Since 1987 we have been rendering high quality cost-effective medical care to our community. Long before the urgent care center explosion, The Doctor Is In offered a broad scope of services, extended hours, on-site lab and X-ray, and no appointment necessary. What distinguishes us from other walk-in centers is that we are not just urgent care. We can be your Primary Care Provider (PCP).

Our Board Certified Physicians and Certified Physician Assistants provide primary care to patients of all ages, participate in many insurance plans, schedule appointments at our patients' convenience and manage chronic conditions as a Patient Centered Medical Home.
Services
Since opening our first office in 1987, the commitment of The Doctor Is In has remained the same: providing the most convenient and cost effective quality medical care possible. Founded by Randy Klein, MD, Medical Director and practicing physician at The Doctor Is In, the Clinton office has been serving the community for over 30 years.
A Physician Assistant (PA) is a medical professional who works as part of a team with a doctor. A PA is a graduate of an accredited PA medical program who is nationally certified and state-licensed to practice medicine with the supervision of a physician. Following their rigorous education, PAs are required to take 100 hours of continuing medical education classes every two years and complete a recertification examination every six years.
The Doctor Is In has been providing quality, compassionate family medical care for over 25 years. We are committed to helping our patients achieve health and wellness with a focus on preventative care and chronic disease management. Many managed care health insurance plans require the selection of a PCP.
The Doctor Is In has achieved the highest level of recognition by the NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). This model of care uses a team-based approach that encourages an on-going personal relationship between a patient, clinician and the patient's care team.

Called Clinton to ask for an appointment, they were booked but said this branch could take me in. Receptionist stated I would need to fill out forms prior to being seen and they would text them to me now. I drove out to this branch and had not gotten the text so went inside to see if there was a paper version I could do while waiting. My exact first words were: "Hi, my appointment isn't for another hour but I didn't get the paperwork text-" The receptionist interrupted and asked if the other branch had made the appointment, and after learning that was the case, made quite the show of her annoyance then asked me to sit.

She closes her glass window and then begins to complain insanely loud to her coworker. She calls me back and by then I was so uncomfortable and freaked out by this behavior I walked out. Her reaction was more like I had walked into her home uninvited and asked to borrow her toothbrush. Stay away

I went to the Flemington location. The receptionist is not friendly. She asked why I was there, I told her I had a lump on my neck from a tick bite and poison ivy. She told me it can only be one or the other, I can't be seen for both. She took my information and then told me to fill out the registration on my phone. As I am filling it out she opens the window to tell me there are 3 other patients waiting and that I should leave and go to the Clinton location.

It was only 4:30, they closed at 8:00. There was no one in the waiting area. She made me feel like I was not welcome there. I would not recommend or go there again if I can help it. I left and went to Hunterdon Urgent Care on Church Street. They were fabulous, I was greeted by a friendly staff, the nurse practitioner was great! The wait was not bad at all. Save your time and get treated better somewhere else

I've personally seen these people refuse service to a person bleeding from his head because he didn't have insurance and then after the injured man left I heard staff joke about how "we aren't an emergency room" just terrible! And to top it off God forbid if you forget your mask! These animals will not see you unless you pay these goons $3.50 for a "Official" DRs IN cloth mask that protects you from absolutely nothing but surely provides them free publicity though. I'm telling you, these people should be ashamed of themselves but you and I know they're not.

Staff were very pleasant and doctors were great, just had to wait a really long time to be seen for my follow up visit. I guess it's better to make an appointment.

RUN! Do NOT GO HERE! THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR NON- SERVICE These people are absolute crooks. I came in with a sprained ankle and the X-ray machine broke. I sat in the office for an hour, they gave me a bandage & I left. and they charged me. I was just on the phone with two people as they said "well you got a bandage". Had to argue with them to get an itemized bill for the bandage they gave me! DO NOT COME HERE

A wonderful office with wonderful staff! PA Christine Lam is possibly the best health care provider that I have ever had the pleasure to see, and I cannot wait to go to her with all my future medical needs. 5 stars would recommend!

Super fast appointment booking. The staff is excellent. I had 2 medical procedures and needed an antigen test before each surgery. I received the test results in 60 minutes or less. This experience was way better than CVS and Walgreens.

Very organized and scheduled time good during high covid volumes. Waited in our car. Spoke with a doctor before we were allowed to enter. He was very much onboard and sensitive to concerns or sharing. Follow up call for results 2 days for rapid test and 4 days for a pcr test. Great turnaround considering time delays with high volumes.

Quick, easy and friendly experience with the staff. Getting a Covid test is hard right now due to supply demands and it brought us great comfort to have someone who could help us. Thank you to everyone at The Doctor is In for your wonderful services!

Came here for my COVID test. Bad idea. Had to wait half an hour in the parking lot even after scheduling an appointment far in advance. I had to wait on hold for my "necessary meeting" prior to my test. What they don't tell you is that there's a copay-- not cool. Seems like a cashgrab to me. People need COVID tests and to force customers to have a meeting with a doctor just so that the office can make a quick buck is quite immoral in my opinion. It was a 30 second test. There is no excuse that they require so much information from you. Best bet: wait and save your money by going to CVS.

The woman answering the phone is quick and cuts you off. Doesn't wait to hear what you are saying. This was the first time being charged for a test. $25 when everywhere else is free. However they don't tell you that until the VERY end when you are at the last page of registration. They are also the only place who will not email results. The gentleman at the door giving my test was super nice and patient. I got my results in an hour. I called and left a message and my message by him was returned right away.

This place is terrible. I visited because I had gotten hurt at work and wanted to document my injury, they had me waiting over 2hours to be seen. They have no regard for your health/safety. They have you waiting for hours while the doctors and receptionist sit and talk. This place needs to be shit down expeditiously. If you need medical attention DO NOT COME HERE! Place is a joke! SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!

I visited on 6/13/21 and was given a prescription that my insurance refused to cover so I had to pay out of pocket. I called the Clinton office and the doctor had left so she couldn't resolve it. I've since called back twice giving the information to two nurses that the doctor must call my insurance company to resolve so I can be reimbursed. That has not happened. I want this resolved ASAP.

Normally I don't use this walk in care facility because there is a different one closet to my house but it's closed on weekends until further notice. I arrived this Saturday morning in tears from a back spasm that was just gut wrenching. From the super kind receptionist to the nurse to the Dr, everyone was so nice, respectful and professional ~ and I was rolling down the tears Not only was the visit thoroughly done, not only was I given a prescription, but I was given stretches and exercises to help get to the root of the problem which I find refreshing that tome was taken instead of just calling in a Rx and sending me on my way. During this period of uncertainty and Covid, The Doctor is In has made my emotional morning of discomfort into a very positive urgent care visit

PA Sara Cobb is my primary care provider. She is better than any other doctor I ever gone to. She listens to what you have to say, and doesn't mind if you bring up something you read on the internet. I have a lot of complicated issues and she always has time to listen to me and treat the issue properly. She is the best!

This place should be shut down. I arrived at 6:15 and was seen at 8:40. First of all I was seen by a physicians assistant (NOT a doctor) who's probably the same age as me (I'm in my early 20s). She took a couple notes, disappeared for 15 minutes then told me I need to make an appointment for a physical. I called back to ask for a refund, I spoke to woman named Tina, I will follow up on Monday and update this review. Advice for anyone reading this: just go to Hunterdon healthcare. Their hours aren't as convenient but you'll be seen by experienced, qualified doctors.

Paid 400.00 to see a nurse practitioner who basically said take two aspirin and you'll feel better in the morning. Was not the case. Never again, this review is being left after other similar experiences. Icing on the cake this time. Done with this place. There is "No Dr." in "The Dr. is in".

Great experience with Els Sincebaugh for a procedure. She is excellent, takes her time, explains the process and treats you like family. Love the fact I am able to make an appointment on a Sunday. Highly recommend Els & The doctor Is In. The receptionists at Clinton & Flemington are awesome also, when you do schedule for a sick appointment they do their best to see what location can get you in.

Took my daughter in late August for a wound on her knee. After a very long wait we saw a physician assistant who only cleaned the wound, applied antibiotic ointment, and a band aid. We had to then go to the ER for further treatment. Was charged $157 for the cleaning and bandaid and that's after our insurance covered their part. Was 3 months late in paying my bill and was charged an addition $69 in fees and they scheduled a non-jury trial for November. Their billing depart is nothing if not thorough!

This place is an absolute joke. I felt awful and finally decided to go to one of the only practices that is opened on a Sunday. I was told I would be seeing a doctor. Instead, I am seen by a student doctor who clearly had no clue what she was doing. The nurse took my blood and sent it out to the lab. I was supposed to get my blood work results back on Friday.

Come Friday, I call and leave a message requesting a call back with my results. They do not return my call. I call 5 times over the weekend. Again, they do not call me back until Monday evening to tell me my diagnosis. Monday evening while on the phone hearing my results, the nurse tells me my doctor will call in my antibiotics prescription that evening.

I call my pharmacy the next morning, there's no prescription for me. I call back the doctor's office and am told that my prescription cannot be called in until Wednesday now. OK, so this is three days where I am dealing with this illness without the proper medication. I call my pharmacy on Wednesday thinking they definitely called it in this time.

Of course they didn't. I yet again call the doctor's office and am reassured it will be called in by the end of the day. I decide to take one day off from calling so I don't flip out on these people. I call the pharmacy today (Friday) and much to my disbelief, it is STILL not called in. Seriously, it takes about two minutes for a doctor to call in a prescription.

It has been five days now and I have yet to have my prescription called in. This seems to be a trend with this practice. They refuse to give people their test results and call in their prescriptions. Stay away from this place. They are crooks and obviously do not care about their patients.

Things to note if you have an appointment: 1. Any emergency that pops up can affect your appoint if the emergency is not related to you 2. If something is found on a patient seeing the doctor that goes beyond what the doctor and patient originally expected to find, that may impact your non-emergency appointment 3. Parking is tricky 4. Waiting room is so-so, a bit on the dark side.

Bring a Kindle or Ipad as magazine selections limited 5. Staff is fine. They do what they can juggling emergencies, appointments, phone calls etc. 6. Dr. Perez-Steele is my doctor. 5 Stars!

I have been going to this office for a number of years and recently left due to the staff ignoring my requests for test results. I will say that if u have another option for a dr office choose it.unless absolutely necessary due their hours being good. The doctors are great BUT the receptionists and the billing department are absolutely unfriendly and not very interested in being at all professional or courteous.

The receptionists mostly are monotone and unfriendly. There was one girl in particular who I'm not sure works here anymore (Heather Payne?) I was a walk-in about an hour before closing and she proceeded to roll her eyes at me and make faces all while I could see her. she would not give me her name but one of the other staff members wrote it down for me so that I could call management and notify them how I was treated.

It was literally the most ridiculous experience I've ever had at any office of any kind. not sure how this person got hired to be in customer service. The billing department is the worst - they do not remember what they said to you the day before and the notes in their system mysteriously vanish. I have called numerous times about a billing Issue and talked to the same person (patty?) and they can not remember the conversation u already had with them.

After numerous unanswered calls to them I even had one this woman tell me that I can not leave the billing department a voicemail and expect them to contact me back. what? They charge you for sending a billing letter to your house. Never heard of that. Billing department is catty and rude and talks down to you even when u have the simplest question about your bill. they expect you to pay a bill and not question the charges even when they are wrong.

Complete nonsense. Again, the doctors are good the front desk and billing not so much as a speck of friendly and unfortunately that matters in a business that is customer based. You need to pay attention to the people you hire for your front desk and your billing department. A few "secret shopping" calls to your billing department or front desk from whoever manages this place wouldn't hurt either. Especially when presented with an issue from a customer these employees are not good for business.

I went there today and have been going there for many years. I consider them my primary physican group as over the years, while doctors have retired or come and gone, they were always really good, kind, smart doctors and always open on weekends when I had a torn ligament, broken toe, sprained back, concussion, you name it. Too often these sorts of mishaps happen on weekends.

Sometimes a PA saw me and they were always fine. Today I was seen by Sara Cobb, also a PA and she was utterly attentive and knowledgeable. When I need a specialist I will find one elsewhere but for general problems I am safe and assured to have this practice in my neighborhood. No, I am not a shill!

I have been going to the Doctor is in Clinton for over 15 years. Dr. Karen Dittman is the best and my main doctor. She is passionate about her patients and caring and LISTENS TO YOU. I would not go anywhere else and Dr. Karen is the best and the staff is very caring and gets back to you. Dr. Karen should be everybody's doctor as she is the best.

My daughter had scheduled an emergency appointment due to high fever; enlarged glands; and dehydration. She was misdiagnosed and almost hospitalized for the lack of appropiate medical care and diagnosis. When I called to complaint, they had the doctor who missdiagnosed my daughter call me back. After verbalizing my complaint Dr. Strauss, his explanation was that the MEDICAL STUDENT MS PATEL was a 4th year student and should have know what she was doing. Meantime he wrote a prescription on a STUDENT DIAGNOSIS!

I inquired if he bother to assess my daughter's condition. His answer was that she didn't tell him she was that sick. And that he arrived at the room after the student had assessed my daughter. I cannot believe they are allowing a student to be an intern without the appropiate supervision. Aida B
