a flaw and I can't wear them and my bill was incorrect. Overall, Asheville eye associates has not lived up to it's excellent reputation.

It's a shame. I went back with my unwearable glasses and met with a technician. The advice was to wear them for a week even though I can't see it. I tried but unable. The only positive aspect to this is that the doctor wants an appt w me and that was scheduled soon.

After having used the Optical Shop four times for new glasses, this time they made the new frames with the wrong prescription. When I told the oculist that I could not read even the largest print because of the visual distortions the glasses were causing, she ridiculously stated, "Well, theyre new prescriptions so you have to get used to them". I responded that the optimitrist would never give me a prescription that made my vision worse.

The oculist said, "Well, do you have cataracts? That can cause distortion." And so it went until I again asked her to check the lens. She returned after about 10 minutes and said, ",W ell, you're right. They put in the wrong prescription." Why, I wonder is their quality control so bad at Asheville Eye Associates Optical Shop? And, why doesn't the Oculist listen to the customer? Now, another three weeks to get the correct new glasses (if any staff bothers to check them before calling me). In the future, I'll go elsewhere for prescription frames and lens.

My son has gone here for complex eye problems for several years and time management with these people is nonexistent. It is consistently 3+ hours spent in the office just for an exam. If you have all day to sit around waiting then this is the place for you!

Would never even walk into this office again if it were my only option because of the lack in urgency, front staff, and phone answering staff. My son who has complex eye conditions has been seeing Dr. Wiggins since he was two. We've been patching and getting glasses since with no improvement or even suggestions on different solutions and we are now coming up on the cut off to make the decision to have surgery done. Dr. Wiggins is a good doctor but we feel as if more could've been done if we were given more time and attention at our appointments with him.

It was always a churn and burn atmosphere in the office because of the amount of patients and the appointments always took three hours, with you seeing the doctor for roughly twenty minutes of that, and just waiting the rest. The front staff is a complete nightmare. Rude. Snarky. I called LAST Tuesday and asked to have my son's glasses prescription mailed to me.

Still not having received it in the mail, called today to see what the hold up is, got a super delightful woman on the phone who couldn't figure out why, asked my son's information so she could mail it again, and when I asked how long it would take to get to me, seeing as I literally live in the same town, she replies "how am I supposed to know that?

Where do you even live?" -Well, I don't know, you're looking at my son's information. How about look at his address? I've only been waiting 9 days for a piece of paper someone apparently forgot to put in the mail that was very important regarding my 8 year old son's health! Who talks to a patient like that? A patient who is trying to get information on their child?!

I tried asking for her name, and she was smart enough not to give it to me, but just goes to show, their staff lacks compassion and understanding for anyone going through a difficult or stressful time. Their schedulers/answering staff are incompetent, cold, and quite literally, aren't fit to even answer a phone. My husband and I decided to call it quits with Asheville Eye and are now traveling 2 hours and 15 minutes to Charlotte to see a highly recommended eye doctor that specializes in the conditions our son has to make sure we are treated with urgency, compassion, professionalism, and respect.

If you're referred here like we were, ask for a different referral. If you're looking on you're own for good eye care, word of advice. take your business elsewhere! This place is a NIGHTMARE.

I would recommend Asheville Eye Associates 5/5 for eye exams and definitely for any serious eye conditions/trauma. I would recommend their glasses department 1/5. Spare yourself a month+ long wait and just take your prescription to Lens Crafters who can have a pair of glasses made for you within hours. I ordered a spare pair of glasses from Zenni's for $27, that arrived weeks before my AEA pair were even ready for pickup.

Skin cancer can be scary - especially when it's on the eyelid. With two basal cells and most of my bottom lid involved, I certainly appreciated the expertise and experience of Dr. Goldstein, an ocular surgeon at Eye Associates. As extensive as the surgery was, the healing process has been remarkably smooth and pain free. I appreciated the promptness at the office appointments but I really appreciated not having to wait for the surgery.

They took me right in as soon as I arrived. Super nice and professional surgical staff and Dr. Goldstein called that night to follow up - which is always nice. Heading back for round two in a few weeks to remove the other cell and I wouldn't do that if I didn't have full confidence.

I was scheduled to have cataract surgery but Doctor Haynes my physician or his staff did not communicate to his scheduling personnel crucial information regarding my conditions necessary for proper measurements of my corneas before surgery. It took me two days and several attempts by phone to speak to someone to correct the situation. Always I had to wait long periods of time on hold and then to speak to someone who was not able to give me satisfactory answers to my questions. Finally I cancelled my surgery because I lost faith in my doctor, his staff and the facility as a whole.
