I was a patient of Dr. Vaughn at Puyallup Dermatology for many years. I selected him based on his expertise with Melanoma because I have had it. When he recently retired, I was placed with a new doctor who lacks Dr. Vaughn's same medical accolades such as participating in studies and active melanoma research work with universities. I called and asked to be placed with the only other doctor in the clinic, Dr. Newman who does have extensive melanoma experience.

I was immediately told no but after further discussion the receptionist agreed to send Dr. Newman an email and ask. Two days later I was notified that Dr. Newman declined me as a patient. I was then again given the option of Dr. Meeker, who I was originally placed with or a PA. I declined and told them I would find a new doctor. I am extremely disappointed that as a long time established patient with a history of melanoma, I was not given the opportunity to see the most or equivalently qualified doctor as I had in Dr. Vaughn.

I believe that anyone that compares the two doctors left in this practice will quickly realize my concern. While one bio talks about studies, Moes surgery, and writing for medical journals, the other is boasting about being an Eagle Scout and now a scoutmaster. Those are not similar medical bios! While I'm sure Dr. Meeker is a wonderful doctor, I feel my concern and need to advocate for myself was not respected and I was not valued as a loyal patient to the practice.

I have opted to transfer to another doctor that has recently left Puyallup Dermatology. In all fairness, the nurses and reception staff has always been wonderful and Dr. Vaughn was outstanding while he was there. That is the only reason why I will still give it 3 stars.

I have been part of this office for the past 15 or more years. My doctor retired and his replacement is doctor Meeker. I have total respect for him, his staff and office. It is the best office in respecting your appointment time. I have never had to wait for my appointment. If you arrive at the time your asked to, they will have you in your room at the time of your appointment. Dr. Meeker is very efficient, listens to you, answers your question and very concerned about your welfare. I recommend this office to anyone who wishes to be treated well

I recently made an appointment with Puyallup Dermatology and I am so glad I chose this clinic. I was impressed with every aspect of of my visit. The office atmosphere is welcoming and the front desk employees are friendly and efficient. I saw Dr. Jason Meeker and I couldn't have asked for a more professional and caring experience. He was kind and easy to talk to. His exam was thorough, and he asked pertinent questions before and during the exam. I highly recommend both Dr. Meeker and Puyallup dermatology.

I have been two other dermatologists in the area and was treated, accused of things that did not happen. This dermatologist was EXCELLENT! He introduced himself and his assistant Chloe. He took the time to explain what he knows about what I was told him. I do need to get the the test results to this doctor. I was referred by two different medical personnel to this doctor, (thank you for a EXCELLENT DERMATOLOGIST.!) But this whole staff was very attentive and everyone apologized for the delay!

That shows they realize they were running behind. I was never upset with them! It shows they are aware of your time and their's. That is being professional! I will definitely refer anyone who wants or need a great dermatologist!

My whole experience with Puyallup Dermatology have been 5 stars! The front staff was awesome. Dr. McClain was so kind and his care has been excellent. Patty the Esthetician has been my favorite! She has been so helpful coming up with a skin care that fits my specific skin type and she has given ZERO pressure to buy product until I'm in love with it. I've recommended her to everyone I know. Thankful for the new progress I've seen in my skin!

Dr. Meeker is a kind and compassionate doctor. I had a reaction before a procedure. Dr. Meeker and his staff immediately responded with care and compassion which led to completing the procedure in less than 10 minutes.

Dr. Neumann was so patient with me. It never seemed like he was in a rush and was perfectly content to give me his undivided time and attention. I also appreciate that he only biopsies when absolutely necessary and freezes things only when they arise to the level of suspicion. He seems to exact just the right level of care. Thank you doc! I think you are one of a kind!

I am extremely happy with Puyallup Dermatology. Dr. Newman perfectly explained the procedure he was performing, and both he and his nurse made me feel at ease throughout the procedure. The appointments happened as scheduled and there was very little waiting time. I would definitely refer this doctor/clinic to anyone seeking dermatology services.

My appointment with Dr. Meeker and his assistant went great! I was promptly seen and treated. All staff were pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Puyallup Dermatology and Dr. Meeker.

Very highly recommend Puyallup Dermatology for anyone in Puget Sound requiring expert dermatological care. Dr. Jeffrey Newman delivers expert care. He has a lot of experience and good "bedside" manners. Dr. Newman is a very thoroughly skilled surgeon to. It is reassuring visit him and to be treated by he and his staff. Debbie, his RN, is talented and has a long background of interacting very well with patients. Finally, Dr. Newman's office staff is competent; their reception lounge is very comfortable and appealing.

Patty is an incredible esthetician. She's very warm and welcoming. She thoroughly explains so I can understand the medical terminology and she's knowledgeable. I struggle with wrinkles and post menopausal acne and clogs. Patty has truly improved my aging 52 year old skin.

Staff is caring, friendly and supportive. Doctor Meeker is a professional, has an eye for detail, is sensible and friendly and I like him. Even the administration is very welcoming, greeting me with a smile and a warm welcome when I walk in the door.

My experience was top notch - from making the appointment- the reminders- the Dr. Was fantastic at checking skin for questionable moles. Had several removed painlessly, follow ups to confirm no issues. No complaints whatsoever! Will definitely use again if needed.

The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Doctor McLain explained my procedure very well. Very positive experience.

Had an appointment at 320 pm. Showed up for my appointment and nobody was in the office. No phone call or anything. My Paperwork states no shows are charged $120. I feel Puyallup dermatology owes me $120 for no show. I had to take time off work.

Response from owner was to call first thing Monday and they will get it straight. well guess what you get an answering machine and they won't listen to the machine until noon and later in the day. sounds like the owner doesn't now what is going on. so no meds for the wife today. this mt previous review: the people at the clinic is nice and the doctor is very knowledgeable but the reason for the low rating is they were to put n the meds for the wife at the rite aid at 15801 pacific. the wife showed the doctor a bottle with the address on it was suppose to an antibiotic and cream, but guess what they put the meds in to the rite aid down mountain highway by fredmeyer and just the antibiotic and there is nothing we can do to get the right meds until monday what a joke

Puyallup Dermatology is the BEST! The best customer service, the best care and the best treatment. So thankful for Dr Meeker and all their staff! They made the transition over from my last dermatology clinic a piece of cake and took care of concern I had. Thank you!

EXCELLENT experience with the practice today. Professional but friendly staff. Dr Meeker listened to me and explained his approach before treating me. That was quite refreshing alone in itself. Dr. McLain was a very good listener and friendly. Also impressive was that he explained the why's of my skin condition AND exactly how the meds work on my skin issue. I appreciated him taking the time to explain in detail. Very professional, organized, and courteous staff also. 5 stars!

Very happy with this office. Dr Meeker and his Nurse Stacy were wonderful. I accompanied my 80 year old mother to get a cancer removed and they were so helpful, informative and most of all very compassionate. We called several times before the surgery to make sure everything was ok, and was even able to send a photo over email for confirmation. I love this office and all the people who work there.

Special thanks to Dr Meeker and Stacy for all their support and compassion. They could see my mother was scared and in pain and they were wonderful. Highly recommend this office!

Horrible front desk staff. Receptionist was childish, unprofessional, and couldn't handle my request to call my wife opposed to her calling them after they made a mistake, took down the wrong phone number and cancelled our appointment scheduled long in advance. Receptionist unfit in a customer service setting and will be the reason this place loses business.

Go somewhere that takes pride in their clients. It starts at reception. If you can't get even that right, what kind of service do you expect to receive from the doctors. If I were one of the doctors working there reading these negative reviews primarily involving reception, I'd make a change.

They cancelled an appointment for my son via mail claiming they could not reach my wife. Turns out they took down the wrong phone number. No problem. But when I ask the reason for the cancellation, I'm told the doctor may have gotten called out and may not be in office that day. Ok. This was scheduled long in advance but sure, we'll reschedule.

When I provide the correct number and ask them to call my wife, they begin to argue with my about the intent of the letter, saying she should call them, then back peddling saying they would call her. All around rude and very unprofessional. In the end, although I never raised my voice or used vulgar language, I was hung up on. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. You deserve better.

Dr. McLain and his staff are amazing. He truly went above and beyond for me. If you need a dermatologist, this is the guy to see. He is absolutely fantastic, does his job with passion and put me at ease. Best bed side manner and stellar work! 5 stars aren't enough! Thank you so much Dr. McLain and staff!

Dr. McLain and his staff were warm and really nice. From the front desk to the assistant who brought me back. Doctor was prepared and upbeat. He explained everything and answered all my questions. During the quick procedure he confidently said what was happening and making sure I was still numb. And done. Made a rather unpleasant procedure, quick and painless. Beyond expectations and made me even write a review.

This was my first time at the clinic, and first time to a dermatologist in years. I have severe adult acne, but that wasn't what brought me in. Made my appointment over the phone for a more emergency kind of visit. I was seen in a good amount of time and actually had appointments available before May. I was super nervous based on the reviews left previous to mine.

But let me tell you, the office was clean, quite, and friendly staff. I'm not sure if other people expect to be waited on hand and foot when they enter the door, or maybe they should remove the lodged stick. all of the staff were extremely friendly and I didn't feel like I was rushed at any point. The nurse chatted with me for about 10 minutes and I waited for the doc.

He came in, looked at what needed attention, answered ALL my questions and I was on my way. I probably was with the DOCTOR for about 20-30 minutes. I will definitely be back, even if my terrible adult acne clears. Thanks you folks of Puyallup Dermatology, specifically Bee, Esther, and Dr. McLain!

I'm perplexed by the negative reviews below. The only one that has merit (if in fact its accurate) would be the need to have an interpreter. The process was completely professional AND exceptional! Dr. Jason Meeker, absolutely THE BEST! Merry Christmas and THANK YOU!

I echo the other reviews about the non existent customer service. Having worked as an office manager for a Dermatology practice in San Diego, I was shocked at the unprofessional manner in which they treated me. They don't answer their messages so don't bother leaving one. They don't always answer the phone during business hours either. Paperwork for referrals, pre authorization for meds and/or procedures were delayed or allowed to slip though the cracks. If you don't want to help the people that come through your doors, find something else to do with your lives because this is clearly not your calling

I'm surprised by some of these reviews, as my experience was excellent. The check in was fine and Dr. Meeker was very kind and informative about my sons condition. At the end we were given a very fair cash price and we were on our way.

They literally do not answer their phones at all. I've called several times across different days and left messages, no answer and no call back.

Called to schedule an appointment. The lady who answered was rude and being a smart ass. No professionalism at all! If you don't like your job find something else.

Do NOT go there! If you want interpreter, they will not provide you one. I called a month and a half ago to request interpreter and they said yes they will. Guess what? They told me in my face that they will not provide sign language interpreter. I got really upset. What a screwed up company! Again, do not go here!

Dr. Vaughn is a personable, kind, and thorough Dermatologist. Because I have many freckles and moles, my primary care physician sends me for a yearly check up to make sure all is well. Dr. Vaughn listened to my concerns and had a realistic conversation with me about how much sun exposure is good for you and how much is too much. I really appreciated how he was so approachable.

Dr. Vaughan is amazing and will make you and your family feel very comfortable. He is an excellent physician and upholds Christian values. He is honest, skilled, thoughtful, and has a great sense of humor! He put in the extra time to get you the right diagnosis and treatment plan. He is a well known and respected dermatologist and has served in the US Army and trained in every situation. He has pioneered new techniques and brings incredible value to dermatology. He will take excellent care of you.

Went here for a second opinion on a mole luckily I did. I saw Dr. Jason Meeker, both him and his MA Carissa are wonderful. Front desk ladies are very friendly as well. I have already recommended this place to my friends and will continue to do so.

Took my son to see Dr. Meeker. I went to another Puyallup skin doctor and didn't like his mannerism. My son agrees with me when I said Dr. Meeker was very kind and personable.

I will not be returning to Puyallup Dermatology again. The receptionist were not welcoming at all. I showed up to the counter and the receptionist grabbed the paper I had out of my hand and never said hello or welcomed me or even asked how I was doing. Then was rude because I didn't have a piece of paper signed that they mailed to me but then had a stack of them in her desk.

I read reviews about this place before coming back, because I was seen here a couple of times years back but thought I would try it again and it's true about the reviews on how rude the receptionist are. When I was finally seen from the doctor it was very rushed and he didn't give me much information on my skin condition and things that would help.

Overall I was not impressed with my visit and will be finding a new dermatology office. I have seen the reply's from this place and how they say if we have any issues contact the office manager and etc. but if they are reading these reviews and see how bad the reviews are and how patients are treated then they should listen and fix the issues if they care so much about their patients.

Went through two week treatments twice on my face to kill cancer cells. The actual treatment was hellish, but the results were beyond expectations. I've tried other dermatologists for 15 years all with disappointing results. Dr. Vaughn really knows his practice and am so grateful to have ended up here! -Robb

My mother had a biopsy for possible melanoma a week ago. They called on Thursday morning saying they had her results and to please call the office. Meanwhile, she has called 5 times. She has left messages, asked the receptionist to please give the doctor a message and was told she was not able to do that. Now it's Friday night and my mom does NOT have her results and has to wait until Monday to try and get them.

As a lymphoma survivor and previous bouts with skin cancer she is obviously anxious to get the all clear! There is no excuse not to get back to her in a timely manner. Clearly their patient care needs work!
