I went there as a transfer from another hospital. I was transported by abulance. After testing positive for covid. Just to be dumped in the lobby. While waiting in the lobby. Another patient I.V came loose were he was bleeding. Blood on chair and floor. Nurse comes out whipes it up with a blanket. Not even one person from housekeeping came out to clean.

I get call in the back for blood work and get thrown back in to the nasty dirty lobby to wait up another 2++ hours for results. That is why I left. With having trouble breathing and all. I rather be a home then a disgusting lobby.

This hospital is a Godsend! They treated my husband with kindness and compassion. They saved his life and I am forever grateful to them. Top notch care! The other hospital that I took him from was horrible! Days without iv fluids and no antibiotics. When I got him here to UMC he was is bad shape. This is the best hospital!

My hospital stay has been really good! I have an infection in my Rt hip that they treated with a wash out of my wound. Naturally my orthopedic doctor did the wash out, but the nurses & other doctors at this hospital are GREAT! They have throughly taken care of my needs. I've been here for 11days. I hope to go home today. My insurance has Home Health taken care of. My picc line medicine is in my refrigerator, so all my house needs is me! Thanjj oh s UMC Hospital for all the love & care you have bestowed on me!

Nurses are the back bone to the community. The gaslighting note that has surfaced written by Deb Fox, CNO - shows they are not in anyway a leader. She has failed at her duties

Chief Nursing Officer Debra Fox blames nurses for not voluntarily picking up overtime to coving her obviously purposeful lack of nursing staff, so instead of hiring more nursing staff, on 3/7/2022 she instead released a memo announcing mandatory overtime for all nursing staff, rather than hiring additional nursing staff. There is a decrease in patient safety when staff, especially nursing staff, work more than 12 hours per day, especially when doing so more than 4 days consecutively.

This practice of mandatory overtime will endanger patients, and I highly encourage families of patients who suffer from the resulting poor outcomes to file lawsuits against the Chief of Nursing Operations, Debra Fox.

The Nurses are amazing. It's so unfortunate that administration is so belittling and condescending towards staff. Gaslighting, while blaming and shaming the Nursing staff for not doing enough overtime vs hiring the correct amount of staffing is despicable and vile. Would you as a patient feel safe having minimal, overworked staff taking care of you or your loved ones?

I'm convinced they treat the patients here like experiments instead of gaining experience - one of their nurses. I would give it a negative zero if I could. My experience was just absolutely horrible. I was literally asked if things were okay that they were doing and when I finally expressed I didn't want to be worked on by students I was asked to.

You have a right to say No when it comes to your care! Because of lack of knowledge and compassion and simply caring my life will never be the same. The charts are never accurate so double check your mycharts always! It's absolutely ridiculous how they talk to you - bedside manor does not exists here.

The Last time I was admitted to UMC it was a much better experience, even though traumatizing due to surgery and heavy amounts of antibiotics, I feel very grateful for Dr. Asad and Dr. Falco for helping me with an ongoing infection that lasted nearly 9 months. It is a very sensitive time in my life and I felt like they listened to all my needs and truly wanted to help me get through it.

I am left with scars from the surgery but honestly nothing I can't fix in the future Dr. falco remove the infection from my tissue and did it in a cosmetically pleasing way, I'm glad it was UMC that treated me. I would recommend you UMC for trauma needs. The nurses can be a hit or miss some of them truly care about you and your situation, and some of them watch the clock and can't wait to be off. I do want to thank everybody for helping me in my time of need and hopefully this is the time I will have to be admitted for this problem!

This review is for UMC convention center on-site testing. It couldn't have gone better! I'm about to fly to Argentina and I needed a Covid 19 test to do so; so I made an appointment online and right from the get go Peter checked me in (if you're traveling bring your passport, id and your itinerary) he was awesome! Very friendly and knowledgeable; turns out I didn't even have to pay the $130 because there is a state grant that covered it for me!

That was a very nice surprise! Then I went in to get tested and Jen was amazing; no pain or real discomfort; just some tickles up your nose as in about to sneeze; Jen was very friendly and caring. I didn't get to interact with Kelsey but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't had disappointed as well. Thank you guys! You made that experience so smooth. I would totally recommend to get tested there; it's right next to Peppermill (trailer truck setup)

A hospital that abuses nurses while reporting $186,960 of revenue per employee in 2021. My previous employer took 10-30% pay cuts at the director level and above during the pandemic to shield and protect their employees, with all executives taking a 30% pay cut. This employer has only awarded executives with pay raises and larger bonuses while taking away nurse incentives due to "sour attitudes" and a "lack of volunteers." In other words, due to the terrible treatment by management, as well as their inability to retain/hire staff/get people to work for them FOR FREE, they've punished their frontline nurses and publicly shamed them with childish terms.

The executives of this sad excuse for a corporation, notably the CEO and especially the CNO should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I truly hope the nurses find work elsewhere, which they can very easily and be paid more as UMC pays below market average. They deserve much better. Unbelievably sad.

I have never been to a worst hospital in my life. When you ask for an M.D and they send a charge nurse who hasn't even read your chart asking you the same questions. I feel like these people are incompetent and have a lawsuit coming. I will be writing another review with everyone's name. A person's life is nothing to joke around with and this hospital is a JOKE.

Any place that disrespects staff and forces overtime has leadership that does not deserve the positions they are in. The leadership here should be ashamed of themselves.

Your approach to a staff nurse shortage is appalling. Administration should be embarrassed over this message. See below from internal memo: "In response to the discontinuation of the crisis incentive pay, actions demonstrated by some of our nursing department members surprised and saddened me, " - it saddens you nurses are advocating for themselves? "First, there was no longer a need to continue this expense when our dynamic staffing needs could have been managed using voluntary standby and extra shifts/overtime shifts" - Key word "voluntary" something yo I don't seem to understand. Please stop gaslighting your nurses and allow them to provide patient care. Do better Deb

Staff is so unprofessional and the charge nurse JULIE is incredibly horrible, worst attitude, she tried to argue with my boyfriend who was just in a car accident and kept asking him questions being nosey about what happened when it's not her business, then turn around and whisper "at least you're not in jail" How are you a charge nurse and provide horrible service AND try to argue with patients? disgusting. never coming back here and would rate this place 1 star for sure.

The nurses' CNO Debra is trying to mandate overtime shifts every week for their nurses (without additional compensation). Nurses are also being blamed for the hospital's current staffing shortages. These shortages, however, are due to administration failing them. They are unwilling to pay their nurses more money for OT and still nurses are working with unsafe staffing ratios. Maybe patients would have better experiences IF the nurses were treated better and had safe nurse to patient ratios. The CNO needs to go!

I can't support a hospital that treats their employees like trash. Debra Fox, CNO lacks integrity, pride, empathy, compassion. All the things you would want from a leader. To show how Debra Fox values her employees, she decided that "mandatory overtime" will be mandated and crisis pay will no longer be given to her "entitled" staff. (Her words) Why would "MANDATORY OVERTIME " be needed if we no longer need to honor crisis pay? Mandatory overtime. Let that sink in. Not only is it unfair, but it's DANGEROUS and a good way to run every nurse out, to where she will be mandated to work overtime. oh wait.

This place is dangerous. My father got in a terrible car accident and they took him in. We weren't allowed in because of COVID. A whole week and no sponge bath, tooth brushing or cleaning. A lady gave him a shot of pain killer and later the doctor said there was no record of it. Turns out he has an infection they never told us he had. Sent us home with the wrong meds. The list goes on. Too much to write. Total incompetence here. And negligence. Avoid it.

UMC Labor and Delivery is amazing! I could not have asked for a better experience. I was originally planning an out of hospital birth, but plans changed last minute. I was dreading delivering at a hospital, but I was pleasantly surprised at how great of an experience I had. I was there for 6 days and encountered the most helpful nurses and doctors. Shout out to Christia, Jazmine, Julie, Yarleny, Julia, Sheila, Dr. Funk, Dr. Allen, and Dr. Selzer.

The absolute rudest er staff ever. They could care less about patient needs. They almost have to be tackled to get their attention then they are inconsiderate and get what they want when they want then toss it to you as they keep going. They talked to me like I was a child in dean's office for bad behavior. They stand and talk about patients instead of talking to the patients. Worst hospital experience ever. I'll never by choice go back there again.

We were asked to show up for major heart surgery at the main entrance at 5 am, we showed up at 4:49 to be waved to the emergency exit about a quarter mile away. They took us through the building to get-where this picture was taken only to find we legit are on the other side of the original place we tried to enter.

I want to start out thinking these ANGELS I encounter it all started on the 8th of November my Mom was admitted she had an bowl blockage she was first in the holding area and then they moved her to the 5th floor her care takers where over the top so I am hoping I can send this SHOUT OUT to Cheryl, Jessica, they checked on my 90 year old Mom consistently these where the Angels on the 5th Floor.

Then they moved my Mom to ICU now these nurses are Angeles as well can't Imagine how they do it as if they really do have WINGS. So SHOUT OUT too Jade, Bella, Kevin, Tim, Soji, Dessa, Natalie, Aprille, surely you have too have an HEART to do that job and the care of taking care of there patients. So thank you my angels thank you isn't enough on how you treated my Mom as if she was your only patient and you ALL did it with an SMILE and with concern in your hearts now sadly my Mom is an Angel as well she passed on the 26th of November the day after Thanksgiving it will always hurt but you learn too live with it. so again my Angels keep up the good work you deserve more than words can say Stay Healthy and Safe. So you Heavenly ANGEL'S HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR Blessings to you and your FAMILIES!

Me and my family were in an auto accident and unfortunately my wife was injured and although I could have taken her to Nellis AFB the Ambulance took her to this sad excuse for a trauma center. The care is good which it is supposed to be at a top of the line trauma center, its the nursing staff that really make this place exceptionally unpleasant. I was in the waiting room since even though she called me asking for me they wouldn't let me see her.

The ( charge nurse) came to talk after a long time and was really rude, she wanted information only and totally cut me off anytime I tried to say anything, considering I was an RN for 35 years I could have helped her and explained a lot of stuff to make easier for the center to bill the proper people. Instead I shut up, gave her only the information she asked for and now they're trying get a hold of us to find out who to bill. This goes to show a little tact and customer service even in nursing will work to your advantage. Here customer service is completely non existent.

In June, I was in a really bad accident that almost took my life. I ended up at UMC. Some of the nurses were nice to me when I woke up, but aside from those random few. It was very cold. It really feels like very few employees actually see their patients there. Since the accident, I've unfortunately ended up back there a couple times. I'm now struggling with severe PTSD and panic attacks.

When I was discharged from the hospital the first time, no one bothered to set any expectations with me about what was going to happen next. I couldn't walk. My partner had to carry me into his apartment. If I hadn't had him, they would have sent me home barely able to move, and without any assistance, or explanation. I'm an able-bodied 30-year-old woman with no previous health issues.

This is the first time I've been injured like this. The three times I've had to go in for a panic attack, I've been treated like someone who had just taken the wrong drugs. There was absolutely no compassion, to the point I begged the people at reception to at least let me stay next to someone for a few moments while I compose myself.

The emergency room was not busy that night. They sent me back to the near empty lobby to cry, and laughed with eachother as I walked away. I came in explaining that I was having terrible chest pains and trouble breathing. But two hours later, when I finally got in to see someone, The doctor asked me if I was in for a headache. And offered me pain meds.

This is happened every time. I don't want pain medication, I want to know why it feels like my heart is exploding. And may be a little bit of comfort. You could at least pretend to care about the humans that are worried, sitting right in front of you. Especially if you're going to charge 1000% more for care than what it actually costs. This hospital is terrible. If I could give it zero stars I would. I've been there a total of five times since I've lived in Vegas. I recommend going anywhere else

They have the best Cafeteria and there's a Starbucks inside! Can't beat it at all! This place used to be the ugliest dirtiest hospital back in the early 2000's but they have totally revamped, remodeled and staff is amazing! As long as they maintain the cleanliness and if the staff stays smiling, I believe they can be BEST OF LAS VEGAS every year

Some of the CNA's here suck salty balls. I had major surgery and had not eaten in 27 hours. A CNA brings me food and says oh don't eat I have to check your diet, 30 min go by and she never said it was ok for me to eat. This was at 11:00 pm. Who does that? I jokingly said that this is my time share as it's my 4th visit in 11 months (3 not by choice) and that the staff is at my beck and call but it takes 30 min or so to get the service.

I know these nurses are busy but some of the things I've been said are really unacceptable or inappropriate. I'm only at this facility because my favorite doctor only operates here. Scott - instead of directing me to patient experience being an in-patient your case manager should do his/her job to follow protocol and get me out before my 24 hour when I was supposed to be here at the hospital for observation for 23 hours. If I would review the hospital based on my doctors and the nurses it would be a 5 star but social services and case managment bring the rating to a zero!

I feel like You just let her lay there and die! You said she was coming home! The doctor that put a stent in her right lung and I feel, punctured the tumor! You know what you did! I can't prove it but in my heart I know You took my Angel away from me and left me alone

Absolutely SHYT S/W Corina today, she hung up on me when I asked for her last name. She was also hostile and aggressive giving the worst service I have had from a medical center. Lame company, don't give them any business. My only recourse is to complain and let others know not to work with them

If you read my nightmare ordeals from Spring Valley Hospital after all the surgeries I had there, I said I'd never go back and hoped I never had to have another surgery again. Well I had to! After I healed from the last surgery I ended up needing another one 8 months after the other one. I ended up having a bunch of incisional Hernias from the previous surgeries that I had. ( This can be a common thing after surgeries, I guess?) So I requested to go to a different hospital, and I was lucky enough that my Surgeons office is right next door to UMC too. (He has another office also near the other one) My Surgeon Scott Gabriel: Dr. Scott T. Gabriel is a general surgeon in Las Vegas, Nevada and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area.

He has been in practice between 11-20 years. SPECIALTY Surgeons operate repair or removed damaged or diseased tissue. General surgeons focus on the organs within the abdomen, including the stomach and colon. Many surgeons specialize on specific conditions or areas of the body, He is the Best! He not only fixed my hernias but cut away all my old scar tissues. (This was my 5th Surgery) This time I was finally stapled up and closed up compared to being left open in the last 2 surgeries He is an awesome Surgeon and I highly recommend him!

This hospital was so much better too. Everyone was so professional, friendly and caring. Such a difference from the other hospital. Thank God I am doing so much better since the beginning of this nightmare and it's behind me, I don't ever want to go through anything like I did again.

UMC COVID-19 Testing. UMC testing sites are the best place to go to for your COVID-19 testing. The best part is it's FREE and you get your results back quickly. You have to register through UMC's website https://www.umcsn.com (pick a COVID testing location example Cashman Center) make an appointment but they also had walk-ins available the days I went to Cashman Center.

Make sure when making an appointment you make a separate appointment for everyone in your family who will be getting a test done. Make sure you sign up with a phone number and as soon as your results are ready they will text them to you. We received our results back in less than 24 hours.
