Thomasville Eye Center is now using the Catalys Precision Laser System to perform many key steps of the procedure that are traditionally performed using handheld instruments. This laser precision enables our surgeons to provide patients a comfortable, gentle and highly customized cataract treatment. Thankfully, there are many treatments for many eye conditions.

Some of our most common treatments are listed below, with more information outlining them. Thomasville Eye Center is the first in North Florida and South Georgia to offer patients customized Laser Cataract Surgery with the Catalys Precision Laser System.

Blepharospasm is a neurological condition characterized by forcible closure of the eyelids. Corneal dystrophy is an inherited eye condition that affects the delicate inner layer of the cornea called the endothelium. Floaters and flashes of light are common eye symptoms that may or may not indicate a serious vision problem.

Blepharoplasty, better known as upper eyelid surgery, is one of the most commonly performed facial plastic procedures. The aging process of the face can make the upper eyelids droop. This creates a tired or aged look. The removal of small amounts of skin from the upper lids can restore a more youthful appearance and refreshed look.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a medical practice. There are so many problems and mistakes and inept people working there it's hard to know where to start. On the phone I told the woman that I was making the appointment specifically for a contact lens prescription. She said that the fee would be $85, but when I checked out it was almost $170 because they "filed under medical".

I had no idea what that meant and no one explained it. The real problem came when they wanted another $110 to "fit" the trial pair of contact lenses they were going to order. I would not pay that and so I left with no contact lens prescription and no contact lenses. I spoke with the practice manager and thought we had worked out the situation. She agreed that I should have only been charged $85 and she waived the "fitting charge".

About two weeks later I got a phone call to come pick up my trial pair of contacts lenses, which I did today. Except. They would not give them to me. Once again they said I needed an appointment with the optometrist and that there would be a fitting fee. Never ever ever have I seen a practice run this poorly. If they'll just give me all of my money back I will never step foot in there again

The newest addition is a retail store within the center to select a new pair of eyeglasses. Happily, I found several quality choices. I usually wait a few years before selecting new frames since I rarely find truly attractive designs. The assistants were very professional, fun and patient. I am excited to pick up my new glasses and think they will give me a new spark of beauty and function. Photos to come!
