I had a procedure on November 12, 2021 scheduled for 11:00 AM. I was told to be there half hour early which I was. I had to wait five hours for my procedure with no explanation as to why. If not for the prep involved for this procedure I would've left and rescheduled unfortunately that was not possible. The nurses and the doctors and the place were wonderful but I find a truly unacceptable to wait that long when you have a scheduled appointment

Organization at this place is mildly speaking idiotic. They ask you to call from the car as part of the COVID protocol and then tell you to come in only to keep you for the whole hour in a crowded waiting room. How about scheduling the patients such that there is no backlog, instead?

I was sent to this place with my son to do a covid test prior to surgery. When I arrived I called and spoke with Theresa, who has to be the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in a health care setting. When we arrived there was another elderly lady seeking help for the same pre surgery COVID test (however a different doctor's office).

While I tried to help the elderly lady, I was on the phone with Theresa (the surgery centers protocol is to call when you arrive), who told me that they no longer do COVID testing at the site. I explained to her that I was sent there by the doctors office as was the elderly lady. She said basically I should take it up with my doctors office. I explained to her that it could not be an error on the side of my physician since there is another patient here with the same instructions from another office, she did not care.

I asked her if she could come outside an look at the documents that we had, she said no. The elderly lady then decided that she would go back to her doctors office for help. I asked to speak with an manager Jennifer, who echoed what Theresa stated. She said they stopped doing test there and it was not her problem that I was misinformed and that I needed to get it done if I wanted my son to have surgery there.

I explained that took a day off of work AND drove one and a half hours to get there. She said I should find a local CVS and pretty much figure it out on my own. It was the most condescending conversation that I have ever had as a family member of a patient. If I could rate them 0 I would, not based only on my personal experience but on how the elderly woman was treated with NO regard.

As a patient you are nervous enough coming in for any kind of procedure. To deal with rude, presumptuous people at the front desk, who neglected to mention parts of the "requirements" prior to your arrival then berate you for not following them, is unacceptable. Not a good start. Would not recommend. Update: nurses and staff in the back were much nicer and accommodating/attentive. If you can put up with the front desk nonsense it's worth staying

I had surgery at this facility yesterday. Everyone was very pleasant, and friendly; very professional. When I asked for another warm blanket, there was no hesitation, no attitude. When I awaken from surgery, everyone was very attentive. Basically everyone is treated like a VIP. THE VERY BEST. Thank you all May God bless you and keep you all safe.

It's unfortunate that so many people rated this place badly - I had an amazing experience here. It was my first time ever getting a procedure done, so I was terrified! The nurses were so kind, especially Regina, who even held my hand while my IV was being inserted. She told me that she's the same way with needles and it's over before you know it. The anesthesiologist was very kind and answered all of my questions and kept a lighthearted conversation going while I was getting prepped so I wouldn't get more nervous. Dr. Irakam did my procedure and is my usual gastroenterologist.

I've never had a negative experience with him, not even this one which I was so terribly afraid of! The nurses brought me two warm blankets to make sure I'd be comfortable during everything, and constantly assured me that I'd be alright. Thank you surgicare for your kindness and your patience! Your staff is fantastic.

Worst experience with Dr. Irakam, Dr. Isedior Lee (Anesthesia) and their whole BILLING team. I had proactively been reaching out to them to pay my bills but even after paying the balance in full they sent me a delinquency notice. Their billing department completely screwed this up and I now have to deal with credit bureaus in fixing my credit report. I would NEVER recommend this place for anyone. Their care after surgery was very poor. They are more interested in making money and less on patient care.

I would have to agree with some of the other posts regarding the billing department and the lack of timely responses and professionalism regarding billing matters and insurance conflicts. The procedure that I had there earlier this year went smoothly and the medical/nursing staff were quite friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, they only handle the medical matters and not matters regarding check-in, insurance disputes, coding and billing (which is done offsite) which is in complete disarray.

Phone calls from administrators are NEVER returned, simple requests are NEVER followed up and there appears to be much confusion at the front desk as to who the appropriate party would be in order to get resolution of payment issues. I suppose the only way to avoid these issues would be to not have insurance at all and just show up to the procedure with a bag full of cash. At least it would save months of headaches and aggravation in trying to resolve financial matters.

Can I give less than one star? I was required to pay $1,100 on the day of my procedure. I get the insurance company on the phone with them who tell them that they never should have charged me. Now when I inquire about my refund, they tell me that they "filed" the refund 4 weeks afterward and NOW I have to wait another 3 - 4 weeks to get my check. I would definitely NOT recommend this facility - their billing process is a joke.

The conversation included a lot of "yeah, but unfortunately." They suggested I keep calling back to find out what the status is. Apparently they don't understand the concept of customer service.
