However, this process doesn't need to be frightening; you are in control and you determine where you are going. What you need now is information. The most important thing to do is to get the answers to all of your questions. A mass in your breast or an abnormality on your mammogram will require further evaluation.
If you have noticed a lump or other change in your breast, your doctor may recommend several tests to determine if you have cancer. After taking your medical history and performing a manual breast exam, your doctor may recommend a breast x-ray or mammogram, ultrasound, and/or MRI. You may be asked to have a combination of these tests.
The treatment options available to you depend on a number of factors, including the type of tumor, the extent of the disease at the time of diagnosis, your age, and your medical history. However, your personal feelings about the treatment, your self image, and your lifestyle will also be important considerations in your doctor's assessment and recommendations.

Please don't see Dr Wilson if you are concerned with pain after a biopsy. She's never heard of that and will recommend vitamin e and possibly a breast lift/reduction.
